Description of Work: My water line to the toilet broke. The service man was professional, and punctual, but the cost was too high.

Description of Work: I called them to trouble shoot my septic problems. |What I liked about them: they came quickly, they only charged $29 for the initial visit, they told me what they would charge for each piece of work before they did it, and they were willing to give us a discount for doing some of the work ourselves (digging up the underground pipes ourselves instead of paying them to do that), they also spoke respectfully and professionally |What I didn't like: they tried to sell me a "customer care" plan with a yearly fee of over $300 in order to give me preferred customer status, they insisted that they needed to jet an old line which was almost sure to be a waste of money since the line would need to be replaced anyway, they took each step of the repairs one step at a time instead of giving me an overview of what the total repair was likely to cost, their pricing was expensive (charging $350 for hand- digging which my husband was able to dig in a couple hours, so that's roughly $100 per hour for digging with a shovel) |I got their opinions and suggestions for my problem, paid them $300 for pumping the septic tank and $29 for the service call, and then found someone else to solve the remaining problems for less $$. In summary, if you have plenty of money to spend, turn your problem over to Michael and son. If cash is limited, consider digging your own ditches and evaluating Michael's suggested remedies very carefully before you sign on.

Description of Work: Changed plumbing to accommodate our new sink, which is a single-drain as opposed to a double-drain. Hooked up a new faucet and DW supply line. Would have also hooked up our new 3-part, under-counter water filtration system for the same price because we had it all set up and ready to go, but then the plumber (Kyle) noticed we were missing a washer. | |Kyle was very professional as well as courteous - and we appreciated that he arrived on time. We also loved his attitude! He not only used blue booties to cover his shoes before entering our home, he also laid out a Michael & Son door mat - on top of our own - to use just in case he had to go back and forth to the truck. Needless to say, we were very impressed from the start. | |Kyle also knew his plumbing trade well and was careful to set the new piping up neatly underneath the sink, taking extra care with the DW supply line that was thread through a corner cabinet. | |When I was concerned about some excess putty washing out from around the sink's drain a month or so later, Kyle came back again to check it out at no additional charge - even though it turned out to be a "normal" occurrence and not a real problem after all. Based on this, it certainly seems this company stands behind its workmanship! | |We gave them a B for Price because we have since learned they are a bit expensive, perhaps. This company was actually hired by Home Depot when they replaced our countertops, so the price we were charged for this service may not reflect what they usually charge. | |Because we were so happy with Kyle's work and attitude, we asked for a price to replace two small toilets upstairs that keep clogging up. The price was much too high for us to afford, even with us buying the toilets ourselves and them offering a discount. We decided not to replace them, since they were newly installed not long before we bought our home last year and, basically, they do work. | |We would definitely use them again, especially if we had a tricky plumbing job to be done, and will recommend them to others but with a warning that price may be an issue. If price is no object, I doubt there is a better plumbing company in the area. Very professional and meticulous!

Description of Work: The plumber showed up to repair a broken Moen sink-top faucet. He talked me out of using repair kit as suggested by manufacturer. When asked for price of complete replacement he spent a lot of time paging through his lap-top and came up with $450. When I complained that price was too high for a $75 (retail) faucet and 1/2 hour installation, he tried to lower it ... "We'll take off $29 visit charge" "oh, here's a $50 first time customer rebate". Because I was desperate I agreed to the $371 price. He went to his truck and came back announcing that he didn't have one on the truck as he originally thought and he'd have to go to Ferguson's (a local supply house) and get one there.. At this point I decided my guests would have to a different bathroom and sent the plumber on his way.
