Ron Mitchell and team did such a great job on our landscape in March 2019 that we asked them back to do additional projects! Not only that but they are keeping a close eye on our hard fescue planted in 2019 to ensure it is everything we all hoped for! Honestly could not ask for a better family and team of workers!

In fact, being new to the lake, he helped guide me on what was really important and also helped me meet the needs of my family. Ron was so responsive, always on time for appointments and his staff... well they are the TOP staff ever!! I would use Ronnie Mitchell & Sons again and highly recommend you hire them as well. So very happy with the project. Worth every dime.

We hired Ronnie Mitchell and Sons to rebuild/replace a failed rock retaining wall at a lake house we purchased, in addition to performing excavation and grading work to manage the erosion from up the hill behind the wall. Ronnie was always prompt and professional throughout the process. He took the time to walk the property and understand our overall objectives, not only for this project, but our longer term goals. In the end, we wanted to keep the perception of a rock wall consistent with other rock walls on the property, as opposed to a segmental wall. The process consisted of completely tearing out the old wall (~90 feet long, 6 feet tall with curves and slopes), replacing the footer, pouring a new concrete wall and finishing with a stone veneer. While concrete work is not their specialty, Ronnie was very supportive of the aesthetic we wanted to achieve and has outstanding partners in the area that are also extremely professional. Together, they designed and installed a new retaining wall that looks absolutely fabulous. After the wall was built, Ronnie and their team were very good at regrading the work area, along with grass seed and straw. They also performed the excavation work up the hill behind the retaining wall to manage future erosion issues and as a bonus, they pulled out a number of old shrubs and steel posts with concrete footings that were an eyesore. Thanks to Ronnie and the team everything is starting to come together beautifully. We loved the stone so much we are having the same stone put up on the carport foundation you see in the attached pictures. Overall, we were very impressed with the professionalism and quality of work they performed and would not hesitate to hire them in the future ourselves, as well as recommend them to others.

Service done on time. Said it would take 3 days, and it did. They did not use all the river rock estimated and credited that back to us on the final payment. They left the jobsite in better condition compared to when they arrived. Always kept in touch to make sure we were happy with the way the project was progressing.

Ronnie and his people came on the date promised, even with the numerous rain days this past spring. This guy has some very hard working people on his crew. they did this job right, and got it done in 2 days, they put on some extra people the second day, stayed late and cleaned up my property nicely. They have all the best equipment to do this kind of work.

My husband and I hired Ronnie Mitchell and Sons this past fall to install a patio with pavers and a walkway with pavers to our boat dock. Ronnie Mitchell and Sons did an outstanding job on both projects. Ronnie did everything he said he would do; arrive on time; stand behind his work and produce a product second to none. He was a delight to work with and a man of his word. Recently, we had an appraisal on our house and the appraiser even commented on the professional and beautiful job of the patio and walkway and the added value it brings to our home. Ronnie Mitchell Jr. provided a design, a recommended paver, and an estimate for a walkway in front of our home. Once we selected Mitchell he met us at the stone / paver company and provided excellent help in choosing an economical and quality paver that would go well with our home. The work was done quickly and very professionally. The crew was courteous and friendly. They worked two days on the project and did an excellent job of installing pavers, some drainage pipes and drains, and mulch. The crew cleaned up the work area very well at the end of each day. Overall we were very impressed with the work and the customer focus of Mitchell and Son. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing hardscape designed and installed. We also spoke to two of our neighbors who were also very pleased with the work of Ronnie Mitchell and Son.

Ronnie showed up on time and walked the property and supplied a lot of good information. He promptly supplied written estimates for work the next day.

Ronnie gave us helpful information on creating a patio design for side and back yard patios. I priced this work among other companies and found Ronnie Mitchell and Son very reasonable. They were prompt, and had the right equipment to perform the work. They were very easy to work with. Ronnie referred me to a masonry contractor to build a brick wall for our patio. They were excellent too. I really appreciated the computerized system they use to itemize quotes. It shows each and every step and the complete breakdown of costs. This makes it easy to make changes to make the job fit the budget. Ronnie has called a couple of times and stopped by after completing the work to make sure we were satisfied. There was only one minor issue that I could find. He immediately agreed to fix it.

we are part-time residents at our house in union hall, VA. consequently, we rely on our neighbors' input when it comes to contractor timeliness and quality. they reported that ronnie did a good job, that our yard looks "presentable", but we may have a little spring cleanup to do around the edges. our main goal was to have the yard left in a presentable fashion and it sounds like this was accomplished. ronnie estimated the job at 3 hours, $90/hr. that would be a total charge of $270. according to our neighbor, the job took 4 hours, yet we were charged only $180. all things considered, we are happy with the results.

It went great. They showed up when they said they would, always kept me informed of what was going to happen and when. I wanted someone who would be picky, so I wouldn't have to be. Something else that impressed me was when they finished with everything. The clean-up wasn't just picking up everything they brought. It was CLEANING everything so that when they left, it looked like a showroom presentation. They were very good to work with and I would highly recommend them. They may not be your cheapest quote, but you get every bit of the difference in quality and professionalism. Worth every penny!
