I was very disappointed with them. They charged 10%. They were more tenants oriented than owner oriented. They were very relaxed when the tenants had moved out of the house. So I decided to go out with another realtor when we built the second house and put it out for sale. We dealt with another company and they interviewed just everybody. They also told me that they did property management. I used Long & Foster to manage one property and another company for another property. At the end of the year I was happier with another company than the Long & Foster. So I let them go and had another company take over the second property as well. They never recommended that the tenant be responsible for the yard work. It was a small yard which was not more than 100 feet. They wanted me to go down there or pay someone to mow the yard instead of letting the tenant take care of it. I had received several complaints from the town regarding the yard and the standards there. Long & Foster dropped the ball. They left a mess. When I went to clean the house to get it ready to show again there was enormous damage to the house. Long & Foster was responsible for it. I told them to hold the security deposit of the tenants and it covered for half the damage. It cost me $3000 to get the damage fixed and their security deposit was $1500. If there was an issue the property management people have to take care of it but Long & Foster gave our number to the tenants. I didn?t understand why I had hired them for. They were responsive. They would either call or email.
