Reico Kitchen & Bath

Description of Work: I had two things done. I had paneling installed above my kitchen cabinets to the ceiling to keep my cats off of the cabinet tops ( and hopefully off my kitchen counters ). In addition, I had cabinets installed in my laundry room.

Description of Work: I purchased my Merillat cabinets from Reico. I love the cabinets themselves...it's the poor quality installation and follow though that I have an issue with. I had Reico do the installation The initial installation went hay-wire from the beginning.. They didn't allot for slight slope of the ceiling in their design. They put up half the cabinets and realized their error. Instead of taking the cabinets down and re-installing them however, they put up cheap ugly corner molding instead of the crown molding I had selected. Several years later my bottom cabinets dropped an inch. They came out and found out the installer did not put mounting boards on the wall, so the cabinets gave way. They came and took my counter tops off and remade them and, anchored the cabinets to the walls properly or so I thought. Well, my cabinets are again sinking (they told me when asked back then that they didn't need to anchor the ones I was questioning. And now one has pulled itself away from the wall taking the tumbled marble tile backsplash with it. Further, one of my doors has been stripped and constantly needs to be tightened (I am a single person who treats everything with kid gloves). Some of my doors are not aligned properly bc of shoddy installation. Just awhile ago, I went to Reico and asked them to come out and look and they never called me to schedule the appoimtment. By the way I have a small kitchen, so while $8K may sound like a small number, it is not based upon the size of the kitchen (and 10 year-old pricing) It may be amost ten years ago, but one should not have to these kind of problems with a seldom used single person/owner kitchen.
