He required 1/4 of money in deposit before work done. after 3 days work (about 30 hours) asked for another 1/4 of money. Second week asked for another 1/4 of money. I told him no more money until project complete - he was paid 3/4 of money and only 40% work done. Then he asked for $100 twice. He never showed up within 5 hours of time he said he would be there. Often he never showed up on the day he said he would be there. Usually if he got money he didn't work for 2-3 days after that. Most of time he worked about 4 hours or less a day. After 4 weeks we offered him extra $1000 if he could finish in 10 days and he didn't but still expected the bonus money. He was very good, and cleaned after himself. He said he would get all permits; however, we never saw a permit. He gave us our price (and I assumed it included material); error on our part my husband met him to sign contract and give him deposit and contract said we had to pay for all material but he signed not knowing it wasn't what was agreed upon. He came to work unprepared without adequate lighting to see and used my paint lights and extension cords. often he laid his big tools, drills and saws on expensive furniture even after we said something to him. It took 7 weeks and he worked about 3 -4 days a week for about 3-4 hours. He usually showed up between 2-4 in afternoon and quit around 5:30-6. If he would have worked 8 hours days and 5 day weeks he could have been done in 2-3 Weeks instead of 7 weeks. I understand electricians have other customers, but be honest up-front tell me and show up when you say - I'd been fine. He always had plausible excuses, but too many or none at all and just went on with work 2 days later than he said he would be there.
