R & J's Flooring

They did a good job on the floor, but knocked my water heater out of place and it was not supposed to be touched. I called and they told me they didn't do it and were not responsible. VERY unprofessional. Now I have to pay a plumber to unhook my water heater and reset it. I would not recommend them at all.

My wife and I decided to pull up our carpet in our mid 1950's house and found hardwood floors hiden bellow. They did not look pretty and we knew why they had been covered for so many years but decided to have several people look at our floors and give estimates. R and J appeared to be very knowlegeable and they gave a great estimate so we decided to use them. They were able to tell us the potential and what to expect before even starting on the project. They were very professional throughout the experience and provided excellent quality work. They were also able to work with our busy schedules and show up on time every day. The floors are now finished after 3 days and look amazing. R and J used all the appropriate tools and there is not one blemish in our floors. My wife and I had them give us an estimate on another 2 rooms in our home and we will have them back next month to finish more floors. I am pleased with this complany and would recomend them to anyone needing to refinish floors. They have a Facebook with several pictures of floors they have refinished... They did a great job in providing a very professional consultation and estimate. Their estimate was reasonable and thorough. They showed up on time for the appointment, were extremely nice and provided excellent communication before, during and after the appointment. They also answered all of my questions completely. The only reason why they weren't ultimately asked to provide the service is because I decide to go in a different direction. Otherwise, I would have been very happy and confident in having them perform the work in my house.

When I started my floor project in my 102 year old home in the kitchen, I wasn't sure if I even had wood floors under those 6 layers of flooring and subflooring. When I finally dug all the way down and saw that indeed, there was wood at the end of that rainbow, I knew I wanted to have them restored. I still didn't know if there was too much damage to fix and ever look good, as I had serious spots, stains, and literally crumbling floors at the sink area that allowed me a lovely view into the basement. Enter R and J's Flooring just through the luck of an internet search based on my zip code, free estimate and key words around wood floor repair. I had the other 8 rooms all done about 15 years ago by a popular flooring company and for my kitchen area, I knew I wanted a higher quality result if I could find it. Even though I had taken off the layers of flooring myself so we could see the baseline, there seemed to be a million floor staples and nails sticking out high above the floor. Josh and Ray removed the nails by hand (I have heard that the other guys just sand them right into the floor and only use a single grain and fewer coats to save money in their pocket), did two separate sessions of sanding to ensure the best quality result and put no less than 4 coats between stain and gloss, as I wanted them shiny. They also were careful not to rush the process. They kept frequent check on the drying process and we agreed that despite one day of lost power and humidity due to rain and storms, it was best to not rush the curing process. They attended to quality over all else, regardless of the extra trips required to check between applications. They were friendly, meticulous, neat, and listened well. They brought a HEPA filter in to aid in drying and fumes and they spent the time needed to remove and replace the doors to my gigantic refrigerator into another room so that we could continue to function throughout the week. The payment process was convenient for me, since they had automated paypal keys on their phones and I was emailed an instant receipt. They even sent me a text picture of the floors when I was at work so that I could see the process. We would converse daily on the progress and what I could expect. I LOVE that they were not in a rush and were willing to put in the TIME and PATIENCE needed for a better result than I could have imagined. My floors are beyone beautiful now! I WILL have them return to refinish the rest of the house. They are even open to doing it a room at a time, as my budget allows. This is seriously a great company. You will be glad you used them for your wood floors!!!
