Golden Rule coatings

It went extremely well. At a neighbor's recommendation, I called Mike Mehrkens earlier this year and asked for an estimate to paint the entire exterior of my ranch house (I provided the paint). He was prompt with his estimate that included pressure washing the house prior to 2 coats of paint. The house is a partial brick ranch house on a hill so the back side of the house ladders were definitely required. We agreed to wait until after it cooled to paint. His paint crew is himself and one other painter. They spent 2 days pressure washing and 2 days caulking, then brush cutting-in; Mike did spray paint on, cut-in second coat, sprayed second coat and rolled. He seems to have a good sprayer and a steady hand, yes, a bit of spray did get on windows, but he washed them all. Exterior light fixtures were taken down and wrapped and replaced when finished. They painted the deck and railings with no paint on any of the 100+ metal pickets. I can not say enough good things about Mike and his assistant. Very nice, polite, professional young men who know their job, how to do it well and understand the meaning of "attention to detail". I have looked around the house and I don't think I have seen a drop of paint or spots missed. The estimate was for the job not by the hour, Mike did not rush thru it so he could get on to the next. Yes I would recommend him for exterior painting, he is on speed dial and I will be calling him next year to paint the interior.
