Called in late morning, Ostrom electrician arrrived in mid afternoon. Did a prompt and very professional job. George a very fine representative of his company. Will gladly use again. Phone personnel also very responsive and helpful.

Excellent. They arrived the same day. I was very satisfied with there service. They very quick, and neat. They did a very great job.

The man was very nice, but the price was way to high. He wanted to charge me 400.00 to run a snake in my bathroom drain to unstop my sink. I told him very nicely that I could do it myself, and I did for 25.00. It cost me more for him to come out and tell me 400.00 dollars than it did to unstop the drain. I guess if you do not know better you would pay, but that was way to high.

Ostrom showed up to do the work exactly when they said they would be there and they did exactly what they said they would do (which is a little rare these days). The work was very professionally done and everything was cleaned up when they left. The drywall repair work around the tub/shower surround was VERY well done also. Their price was not the lowest bid I got, but this was an example of "you get what you pay for." I would recommend these folks to friends.

This is a scam. First of all they will only give you an estimate on site. If you do not use them they will charge you a fee just for the estimate. Then they have a big book of prices showing you the "recommend" cost to do the work you need done. The prices in that book are so inflated it is beyond belief. For example to remove and replace my pipes the book said it was over $1500. Remember now this was for 20 minutes of work and about $20 in parts. Here is another example, I knew I was going to get the water mixer on my bath tub changed. I already had an estimate from another plumber that was $175. He gave me that over the phone at no charge by the way. Ostrom got out his book and told me it was recommended to be about $1200. But of course he could do better. The tactic here is to give you an outrageous price so when they give you a lower price, which is a total rip off, it sounds much better. I had to get this done that day I had another contractor coming so I paid the out of this world fee to get it done. I have never felt good about this and every time I see one of their trucks or a commercial I think about the poor next customer.

No problem with work performed or with the representatives. Work was performed in order to evaluate entire vendor function. The price was excessive...so much so that I would hesitate to use Ostrom again except in an emergency. Representatives indicated they were using a pricing guide, but it was an Ostrom pricing guide. Would rate them an A-

It went great! I was faced with hiring contractors for my elderly mother who lives in another state. I emailed the company to inquire and got a prompt call back from David Ralston. He called me on Saturday to accommodate my schedule and had a plumber and an electrician at the house on Monday morning. The pros called me from the house as requested to walk through the project by phone. The quotes were detailed and offered options to choose from. We actually chose the more expensive option. We were dealing with several projects so timing was critical and they worked to meet the demands of the project Once the work was scheduled, the pros arrived on time, finished on time and cleaned everything up when done. We came up a week after the job was done and were pleased to find everything very neatly and professionally done. As a pleasant surprise; we found the electrical box neatly labeled which was so helpful. We were extremely pleased with every aspect of the experience with Ostrom and would highly recommend. We'll definitely hire again if the need arises.

Called for electrical problem. Came out in one hour! It was a tricky problem but electrician figured it out in 15 minutes and fixed it in 2 minutes. In and out in 25 minutes. Price was good, service fast, worker knowledgeable and he put on shoe covers when entering home. Extremely pleased Rating A +++

The guys from Ostrom were super nice & prompt. They did a good job on the installation & in a reasonable amount of time for the installation. We had an unusual setup, so it took them longer to run the lines to the water softener than a normal setup. The price was higher than I thought it should have been, however they were very responsive and did not overcharge past the quoted rate. I would definitely recommend them & use them again.

Estimator was prompt, knowledgeable and thorough. If their price had been lower, would have used them.

We have very hard water in our area. The calcification from deposits could be so thick, we needed to scrub out our fixtures at least a couple of times a year to unclog them. I thought it may be time to look into a water softener before we had internal damage to a major appliance and come home one day to two feet of water in our house. DJ Ostrom and his team came out to the house and tested the water. They recommended a softener based on our water needs. They returned at a later date convenient to my schedule and ran new piping, installed the softener, and made sure I knew how it worked, when to refill the salt, etc.. It is not a very complicated piece of machinery, but I like to know how things work. No more scrubbing! The water softener is working perfectly. We have not had any further build-up and the calcification that was there seems to have dissolved away. I would highly recommend that if you have hard or heavy mineral water, that you consider a softener for your home. The crew at Ostrom, in my opinion, did a great job at a fair price. Highly recommended.

We called and he responded right away. When he checked on our old attic fan, he said that the motor had seized up. We went ahead and had the whole unit replaced. He left no mess behind and was very courteous. After a few days we received a card in the mail thanking us for giving him the opportunity to serve us.

I called and got an appointment for the next day. Two guys showed up on time. They were very friendly and professional. They fixed the problem in less than hour. I was very happy with the quick response and the quick repair. I will definitely call them again if I have a problem.

After having a myriad of electrical problems manifest, they came out to do a diagnostic analysis. They found numerous issues that were not only not up to code but that were potentially dangerous. They were astonished that we did not have problems sooner or that we had not had a previous fire. The tech was very professional and thorough. He took the time to explain in layman's terms what the analysis was showing and explained what needed to be done.

They were professional. They had good equipment and were on schedule but they were very, very pricey. The person that answered the phone wasn't very clear that a dispatch fee didn't include anything. That was what I was comparing with another company. The other company was asking for $80 and Ostrom only asked for $40. They have three level pricing. One is to come to your door, that's $38. One is to give you a diagnosis, that's like $400. That included some small repairs. Anything in addition is on top of that. I found their pricing to be beyond what it's worth. The people were nice. They wore uniforms and I appreciate that.

They were very knowledgeable. They did look at the problems I was having. The problem that I actually ended up having was from work that another contractor had done. So I had the original contractor come out and fix it. I didn't have Ostrom come back. For the service call to come out, I thought Ostrom was the most reasonable of the ones that I had contacted. I'm not sure if I will use them again. The prices they quoted me to fix some other things were kind of high. I would probably go through the process again and get two or three estimates and use them if they're the most reasonable.

It went very well. We did use them and we were satisfied with their service. The price was reasonable for the work they did. My husband and I could not find where the odor come from and they searched and found the problem and where is it coming from, got it fixed and never had that problem since. They corrected it and we were satisfied. We talked about the price and they were fair. They were good guys.

I have only gotten some estimates - however the guys then sent out (both plumbing and electrical) were great. I was surprised at the amount of all the estimates, but that might just be my lack of experience in paying professionals for this kind of work. I am going to get some further estimates and proceed from there.

I have never written a negative review before but unfortunately this experience was bad enough that I think others should be warned. We had a stopped up drain in the kitchen sink from carrot pulp out of a juicer that was put in the disposer. The plumbing is all in good condition, not old or damaged. I called Ostrom on Friday about 4:00 and they said they could come out Saturday morning. When the plumber arrived he began with a sales pitch about their company and tried to sell a service contract. That was the first sign that this was not going well. We told him the same information about the clogged drain that was given over the phone. Without even examining anything he was ready to write up an estimate. With this being the process it could have been done over the phone, but then he wouldn't have been able to charge the $59 service call fee. Then on top of this $59, he informed us that it would cost an additional $400 to clear the drain. Absurd! We offered to pay $100 per hour but he declined. In the time he spent trying to convince us that this was a justified cost and sell us a contract he could have completed the job. He even said this was their everyday rate it was not any different on weekends. Also he did not want to honor the 10% discount offered through Angie's List. $459 for a stopped up sink is nothing but gouging! I then called Kennard-Pace and they came quickly and did the same job plus an extra service for $100. They got right to business without taking up my time trying to sell a service policy or tell about their company. They were professional and honest. That is the way to get repeat business!
