Allan does very high quality work at a fair price, and is skilled at problem-solving with the inevitable difficulties that come up when building a home that has never been built before. He uses excellent subcontractors and manages their time well; if he is not satisfied with their quotes or plans, he seeks someone else. He made good suggestions about materials and linked us with excellent suppliers. He was respectful of owners' wishes, and suggested options at different price-points. He welcomed the owners doing some of the work themselves (e.g. painting). He created some lovely built-ins - window seats, benches and cabinets, and seemed genuinely excited by the work he was doing. Although we changed our minds about using geothermal HVAC, our house seems to be energy efficient. Building progressed at a good pace until the very end, when Allan became involved in another project. He is down-to-earth, a skilled craftsman and a pleasure to work with!
