They come on, or very close to, the first of month to spray. I have noticed an improvement in the beginning of the month but by the end of the month the mosquitos are back. We likely just need to have them come more frequently which I will consider next season.

I got an Angie's List big deal last year for a year's worth of pest control from Affordable Pest. When we moved into our house in 2009, we had a terrible roach problem and also periodically had mice. Our previous company charged us $27 a month and never got the problem even remotely under control. When I saw the Big Deal and looked Affordable Pest up on Angie's List, I thought it wouldn't hurt to see if we had better luck. Affordable Pest has done an excellent job. They were able to get rid of the roaches in only 2 or 3 visits. The yearly fee covered not only quarterly service, but a few intensive treatments at the beginning of the service. In other words, whatever we needed was included in the yearly fee. After those first intensive treatments, we would be notified when our next quarterly appointment was 2 weeks in advance and could alter the date or time to make sure someone would be home. If no one was home, they still treat the outside of the property. In the last couple of months the communication has dropped off a little but I still plan to renew with them.

The exterminator came in and took a survey of the entire house and asked several questions about the sightings of rodents and how many we had caught. Additionally he baited and placed traps. He explained that placing the bait externally would drive make the rodents thirsty and drive them to search for water where they would then die after consuming the water (as the water mixed the bait basically causes their stomachs to expand and eventually asphyxiationor something. He returned 2 weeks later to review his work and check the traps. I expect to recieve a follow up call in a few days.

I used another pest control service last summer. Their results were not adequate. This company had a promotion and I hired themThe arrived on time and did a thorough job of killing insects in my yard. The were very professsional and took time to explain what they were going to do. Verry pleased with their work

I purchased one of the Angie's List Big Deals for the mosquito treatment for the season due to a high volume of mosquitoes on our property. I had previously received an estimate from a competing company for more than 3x the deal that I purchased. I contacted Affordable Pest and they quickly scheduled our treatment and showed up as scheduled. Almost immediately after our first treatment was applied, the sky open and it poured rain for 30 minutes. The next day, I noticed that there were still a lot of mosquitoes on our property and I contacted Affordable Pest. They were very helpful and explained that the treatment probably did not have time to set and was washed away in the rain. They immediately rescheduled another visit and we felt a significant level of relief. Within two weeks, we began to see the mosquitoes again and were getting eaten up every time we went outside. I called Affordable Pest and they were back with another treatment a few days later. They told me to call whenever I needed additional treatments and they would send out a technician. I had been concerned that the Big Deal had limited the number of visits to five in the details, but the company said it was not a problem to have follow-up treatments, if there was a problem. We are enjoying being outside without being attacked by mosquitoes for the first summer in a long time. We will definitely be seeking this service again next year.

Closed potential entry points and baited around exterior foundation for rodent control.

I chose AP in response to Groupon or some-such marketing. At the time we thought we had a rat problem. The guy placed traps. I don't think we've ever actually caught a rat. We haven't had contact, but the guy comes out on a regular basis, like he's supposed to, to check the traps.

The technician came out and was very nice and prompt. The only thing which was not told to us was to have the furniture moved away from the wall prior to spraying. We also saw that there was a hornet's nest outside on the deck rail, we called and they came out straight away and removed the nest.

When I called to schedule an inspection, the receptionist could not speak specifically to the safety of their products (I have dogs and potentially toxic chemicals is a concern). I figured I'd ask the technician when he showed up between 8:00 and 10:00, which he never did. I called and they told me he was running a little late. I gave him fifteen more minutes then cancelled. Just a bad experience and a waste of my Saturday morning. Call someone else.

Having suffered through the last several years at a house nearby, we wanted to ensure we could enjoy our backyard in our new house. The big deal was good for 5 months of service versus other companies who charged the same amount for 3 months. Knowing how hot this season had already been and thus how bad bugs were going to be as a result, we wanted the 5 months of service. Well, so far so good. We love hanging out in our backyard, enjoying the patios and fire pit seating area without having to wear smelly bug spray or burn multiple candles all around us. It's been quite pleasant and we're happy we got the service. We plan to use them next year as well!

They are responsive and punctual. I have seen a great difference in bug control since I started using them.

I arraigned to get an estimate to treat the carpenter bees in my deck. The technician was supposed to come by between 2-4 pm on Saturday. No one had come by or called by 4:10 so I called the 800 number. The person answering said they would contact the technician and get back to me. 5:30pm no call, no technician. I called the 800 number again to cancel the estimate, I'm calling another company. Lousy customer service!

Not pleased with services provided.

First time went ok. The guy showed on time and placed mouse bait behind the stove. But then he couldn't get the stove back against the wall. When a different guy came two weeks later for a follow up, he moved the stove back in place. Both technicians were pleasant. Unfortunately, my more recent experience has been bad. They came on 5/25/12 to treat for sugar ants that were invading the sun room. After a brief respite (approximately 5-6 weeks), the ants came back with a vengeance. I called and got an appointment for between 3:00 and 5:00 for Saturday, July 7. I spent my Saturday afternoon sitting around waiting for them; they never showed up; they never called. When I called on Monday, July 9, the person who answered apologized and said they had a technician on emergency leave but they should have called me. They set me up for Thursday morning, July 12, from 8:00 to 10:00. I made arrangements to be late to work and then sat around (again) waiting for them. No show; no call. It's a shame because I really wanted to like these guys. In fact, I had decided to spring for a full house termite treatment with them. But they are completely unreliable, no matter how pleasant they may be. And their ant treatment obviously didn't work. They've definitely lost my business.

We have had a major issue with mosquitoes in our back yard for many years. When I saw that Angie's List had a 50% off coupon I jumped to take advantage of their offer. We have only had 2 treatments and it seems to be working - so far no mosquitoes. We have been pleasantly surprised with these results. We would recommend this company for this treatment.

Long story short, Affordable Pest solved my mosquito problem. I trust them 100%. Long story, long: We have a large yard and beautiful deck on the second story of our house in Temple Hills, MD. But the overwhelming mosquito problem made our outdoor parties unbearable. We wasted so much money on Tiki torches with Bitefighter citronella oil, Stinger Pro bug zappers, and a ($300) Mega-Catch mosquito trap... all barely made a dent in protecting us once the sun went down. When I saw the angies list deal for 5 months of lawn treatment for under 300 bucks, I figured what the h***, why not? We've done everything else. I bought the deal, sent an email and the next business day I got a phone call to set up my appointment. They gave me a time and date and we were good to go. I was out of town the day they came to treat my yard, but I had somebody at the house to make sure they came. I got a phone call saying he was about 15 mins away (exactly 15 mins before the appointment time). The rep asked me if I had any locked gates or fences, or any animals. I told him the gates are accessible and I do have a 100lb Doberman Pinscher security dog. He explained to me that I would want to keep the dog indoors for a least 6 hours after he leaves so that the chemical treatment has time to absorb into the lawn and does not transfer onto him. He came. He sprayed. He left. It's one month later and I've only seen a handful of mosquito's, even after dusk. Needless to say I am very very very satisfied. I paid for five months of treatment, so I just gave them a call two days ago to set up my July spray. The rep easily pulled my file up, and told me I didn't have to call each month to set an appointment up. They automate it each month for the length of the five months. None the less, he scheduled me for this wednesday 7/11/12, and I look forward to another great month of bite free dinner parties. (My dog scratches a lot less too, as Frontline works for fleas and ticks, not so great for mosquito's) The treatment has worked so well I haven't even hooked up my stinger bug zapper or mosquito catch yet this year. I recommend these guys 100%

Young man called to let me know he was enroute and came out to the house. Very competent and capable. Nice guy. Felt he was thorough in executing his duties. He mentioned that they'd be back some time in the next several weeks, but I haven't heard from them. So, I'd appreciate an email or phone call. Thanks, Chris

The representative was on time, polite, professional. He answered all our questions fully and was careful to not spray where our vegetable garden plants were growing. The spay had a strong odor of mint, but that disappated in a little while. Everything was fine. I would have them come again if we needed it. The price was better than another firm we had come last year.

So far every employee that I have come in contact with has been very friendly and professional.

We immediately felt relief. Overall great service and a substantial reduction ofmosquitoes after only one treatment!

I think I may have called this company in early June to find out their prices for mosquito treatment. I hired another company that was cheaper as has been working out fine (Ward Pest) Today I find a bill from them on the front of my house for $295 for a season of mosquito treatment. They also left estimates for other quarterly treatments available. I find this outrageous that they would just come to my house and think I would agree to pay their bill. Very dishonest. I of course called immediately when I got home from work to try to find out what is going on. I am waiting for a return call. I consider their activity trespassing and fraud. I am still waiting for an apology from the company and a promise that they will never bother me again

No damage to foliage. Mosquitos are significantly reduced. They were prompt, polite, explainedeverything. They claim the substance is natural and non-toxic. Since we havea pool, that was important to us. They came back today for the secondapplication with no reminder from us. Had I known these applications wereeven available, we would have had them years ago.

They originally came to do pest control at my house. Treated the inside and outside and an issue that I was having in my master bathroom with something the exterminator identified as clover mites, but based on further research appear to be springtails.They came once. Were prompt. I objected to him not taking off his shoes to walk through my house, but I didn't think that was a big deal in the grand scheme of things until I realized the treatment didn't work and he'd left dirt tracks through my bed room. I was told that I had a free follow up visit. So, I called them back. Once again, the same technician came and was prompt and polite. He proceeded to spray something all over my bathroom. When I asked him if I should move some things, he said no. Meanwhile, it was seeping into everything. It also didn't truly dry for 2 days. After all of that, it still did not help the issue. The thing that frustrated me most is that he said, "I wish I knew where the source is?" I thought and said, "Isn't that what you're here to assist with. Find the source and take care of this problem for me?" He just smiled at me. Then, he left. I called to schedule another appointment for follow up within a few days when I noticed that the situation had not improved. Please note that I was willing to pay for this just to fix the problem. This was not another complimentary follow up even though they'd been unable to resolve the situation. The soonest that they could accommodate my schedule was on Saturday. I waited on Saturday and with 30 minutes left in my window, the technician let me know that he was running late and would be at my house in a couple of hours. It was Saturday and I had plans for that evening and was understanding of them running behind and asked if we could reschedule. The tech was very apologetic and said that he would have the supervisor come out and call. He'd actually see if someone could come out sooner and that I could expect a confirmation call on Monday. On Monday, there was no call. Tuesday, no call. Wednesday, I called and got no return call. Friday the day of my appointment, as per the technician who I'd spoken with when we he couldn't make our appointment time the prior Saturday, they were a NO CALL NO SHOW. Very, very unfortunate. They all seem very polite, but I would not recommend them. Perhaps, they are good for preventive maintenance. However, they are not if you have an issue. I am very, very disappointed.
