SAFE START BABY

zero response. I am furious.

I had a consult scheduled with Safe Start Baby. The evaluator called that afternoon and asked to reschedule, which I did. Nobody showed up for the rescheduled date. The owner of the company apologized after I contacted her and said she would schedule a new evaluator. After several e-mails to find a new date, she stopped responding to e-mails. I have heard from at least one other mom said she reached out but never heard back from the company.

I filled out a form online and called to schedule an appointment, as my baby was starting to crawl and he is home all day with the nanny and another child, so I really needed a professional to help. I was offered an appointment the following week. All I had to do was get measurements and take pictures and baby gates would be installed. A friend had told me it was nearly impossible to get a weekend appointment, so I took the morning off work, which was quite difficult. The representative was at least 45 minutes late, he said that he was stuck in traffic coming from Virginia into DC. He was at my house for approximately an hour and a half, doing a and quot;walk-throughand quot; before he discovered that he had not brought hardware to install the gates. He said that he would have to charge me anyway but that I was wrong, it was easy to get an appointment, and they would come back that weekend or the next weekend. That was two and a half weeks ago, and I have yet to hear back, except a brief email saying they wouldn't charge me the $100 the representative said that he would have to charge me for coming out. My child is now crawling at break-neck speed and standing, about to walk and it has been over a month since I first contacted this company. I have not even received an apology or an estimate of how much it would cost to baby proof my house, and I have left several calls and sent multiple emails. I have never written a negative review before but I am really upset at how I was treated.

They were very thorough and very focused on helping us identify the potential hazards that our little one could get into. They were so efficient at installing the gates especially around really tricky staircases. They were great.

I chose them because they were the only one I knew of, to be honest. They were personable and did a fine job.

They know their product well. They come out and do a walk through and let you pick the items you want to put in place.

I liked them overall. The only problem was that it took a couple of visits. I was satisfied with their service.

They did a wonderful job and I was very pleased with their quality of service. There was a small problem and they handled is very kindly. They paid for all the damage and apologized for the same. I would still use them and recommend them to others.

Excellent. Installers had to come back a second time because the cabinet locks they intended to use did not work on every cabinet and drawer in my kitchen, which was a bit inconvenient, but the company was very responsive to any concerns I had. The most important thing they did was install a top of stairs gate in a very challenging location without any damage to my wood banister or the plaster. The installation took a fair amount of time and the installers did not rush. Although the overall cost seemed high at first, it was worth it, because my husband I could not have been as thorough and as quick. This work was done in 2006, but I was inspired to submit a report today because after I emailed Michele to ask for help because my housecleaning service misplaced the key to the magnetic cabinet locks, and we couldn't function in our kitchen, a gentleman from the company dropped a key off at my house. This company provides an excellent service and aims to please its customers.

We have a colonial with stairwells that have a unique configuration. We were extremely frustrated with trying to install baby gates. We called Safe Start and scheduled an appointment. Michele was on time and provided years of experience in baby-proofing. Within two days we had three baby gates beautifully installed. Michele's staff were punctual, clean and courteous. They were the best contractors I've ever had work on my house. They did excellent work and cleaned up the work areas when done. I would highly recommend Safe Start Baby-proofing!
