Response from Dollman Construction, Inc
Member, I am sorry for the negative experience that you have had with our company. No business owner, that would like to remain a business owner, wants an F rating. In this instance (at least in part), I anticipated that negative reviews or less than favorable feedback were a real possibility when I made the decision to direct a staff member to contact several potential customers to withdraw our company from consideration, due to a large number of project proposals that were approved over a short time period. The number of new projects would have, in my opinion, prevented us from providing a high level of service to anyone because our production and supervision resources would be spread too thin to do an effective job for anyone. I know that it is little consolation, but my intentions were the best. By "best", I mean that the right answer is arguable in these circumstances. There is a high likelihood that the three people that were notified and perhaps disappointed or inconvenienced by our decision to withdraw from consideration, may have become extremely upset to find out that we could not adequately staff or manage their job after they had hired us to complete the work. In this circumstance, I considered the potential implication of a negative review exactly like what I am replying to today, but I weighed that against the potential of 15 angry clients posting reviews about horrible service and their projects taking far too long to complete. Again, I am very sorry. As far as your statement about a phone call that was not returned, I apologize. I never received a message to call you. I think it is clear by our reviews on Angie's List and in numerous other online sites/directories, that we have a reputation for doing what we say that we will do and for providing outstanding service. I have addressed this particular issue by revising phone policies. I realize that you have likely made other arrangements for your project, but please call me or message me if there is anything at all that I can do to make your experience with us a better one. Thanks - Jimmy Dollman, President
