Affordable Pest LLC

We used a coupon from Angie's List to get mosquito control treatment for the season. The service was easy to set-up and the staff was professional and courteous throughout the season. The treatment, while it did not get rid of all of the mosquitoes, made a noticeable difference. For the mosquitoes that did stay around, I'm sure that if I had pursued having Affordable Pest come out to provide another application, it probably would have taken care of the problem.

Employee came with no equipment. Problem was near roof and they were told that in advance. Came with no ladder and would not inspect interior where problem was. Totally useless and waste of time and money. How can my review be thought less of when the Pest Company would not attempt to work or complete the job? We would have loved them to at least try but they would not. Sure didn't offer a refund though.

We live near a creek and have had ongoing issues with rats in our neighborhood. Another company had been supplying us with bait boxes to control the rat population in our yard, and they were checking and refiliing the boxes on a quarterly basis. We saw the Big Deal with Affordable Pest through Angie's List and thought we would give this company a try instead. At our initial consultation, I explained I was not interested in having them spray or apply pesticides around the perimeter of our foundation; I was only interested in having them check and and refill the bait boxes for us in the yard. The technician who came out was very nice and told me that this would not be a problem. He said that during the course of the year, if we were concerned about any other issues with pests in the interior or exterior of the house, we could call at any time and they would come out to address those issues as well. Unfortunately, I never saw that technician again, and what he said and what actually happened was a different story. At least two times that I am aware of, technicians from the company came to perform their quarterly service and sprayed around the house without my prior knowledge. I only found out that they had come because each time they left a bill for their services. The first time this happened I called and explained that we had paid upfront for the service through a Big Deal with Angie's list, and that I didn't think I should be receiving another bill. The person I spoke with confirmed that this was an error on their part and told me to ignore the bill. At that time I also expressed my disappointment that they had sprayed around the outside of the house, and repeated my desire that they not spray the next time they came. But they did spray at least one other time. Sadly, this company does not apparently have any way to individualize clients' needs and/or have the means to relay these requests to their technicians. Instead, they seem bent on delivering a "one-size-fits-all" service. The fact that their technicians left me a bill each time they came requesting payment for their services added to my frustration. Although the person I spoke with by phone did agree each time I called that it was their error, it was very aggravating to have to call them each time about being over-billed. Had I not been paying close attention and just gone ahead and paid the bills they left and sent me, I would have been charged twice for their services. I do not feel that this is a concern anyone should expect to have when dealing with a company that had received high ratings on Angie's list. For these reasons, I do not recommend Affordable Pest Company.

Overall a good experience. We were not charged for the inspection. We followed the tech's advice. Looks like the mice have gone away. Tech said to give it about a week and that seems to have held up. Tech was knowledgeable and helpful.

These guys are professionals. They are courteous and ask detailed questions. They provide plenty of time for you to tell them exactly what you need. They arrived on-time and identified themselves. They explained exactly what they were doing and also provided locations as to where the sticky traps were. We will use this company when we need a termite inspection.

They showed up on time for the initial inspection..awesome! The technician came within a few days to complete the service. No problems at all..I would use agan.

They were punctual and provided good service. We did the spraying as a preventative measure. But I don't think we have any pests.

I had a terrible experience where they had messed up my scheduling twice. Also, I replaced the service with another Angie's List competitor and they told me that many of the things Affordable Pest had told me was incorrect.

We live near a creek and some standing water in the back of a private school, so we have a really bad mosquito problem. I would say the treatments were marginally effective for us. Better, obviously, right after the spraying but gradually got worse as the month went on. Probably won't do this again--not a slight toward Affordable Pest, but just maybe a different tact altogether to combat the bugs.

Everything was fine.

They were very responsive and came the next day. The technician found evidence of squirrels and set a trap. He can back the next day and there was a squirrel in the trap. He set it again and the next day another squirrel was there. He set it one more time and a third squirrel was caught the next day. With that, he worked on sealing up the entrance places that the squirrels were using to get into the attic. It worked, no more squirrels! We were also very pleased that the technician was very humane in the treatment of the squirrels. Each time he drove the squirrel to another part of the county and released it. We have had no squirrels since then and are very pleased.

They were punctual and professional. A team of two (one was an apprentice) showed up at the appointed time and immediately went to work. Theystarted in the attic and worked their way down to the basement and then went outside and checked around the foundation. They then expained what they found an how they were going to remedy the situation. After reassuring me that everything was safe for my dogs, they applied sealant to all of the areas that could let pests in and then put different kinds of traps all over the house. They came back a week later and replaced some of the traps. My pests were gone. I am very satisfied with the service that was provided.

Solved the immediate problem.

We had them out for an inspection. They treated around the house. After a month we noticed some additonal damage. They came out to inspect again at no charge. Very responsive to calls and solving any problems you have. I will be using them again on the service treatment plan from now on.

I hired them originally off of an Angie's List Deal to come out and perform a service check and initial treatment. They came out within two days, were prompt and professional. The guy went through and showed me all the places that I could have problems, ended up fixing up a lot of them and then treating my house. He was absolutely wonderful and gave me his card to follow-up, which I sadly lost, and then asked me if I wanted the yearly contract which I agreed to because he was so great. The contract was for 1 year with 4 quarterly treatments and free follow-ups if needed. Fast forward to October. I returned from a vacation to come home and see cockroaches. I called affordable pest and they said it was my fault for not scheduling my quarterly appointment but said that they would be out the next day between 8-10am. I waited and waited and called and called and they kept telling me that the technician was on his way. 5 hours of waiting and nobody showed up so I finally had to cancel the appointment. I rescheduled the appointment for the next day and the tech came out 2 hours late, barely said a word and was in and out in less 10 minutes. To their credit I have only seen one or two silverfish and (knock on wood) I havent seen any cockroaches since.

Had a small problem with the monthly scheduling at the beginning but was resolved shortly after.

Based on this experience, I got signed up with them for service on a quarterly basis.

After several visits, Affordable Pest was able to eradicate my rodent issue. The technician was very thorough in his inspection and treatment. He did a great job of explaining the mechanics of rodent infestation and gave me practical suggestions to help avoid further intrusions.

Overall, it was a success! They came back a few weeks later to check on everything (included in price), which was great. The scheduling was a little annoying (canceled for one day and they still came) but perhaps they have improved their communication. They come on Saturdays, too.

They are proactive in following up with their work and we are pleased with them.

We were very pleased with our overall experience with Affordable Pest LLC in terms of responsiveness, punctuality, professionalism, etc. The only issue is that it look multiple trips for them to finally eliminate the flea problem. To their credit, they were almost professional in scheduling return trips, and did so without additional charges. However, it's a hassle for the homeowner because you need to vacate the home after the chemicals are scrayed. But, to their credit, they first used the least toxic chemicals they thought were needed to take care of the problem. We would use this company again.

I called initially to set up an appt and I told the person I scheduled the appt with that I had purchased the Angie's List Deal for the service. They sent an estimator to my home. When he arrived, he told me that I didn't need an estimate, but rather someone to actually due the service since I had already purchased the deal and knew exactly what the treatment was. I had to reschedule to have someone come out and do the spraying. I had A LOT of mosquitos ALL summer. Even the week after the spray was done, my children still came into the house after playing on their playset with dozens of mosquito bites. I don't think the service helped at all. I would not purchase it again.

Our experience with them was positive. We had used them before. They came out when they said they would. They were reliable and pleasant. They got rid of my mouse problem.
