I'm very happy with their results, but I will say that scheduling is difficult. They often come out unannounced and are therefore only able to spray outside. Then they have to come out again to get the inside of the house (although there's no separate charge for this). Other than that I'm very happy with them.

Am satisfied with the price and the service. Are responsive to phone calls in the service center.

They came on time and were professional. However, since they could only spray our yard, we still have mosquitoes from the rest of the neighborhood.

Great work. This is the third year we've used them and it's been great. It took me a long time to break down and get this service because I hate the thought of using pesticides in the yard. But, it was to the point that every time we stepped foot out the door, we were swarmed. We've removed all breeding places in our yard but not all of our neighbors have. We still get a stray mosquito but we can actually be in our yard again without having to douse ourselves in bug repellant. I'm very happy.

If you enjoy working with a company that doesn?t do what they say they will do, doesn?t give you a clear explanation of what you are paying for, has few or no brochures of their services that might have given you a clearer explanation of their services, doesn?t put much in writing until they shove a contract under your nose, doesn?t listen to you, and tries to up-sell you on other, more expensive services, like an annual spraying contract, on top of the $700 you already paid them, then this company is for you! Continuing from above?On top of all the other services not included in the $199 rodent abatement package (and I?m still trying to figure out which ones were), the Rep tried to sell me a quarterly service contract. He made it sound like they would really come around and make sure all the holes were plugged and no mice would get in, and they?ll keep those nasty squirrels at bay. And, oh yeah, they?ll spray around the house for bugs (which is pretty much all they really did). So by the time he left, he had another $500 of my money, which I thought covered the one-way trap option as well as an advance payment for a year?s worth of quarterly treatments. I had nothing in writing that this is what they would actually do; I only had their generic contract. Well it turns out he didn?t explain things quite right. Yes, they came and did the trap for the squirrels and sealed the hole, but when they came around for the quarterly treatments, they started leaving bills for $95.00. I had two of those (for $190 total) when they started making collection calls. When I finally did talk to their representative, I explained to the guy that I thought I had already paid for the quarterly service in advance and, well, no, it turns out the $500 was for the squirrel trap only and each quarterly treatment was an ADDITIONAL $95 each time (that?s another $380 a year, on top of the $199 and $500, not to mention the $4000, if I had decided to do that). So then I asked what the $199 I paid was supposed to have covered and I didn?t get a straight answer, only that he would send me a copy of the contract. Okay, I waited, and guess what I got? No contract, but a letter from a collection agency demanding the $190! So now to protect my credit, I had to write a detailed dispute letter to the collection agency and another equally demanding letter to Affordable Pest asking them to explain to me what the $700 I had already paid them was for. A couple of weeks later I get a very apologetic phone call from the manager, who agreed verbally, not in writing, to cancel the $190 bill. Then I said I wanted to cancel the quarterly contract, and for the trouble and inconvenience his company caused me, he offered me one last spraying for free (again verbally, NO follow-up email with all of this in writing). I agreed but said I didn?t want them coming over when I wasn?t there and to call me before they did come over, but that I would call them first to let them know when I would be home. In truth, I didn't really care about the free spraying; I just wanted them out of my life, so I didn't exactly make time for them or call them back. But that didn't stop them from showing up at my door one morning a few weeks later, unannounced, for the spraying at a time when I had to leave for work. Again, I told them that I would call when I was available and I asked them to leave. Then it was summer, I went on vacation, and completely forgot about it. But like a bad penny and those squirrels, guess what? They?re back. Again, unannounced, they came around in early October 2013 to spray and left me a bill for $95, which they followed up with an emailed invoice. I sent them a sternly-worded answer to their email, reiterating the agreement I had with their manager and that I had canceled the contract. I said that since I didn?t get my free spraying, that I was going to consider the October 2013 spraying as my free one, and for them to please zero out my balance. I never received a reply to that email, so I figured they got the message. No, oh no, they didn?t. In January of 2014, they started calling me again about that $95 charge. Once again, I explained the situation to the caller and to her credit she said she would take care of the situation. Shortly afterwards, she left a message on my answering machine saying she took care of the $95 charge, that my balance was at $0, and sorry that it hadn?t been taken care of sooner. Okay, so we?re done, right? No, no we?re not. Thank God I never erased that message, because in May of 2014, they called again (different person) about this very same $95 charge. Once again I explained the situation to this new person, played the answering machine message from the previous person, and said my balance should be zero. Okay, new person was going to look into it. She called me back the next day and tried to tell me that the previous person canceled the original $190 charge (that the manager had actually canceled the previous year) and that I still owed the $95! I disagreed and ended up sending her an email containing everything up to that point?the dispute letter I had sent to their collection agency the year before, the email I sent to their original October 2013 invoice where I detailed the agreement I had with their manager, and a verbatim transcript of the message left by the previous person in January of 2014 saying my balance was zero. So far, no reply to that email. I don?t like leaving negative reviews because I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt, but this situation with Affordable Pest has just gone on for far too long (two years) and they seem to fail at every opportunity to make things right. As a result, it has consumed way too much of my time (including the time it has taken me to write this review) and I?m left feeling lucky that I only wasted $700 of actual money. But if you were to put a price tag on the number of hours I have spent dealing with these people, over and over again, it would probably amount to several hundred more. In short, if you insist on dealing with these people, read their contract before signing and know how to cancel it if they screw up. Get everything they say they are going to do IN WRITING, and hold them to it, and/or if they will only call you on the phone, keep a log of the calls; record the date, time, and person?s name; and better yet, record the entire conversation on tape or voice message (Virginia is a one-party consent state, which means you can record them without having to tell them).

They were prompt and seemed to be doing a good job, but overall we seemed to have just as many problems with mosquitoes.

I have used them for 2 years. They come out every 21 days. They get the job done in about 15 minutes.

They were OK. I think I'm more happy with the current service that we use. We spent more than the cost of the deal but I'm not sure how much.

They were great. I think they were timely. I had no complaints. I think they're responsive when you call them. If they had a discount like that again, we would certainly use them again.

Unfortunately, I never really saw a difference from the treatment. They also came out on a day that it rained, so it didn't work. I believe they've since changed products, but we're trying someone else. They were professional enough, though.

It turned out really good. They sent out a very knowledgeable technician who went above explaining things to us. I still use them on an annual basis. I believe the cost is $125/year, but that also includes rodent trap stations.

Affordable pest take care of both issues. They found a hole in the drywall behind the stove and repaired it. My tenants have not complained about either issue again.

I used them for two seasons. The first year went very well but the second year was not as effective. I liked that they were able to get rid of the mosquitos the first year.

I have found their prices to be the best and the service to be comparable to any other pest control company. They generally call before when going to show up, but easy enough to change date to meet your schedule. Website does not allow for payments, so check in mail when billed is usually how pay, or can call them and give credit card.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were okay except they missed a couple of sprays but they made them up. There were no additional charges. They gave me an extra spray because they missed one. It helped with the mosquitoes. The problem was that you need to get the whole neighborhood to do it.

Working with this company turned into a disaster which is unfortunate because the inital consultation and service was promising. The initial service and contract details were discussed over the phone. They came out and treated my condo (I own the unit but rent it out). Despite repeated attempts to contact the company representative to discuss my contract, I never received a response. Eventually, they sent me an invoice with an amount that was not what I agreed to. Basically, they decided not to honor a Yelp deal that they advertised. As I tried to interface with them over several months to get this rectified, I received a call that they were going to send the account to collections. I called them immediately and explained the situation and the assured me that they would not send it to collections because I had a paper trail of evidence that showed my repeated attempts at contacting them and making an honest attempt to get the contract corrected and pay my invoice. One week later, I received a notice from a collections agency with the invoice, late fee, and a notice that my credit may be impacted. This company has nice people, but DO NOT initiate service with them. They made up a contract (that I never signed) and billed me for a service contract that I did not agree to. Additionally, they do not appear to be able to communicate effectively within their own company. Finally, the work that they did do was incomplete. Several holes were left unpatched leaving rodents access to the unit. I ultimately paid what they wanted to be done with this. I spent way too much time dealing with this mess. Stay away.

They never showed up to the appointment or they would show up late or early and not in my timeframe. Ultimately, we did not do work with them and I had to take care of the ants another way.

It was sufficient, I was a bit disappointed, They werent here very long.

we were alerted to the service date by email. the technician arrived on time as scheduled. the technician was very respectful of the property while spraying. the technician answered all of our questions. the spray has been fully effective in preventing mosquitos and ticks.

They were great company but for my circumstances it didn't work very well. They were prompt and very professional. I don't have any issues.

The service was fine but it didn't really help that much with the mosquitoes. I didn't make a write up about the company because I don't know if that is out of their control or not and a lot of times weather affect mosquitoes. Will I do it again? I am not sure. The first year I did it, it was great but the second year we still had a lot of mosquitoes. The service itself was great. They were prompt, they didn't destroy any bushes and very professional. If I needed them to spray again they came back and spray again. As a company they were fine. I was waiting until the end to see if I saw any change but the mosquito is still very bad. I would use them again but I don't know if I will use them again for mosquitoes. My neighbor doesn't use any mosquito treatment so if they don't cover their pool and there's water so anything I do...it won't matter. I don't want to say that it's the spray that they are using because it may not be.

I have no issues with Affordable Pest as a company. My disappointment lies with the product. It simply didn't keep the mosquitoes away and I couldn't use my yard at any time near dusk without being attacked. I am a mosquito magnet. Affordable Pest has helped me with other problems in the past and has done a fine job.

Inspectors have been great and helpful in their explanations. My only concern is that the office staff doesn't provide enough advance notification as to when the inspectors will arrive. Other than that a good overall experience.
