From Start to finish the F&S Team did an excellent job. They were very professional, friendly and courteous. They showed up on time, did quality work (to include the two subs) and ALWAYS kept us in the loop. F&S even finished the entire job early. Most impressive.

Very professionally done! The design consultant came to give me a free estimate a few days after I met him at a home-improvement show. He was very courteous, professional, and quite thorough in explaining the process and in answering all of my questions. He was also available and very responsive throughout the entire project if I had any questions or concerns. They began the project when he said they would. A 3-man crew was usually involved. They came when they said they would come, cleaned up after themselves, and stayed on schedule for the most part. The crew members were courteous as well. Overall, they did a fine job, and we're very happy with the results! It was pricey, but we feel it was worth it. The porch looks like it's a part of the house, with shingled roof, etc.
Description of Work: They removed an old deck and installed an A-framed screened-in porch onto the back of my house.

They had a challenge with my deck . But they were able to fix the problem and I was so pleased with their work. They have to finish my steps but lm sure they will do a wonderful job. They cleaned up after themselves . They were all very professional . I would recommend this company to anyone . The only issue is they take awhile to do the work. But while worth the wait.

From the very beginning all the way through the completion of the work the Four Season's team was very professional, friendly and communicative. They did exactly what we contracted for and followed through on every detail. This was an extensive project and they managed all of the work and finished close to the promised time and were only late due to the excessive snow we had during the winter months. In the one case when a sub-contractor made a mistake and laid our tile in the wrong direction, we received a call from Four Seasons letting us know of the mistake and that it would be corrected. We selected Four Seasons for the following reasons: 1. Reputation as reported on Angie's list 2. Length of time in business 3. Recommendation from a friend In the end we feel we received exceptional work for a fair and reasonable price and are delighted with the way our home turned out. If I have future work Four Seasons will be the first contractor we contact.
Description of Work: We transformed the extierier of our home from both the street and lake elevations. The work included the following: 1. Removal of the existing porch facing the lake the entire deck that wrapped around the home 2. Removal of a mud room an the relocation of the from door and the installation of stacked stone around the entrance 3. Installation of new Trex decking 4. Installation of a Four Seasons room facing the lake with ceramic tiled floor and independent heating and AC system 5. Extension of the Deck and addition of a porch covering at the master bedroom deck 6. Replacement of 2 existing exterior doors 7. Installation of 3 new exterior doors facing the lake from the bedrooms 8. fabrication of a stamped concrete front porch and lake facing patio 9. Replacement of the entire roof to include removal of three layers of shingles and repair of the roof decking as required 10. Repair of some water damage in the garage

Poorly organized and performed remodel. Mostly subcontractors with the main sub causing a fair amount of collateral damage. I had to come home each day to correct issues, supervise, and explain to the subs how things should be done as the F and S project supervisor was rarely there. Here are some problems: The tile installer didn't talk with us prior to the installation so I had to guess how much tile and what types to buy ending up wasting me money. Late arrival almost every morning. Wall damage from the initial demolition. Ceiling damage from large amount of water leaking to lower level during the initial demo, they busted pipes and water leaked through to my 1st floor. One of the workers kept peeing on the toilet seat downstairs. Mirrors installed off center over sinks that the sub blamed on F and S. Mirrors were too large and partially covered the opening for electrical outlets/lights but were installed anyway. Removing and replacing the mirrors caused a lot of drywall damage that I had to repair myself as they were glued on the wall. Soap dishes installed upside down. Cracked tiles on the floor that had some caulk placed over it and I had to insist they replace it as they were hesitant. Multiple cracked shower wall tiles they had to replace. Tile on floor installed and then other contractors came in and put scratches on the new tiles. Drywall work that was only sanded after I asked but still required me to skim coat it all as the finish was so poor. Cable and phone outlets simply covered up by granite backsplash, (I assumed they would move them up). I had to ask when they would install the shower doors as they stated they were done, again because the project manager was rarely there and could care less about the final product. I had to remove all the protective plastic from the carpet myself and do alot of the cleanup myself. A cracked window behind a shade that I found right after they left. I took pictures of the debacle to prove I was not just a whiner/complainer and I had legitimate concerns. It took me a year to write the review because I was trying not to think about it, it was so stressful and such a miserable experience.

Response from F & S Building Innovations, Inc.
It is quite obvious that our performance on this job wasn't satisfactory to our customer. There were definitely things to improve on, however, there are a few items that seems to be fictional based on the review. It is our goal to arrive on the job site consistently day to day, however, gathering materials, safety meetings with employees and traffic do play a role in when we arrive on the job. The "busted pipe" was the existing connector from the toilet that was removed during the demolition. It was simply an accident that we took care of. In our agreement, our customer chose to take care of providing his own tile and grout. Typically, we like to take care of this on our end simply because we know how much to have on the job site. There have been situations in the past where the homeowner will provide things, but often does not order enough and cause delays in the process. He also originally chose to handle the sheet rock repair work, but after seeing how much sheetrock work there was, allowed us to finish it. The electrical items were also his responsibility, however, were not performed as needed, therefore, leaving a less than desirable placement of the existing phone jack at the time of installation of the mirrors. We did crack a wall tile at the time of installing the shower door, and of course was remedied by us. The soap dishes were installed per the manufactures directions. Vacuuming and final clean up was performed by us, as well as removing the plastic protection that we lay on all carpeting, in high traffic areas and areas where remodeling is being performed. This is standard procedures. We were unaware of a "cracked window", but had known, this would have been replaced. Again, it is obvious by our customers review that we did not perform to his satisfaction. We strive to provide the most exceptional qualities to our customers in any remodel that we do. Our goal is to leave the home with complete satisfaction in all circumstances.

Let me begin by saying that my experience is a ?he said/she said? scenario and that the written contract supports the contractor. But we don?t turn to Angie?s list strictly for legality. We turn to Angie?s because we are all looking for contractors that we are comfortable with and can trust. I like to consider that someone?s spoken word and handshake are just as strong as a written contract. I contracted with F&S to replace a deck. I already had proposals from other contractors. One contractor, Jimmy Dollman with Dollman Construction, sold me on the idea of kiln dried lumber. (In hindsight I wish I had gone with him.) Beginning with my first sales meeting with F&S I stated that I wanted kiln dried lumber. The written contract does not say kiln dried lumber, and I take responsibility for not insisting that it was corrected, but I confirmed this in multiple conversations, with the salesman and the crew. When the lumber was delivered, it was not labeled as kiln dried (kdat). I asked the crew to confirm that it was kiln dried before they began building. They called the lumber yard and while the response was vague, they indicated that it was what I ordered. They crew was great and went on to build a lovely deck. I waited a couple of weeks to stain, per the lumber yard?s recommendation. After staining I noticed significant shrinkage in the decking boards and the screws were beginning to work themselves out of the wood. This did not sound right for kiln dried lumber, so I checked in with F&S. They now said that I never requested kiln dried lumber. In addition to multiple conversations, I did send a couple of emails asking for confirmation that the lumber was kdat. The salesman did not remember our multiple conversations. The F&S representative told me that their salesman does not lie and that he goes to church with him. While it was nice to see a company support their employee, it would have been even nicer to have them support their customer. We went round and round several times, but I kept hitting a brick wall. F&S never backed down from their position. They never acknowledged that my version might be correct. I was simply told that I was wrong. They replaced 5 or 6 of the boards where the shrinkage had created the biggest gaps. Since the deck had already been stained, these new boards do not match, and I ended up with a mismatch appearance...my deck looks like it has stripes. (I have photos I would like to share. I am not sure if there is a place to do this). I now have to pay someone else to fix this. I reached out, by email and phone, to the president of the company, Gary Feazell. He did not take the time to respond. The F&S rep accused me of threatening him with Angie?s List. But isn?t this why we join? We want to share our experiences and hear about other people?s experiences so we can make informed decisions. Consumers can decide for themselves if this is the kind of contractor they hoped to find when they joined Angie?s List. I do not recommend them, I do not trust them, and would never use them again. To clarify the company's comments about staining, I did have to find another contractor to stain the deck as this was not a service offered by F & S. However, the pale boards that give the deck the striped appearance (see photos) were stained by F&S, and I completely agree that they only applied one coat. ?F & S goes above and beyond to the general standards to provide an exceptional experience with all of our customers? are nice words, but the fact is that the deck in these photos is the final product provided by F&S. This is how my deck looks today. Consumers can decide if this the kind of exceptional experience they are looking for.

Response from F & S Building Innovations, Inc.
We first would like to say that F&S Building Innovations goes above and beyond to the general standards to provide an exceptional experience with all of our customers. In this particular situation, our customer, (member name removed), was not satisfied because she thought she should have been receiving a different type of material than was specified and delivered. Between our initial visit (4-10-14) to starting the job (5-30-14) there were no indications to me (Production Manager) nor any evidence in our specifications and contract indicating that a special type of material (KDAT) was to be used. It is our standard practice that once a contract is agreed on, myself and the customer, along with my assistant and our design consultant, performs a "pre-construction" meeting on site to discuss all aspects of the job, including the scope of work and any other concerns or questions that may arise. At no given point was there any discussions using any other special type of pressure treated materials other than regular pressure treated materials from Yellawood. Because there were a few boards that had gapped open inconsistently with the other deck boards, we agreed to replace them at no charge. From the pictures, it is obvious that the replaced boards had not been given the final coats of stain. We feel that F&S Building Innovations has completely fulfilled our responsibility to our customer. Out of courtesy, we offered to pay for the staining of the entire deck (by others). It is unfortunate that our customer feels this way about our team.

Description of Work: The sales Rep from F&S arrived a day early and I just happen to be home that morning. I gave F&S a C Rating on Punctuality because they did show up on time even if it was a day early. F&S understood what I wanted to do and provided a very simple hand drawing of a deck plan after understanding what I was asking to be done. I could have done the simple dimension drawing without paying F&S to even be involved. I did think the costs quoted by F&S for the work I wanted done was very high and told the F&S Rep my view. That ended the conversation with F&S.

This company is GREAT!!!! We needed our decking replaced on the back of our home. We had pressure treated lumber and wanted to have Trexx installed. Jason Evans came out to our home and measured and gave us an estimate. We scheduled the work to be done, and when the work crew arrived I cannot say enough about how professional and meticulous they were. It took them about 2 days to finish the job, and from start to finish they were amazing. They kept the area clean and neat, worked hard, and did an EXCELLENT job. Our new deck looks beautiful. The workers even went an extra step and removed junk (that we did not know was there because our deck is enclosed with brick) our original builder left under the deck. My husband and I would recommend this company without reservation!
