Terminix - Roanoke -Termite & Pest Control

Since that one-time use we have been barraged with calls at all times of day and night to sign up for quarterly service at twice the price!! We had no ant problem until they sprayed. Now we do!! Never associate with them again!!

Sales Rep messed up the original appointment due to a lack of communication on his part (he never got back to me re a firm date) so they showed up when I was not home. Rescheduled. They arrived an hour late (8-9 became 10:15) and again, the communication was lacking. I greeted them at the garage door & got nary a response. I stood there for a couple of minutes until finally, I asked him to go over what was to be done so I could leave them to it. I had to ask questions as he was not very forthcoming. Part of the process of spraying was to protect stuff in the garage from the spray. They covered about 50% of my belongings and pretty much made a mess of the other 50%. They moved items around and didn't move them back. The Sales Rep had told me they would also be treating for termites as he believed there was activity. The guy who came had no knowledge of that (I still have not had the retreatment). And oh - they broke my garage door by trying to force it up &/or down with the handle turned the wrong way or some obstruction - who knows, they weren't talking. And there was the trash left behind..... Due to the horrible performance of these folks, I began to question the charge for the Powder Post Beetle treatment. I thought I was covered but the Sales Rep insisted I was not and there was nothing in the computer indicating such. I found some old Inspection Reports & on each one it was clearly stated that I was covered for the Beetles. It took me 2 months to get someone's attention at Terminix. I wrote a letter - no response. I called - no response (someone will get back to you in 48 hours wink wink). Someone called me about my renewal. I told her my issue and she assured me someone would call within 48 hours. And someone did call - about my renewal. Good grief. When a C/S rep finally got back to me, she had no clue what my issue was, there was no letter with my file, it was a disaster. I was a customer for 18 years. I paid their renewal fees every year, year in & year out with never a need for service. (I do wonder why the yearly inspection never turned up the Beetle issue). Horrendous C/S. No pride in workmanship. Run. Run as fast as you can.

They come out every 4-5 months. So far the same employee comes out. He is really nice and he was able to take care of a really large spider nest in one of our trees recently. We have a lot of trees and vegetation. They come 2 times a year and walk around the house to check for termites. We pay them one yearly fee.

They got rid of the termites for me. It was a one-time treatment. The price of their service is a little high.

Their current service is more costly than what it should be though. They have been easy to work with and we are on a contract with them. We do wish we could just call them and they could come out to do the treatment, but instead we are on the contract.

We started using them in Maryland and then also when we moved down to this location. They did an inspection and treatment when we first moved in. Since then they come out for us annually. The service has been great. They are attentive with coming out here at a certain time. They walk around the perimeter and check downstairs too.

The service was fine. They have been coming annually for twenty years. They do agood job.

Their service seems to be going fine. They come out for me once a year and it is $237.00. A couple years ago, they did some other changes for me; they changed out 4 crawlspace vents. They also treated some fungus that they saw on the floor. They then also convinced me to insulate under the floor's crawlspace, I was reluctant to do that. They kept bringing the price down and I let them do that. The hard sale for insulation bothered me. A couple of years later, we had a mold issue. The insulation then had to be removed by another company. My renter is able to be home when they do come out to perform the service.

Several years ago we had termite infestation in our den. They did the exterminating. We had one episode about 8 years ago and they came right out to spray everything. We always have good luck with them. Everyone who comes is professional. Once we thought we had swarmer’s; the termites have wings, the wings fall off and they go under ground. I saw them in our flower beds, I called them and they were here within 48 hours.

They have been under contract with me since then. We have about 20 bases/stations and they check on those every couple of months. Once we had an issue and they came out and take care of that for us, under contract at no cost to us. They do have products that they use and charge for. I feel like the price of their products that are not pest control is quite expensive. The overall pest control treatment has relieved the stress of termites for me. They do a first class job with termites.

They did an exterior pest control treatment. I would have preferred them to do both an interior and exterior pest control treatment, at that time. That is what the previous pest control company that we used, Orking, did all the times that they came, if somebody was home to let them in.

We have base stations around the house; they come around and check the base stations every 3 or 4 months. They usually leave a report saying termites found. We had serious infestation with termites about 10 years ago and we have been using them ever since. They have been pretty good. I think their pricing is okay and is competitive.

We have used Terminix for at least 12 years. They spray around the outside of the house, the inside of the house, and check for termites. They make sure they don't use anything that will harm our indoor pets. We continue to use them because I think we are used to them, they do a good job, and we trust them to come into our home and around our property.

I have a yearly annual plan with them. I got a deal on the price because I paid in full. They were the most cost effective of the companies I looked at.

So far we are happy. They do a yearly expection and provide a lifetime guarantee. They came out, did an expection to verify that we had termites. Then they did the removal.

We liked Terminix better so we switched back to Terminix from another provider. We did not really have any problem and as far as the pricing was concerned, we were trying to save money on the job. The only reason we changed was because of the pricing for the termite control was little more expensive. We switched to another provider but the other provider did not seem to do a very good job with the termites. We switched from Terminix to the other provider because of the pest control part of it and they could not get rid of our pest. We still had starters and things like that. Terminix seemed to do a great job. It was great. In terms of price, now that we had a work in on it, it’s pretty ok. We would use their services again in the future.

They are pretty good. I don’t like them particularly. Their work is satisfactory and they keep the termites down. I would use them in the future.

I was terribly disappointed with them. About 3 or 4 years I discovered that I had termites. When they came out it was very misleading. They told me it was a one-time price with a lifetime guarantee. Then they proceeded to bill me a couple of hundred dollars a year. This year I finally had the good sense to tell them no. The lady in the office wanted to be sure that I understood that if I ever sell my house I have to have that cleared first. I told her that I understood but I didn't understand what would prevent me from hiring somebody else to come out and check it. I didn't think I should pay them a couple of hundred dollars a year for them to just come out and walk around my house and leave. She said that they didn't explain it to me thoroughly. I also had them do pest control for one full year for ants and spiders. It did help some but of course it didn't get rid of all of them. It was really strange; this guy came and he talked me into doing it for one more year but at a little bit cheaper price. I went ahead and they only came out one time. The only time I heard anything from them was when they wanted to collect the $249, which was pretty steep. I haven't heard anything else from them. I was very disappointed in them because I felt they were misleading. They do almost try to make you believe that you have to stay with them or you won't be able to sell your house, which I know is totally not true. It was $400-500 when I first used them and I asked why it was so expensive. They couldn't tell me. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody that I know. I didn't think it was professional because I thought it was misleading. I haven't compared their prices but I thought it was high. They drilled holes in my concrete porch and I was stuck with the holes because they didn't do anything about them. I thought they would come back to fix them but they didn't. They did respond and came right out. They didn't waste any time and they came on time. The ones that came to do the work were professional.
