He did a wonderful job, was on time and completed the job without leaving any mess. A lot better than my attempt. Worth the money to feel safe, have clean vents and not have to climb to the second story myself. ...and my dryer works again.

Service was good....however price was approx $100.00 more than quoted. Explained to him before appt we were on a tight budget. Had I known that we would have tried to clean it....$250 was too much.

We called Dryer Vent Wizard when we suspected a clog. Paul was very professional and arrived promptly at the appointed time. After some time he determined a clog existed some where in the ceiling and that he suspected the pipe had separated. He narrowed the location to a certain area. Before cutting into dry wall, he gave us several options to repair and the cost and risk of each. He was very patient with us as we considered our choices. We decided to cut the ceiling and hope we hit the problem area on the first cut. Paul was correct on location and therefore only had to cut one hole. He cleaned and repaired pipe, installed vent and replaced a pipe and elbow near the dryer. He also test the pressure of the air coming out of the vent. We were very happy with Paul's quality, price and professionalism. We highly recommend.

Technician arrived 45-minutes early and he took approximately three and a half hours to complete all the maintenance. He effectively cleaned the line and removed the old grilled vent line cover, which had trapped a ton of lint, and replaced it with a new cover. He was very thorough and professional.

We moved into our house 2 years ago and the dryer conveyed with the home. Therefore, we had no idea if the vent had ever been cleaned out. I just knew that it took more than one dryer cycle to fully dry towels and sheets. Therefore, that's why we decided to call Dryer Vent Wizard. Overall, the service went very well. Paul was very professional. He called about 30 minutes before he arrived at the house. Once there, he performed a diagnostic test in which he ran the dryer and then went outside to the outlet and measured the temperature and speed of the air coming out. Our air speed was 9.1 mph before the cleaning. At that time he also removed the vent cover and looked to see how much lint had been building up at the exit. We went ahead and had him clean out both the dryer vent and the inside of the dryer itself. As he was doing this he also checked to make sure that all of the dryer connections and vents were made of metal since this helps to prevent fires. All of ours were. Paul uses a vacuum attached to a what looks like a scrub brush/ chimney sweep to clean out your vent. Apparently this method removes more lint that if you were to just use air pressure alone. The cleaning took around two hours total and afterward the exit air speed had increased to 19.8 mph and the exit temperature had increased 30 degrees. I could tell an immediate difference in the length of time it took to fully dry my clothes. It now takes less than a full cycle as opposed to a cycle and a half.

MyMy dryer was not heating. Repairman STRONGLY recommended getting our vent cleaned before attempting a repair. Scheduled appt with the Dryer Wizard Vent service Friday afternoon; Paul was out Monday morning first thing. I knew I made up a good decision when first thing he did was pull an old bird nest from the dryer vent exit, 30 foot up, on the side of the house. He then cleaned the entire 50 foot dryer run. What a lot of mess! Once cleaned, we were able to get the dryer running for a simple $5 repair. Price was reasonable and Paul reminded me of the $20 Angie's List coupon. Paul from Dryer Vent Wizards looked at the dryer vent and found three issues. The first and most urgent issue was that the dryer vent had no exit out of the attic - it just ran into a wall - which meant there was a build up of moisture and stuff in the dryer vent. The second issue was the dryer vent pipe had two connecting pipes that were not connected well which was causing the ceiling stains. The third issue was the transition venting from the back of the dryer to the wall was not a fireproof connector, but a plastic one. To fix all the above he did the following that night and completed it the following morning: -Created a dryer vent exit through the attic wall to the outside of the house -Extended the dryer vent pipe through the dryer vent exit -Scrubbed and cleaned the lint out of all the dryer vent piping -Replaced the plastic transition venting from the dryer to the wall with a flexible metal pipe After the work was complete, he walked me through all of what he did and even showed me before and after pictures from inside the vents, the work done in the attic, and the outside of the house. He is professional, very knowledgeable, easy to communicate with and someone we highly recommend to do this type of work.

Very professional and did a great job. Dryer finishes drying much more quickly now. Only downside is that he did cleaning on Day 1, spent a lot of time in our attic cleaning thoroughly, and told us of a problem that needed to be corrected. We agreed (had suspected the problem) and he gave us a quote for the work and returned on Day 2 to do it. Day 2 took him considerably longer than he had estimated, and thus he charged us an additional $100 from estimate. A bit annoying, considering he was up there all of Day 1 and I think should have had a pretty good idea of what was needed, but seemed a genuine person and I believe that he really didn't know that he was going to run into the additional problems he did. Also, would give the Price an A for the hours he spent on the work, estimate aside. All in all, good service and I will use again.

He was late but called repeatedly to let me know when he would arrive. He replaced our outside vent cover for free as a service to us because he was late. He was thorough and cleaned the area very well before he left.

Paul Beum was fabulous...very polite, hard working and knowledgable. I will most definitely use him again. By the way, he came highly recommended and didn't disappoint!

My dryer went from barely functioning to working good as new. Paul was courteous, pleasant, and very professional. Two other people had worked on cleaning my vent, but they did not have the equipment or expertise to get the get the job done right. I found that it pays to get a real professional like Paul.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. There were no problems. I would definitely recommend the guy. That worked out just fine. He was very good about calling ahead and if he's going to be late or something, he will call you again. He does exactly what he said he'll do. There were no additional charges.

The person that showed up is the owner and technician of his company. He was courteous, and friendly at all times. He would make note of things he thought needed improving, but made no serious attempt to sell us anything we didn't want. Since he is the owner of his company, he was more attentive and engaging than some other companies we've hired for various work. He took about 2 hours to complete all of the work. He didn't rush through the work, and made sure the work as complete, and he did clean up after himself. He did take the time to explain what the measurements of the wind velocity, and the temperature of the exhaust air meant. The time he took to clean the system, and install any upgrades we agreed to was a normal time. Sticker shock might be an issue for people looking to have their vent cleaned. The charges for this service in relation to the time he took are reasonable. Users of this service have to understand the significance of what they are getting, and most importantly, the prevention of a vent fire, or latent damage to their dryer equipment. The cost of replacing a dryer, or repairing a house after a fire are more costly than using this service every few years.

Paul appeared close to schedule despite a driving rainstorm, having confirmed our appointment shortly after it was made and then calling from the road as he was on his way. He got right to work, first indoors in the laundry room and then outside at the outlet vent on the wall of the house, using an array of long-handled brushes similar to those employed by chimneysweeps. He worked back and forth between the two sites for over an hour until he was able to determine from before and after measurements that the wind speed and temperature at the vent exhaust were at optimal or nearly optimal readings. At a mid-point in his work Paul ran into what appeared to be a problem (read potential for a major expense), but he took great pains (read attic crawl) to determine there was not a problem after all. I was impressed with his industry and honesty. And yes, my clothes are dryer faster than they have been in some time!

Paul Beum did an excellent job. He responded quickly to my initial call, and arrived when he said he would. He clearly explained all of the recommended upgrades and did a great job in cleaning the dryer vent and removing all potential fire hazards. He obviously knows his business. In addition to just cleaning the vents (which had not been touched in a very long time), he checked the entire venting system from the laundry room, through the basement, and to the exterior of the house. He completed the job quickly, and showed me everything that he replaced, cleaned, and upgraded. First, Paul is a professional who very much enjoys his work. We reviewed several options for routing my dryer venting. The current venting, supplied by the original contractor on my house, was virtually inaccessible and of poor design. The current venting was also completely clogged. Paul and I discussed a number of options. He took his time and we discussed the pros and cons of each scenario. Settling on the most economically efficient routing, the work was performed in a fine craftsman's manner. I would highly recommend Paul and his work. Paul Beam was one of the best professionals to ever work on our house. Every single step of the project was done precisely and checked and rechecked. He explained every detail and showed what materials would be used. The work was top-notch and WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY we paid!! I am fairly sure that our vents had never been cleaned by the previous owners and we were lucky there was never a fire. When this job was completed, I had peace of mind since first learning that a primary cause of catastrophic fires in homes is the lint build-up in home clothes dryer lines. Two days prior to this service, I had hired the same company to clean out the dryer vent of my son's and daughter-in-law's home, which was even worse than mine (theirs is a family of four). With both jobs, the owner-technician was prompt, extremely courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. He obviously knows his stuff and proceeded to work quickly and thoroughly. He also offers a yearly service (and other 2-year and 3-year options) which includes a substantive savings in charges. I signed up for that and signed my son's family up as well. A gift I was so glad to give them! I am so thankful to have this outstanding service available to me and those I care about most.

It went very well. The only hitch was that the original scheduled time could not be met as a result of an earlier job that took more time than Paul had allocated. However, he was agreeable to returning at a much later time on the same day, to fit my schedule.

-I had purchased the coupon for dryer vent service from Angie's; list - within several days Paul contacted me to schedule service; He arrived promptly; explained what his company could offer re the dryer- we agreed to have him vacum the front of the unit in addition to the exhaust vent- Paul had trouble getting the exhaust flow to measure what he felt was an acceptable level after cleaning out a very clogged dirty vent-- He worked for several hours without turning to what would be the last choice- a break in the venting system that would require him cutting into the ceiling; My husband & I decided to give him the go ahead- after the cut into the ceiling (which he will repair) we were able to see months worth of lint that had accumulated over time- Once the problem was discovered Paul made a quick repair- cleaned up completely after himself- He was a pleasure to deal with & we felt confident in him to make plans for future service.

Vent had not been cleaned in approx 15 years. (bad me!) I had a valupack coupon and called asking about his services. Since it had been such a while there was no rush and I asked that he schedule this when he was in the area ( to save gas). His territory is large (Louisa to Harrisonburg) and he owns his business. He gave me a rough estimate over the phone and said he was nearby today and would come by after his current job. Paul presented me with options after reviewing our layout and performed requested service. He was thorough, efficient, cleaned up and put everything back as it was. Very professional person.

Our service by Dryer Vent Wizard was a very good experience. Paul Beum was prompt, friendly, honest, and really knew his job. After his initial assessment, he told me what my options were, what he recommended, and what he thought was NOT necessary. Many people in his same situation might have suggested EVERYTHING as being necessary, for the sake of more money in his pocket. We thank Paul for giving us the comfort of knowing we have reduced a fire hazard and have done it painlessly.

Paul does his work in a very professional and efficient manner. He called ten minutes before arriving to let me know when he would be at my house. As my vent ducts are made of thin plastic he did his best to clear out the lint by using a high powered blower instead of the rigid tool he usually uses for aluminum ducts. He spent time considering his plan of action before cleaning due to the age of the plastic ductwork. Since there were remains of an old bird's nest inside the duct he spent a considerable amount of time carefully cleaning it out in order to avoid tearing the plastic duct. He advised that I replace my ducts to bring them up to current code standards and I am considering his advice. Once he was finished he cleaned up the lint that had fallen on my deck where the dryer vent is located. I contacted another company that cleans dryer vents and they told me it wasn't necessary to clean the area where the duct is attached to the dryer. However, that is where many dryer fires start, so Paul does indeed include cleaning this part of the duct system.
