It went well. Estimate of unit(s) was provided by Mr. Chance Baker the day after I called them. They would have replaced units within a few days, but Baker said there would be a substantial rebate offered by the manufacturer if I waited, I decided to wait. The morning that the rebate was effective, Mr Baker and his crew were here as scheduled. Baker techs were very polite, professional and cleaned up after themselves very nicely. Additionally, when Mr Baker came to house to give me an estimate he also indicated that duct work out of the unit was not modified properly after previous house remodel (even the likes of me could see that it was wrong), that modification and other corrections were made by the Baker crew that he did not charge additionally for and which took this tech several hours to complete. The AC was not used that much before it has cooled off this season, but what I really noticed is the lack of noise from the unit; it is very quite, very nice. The furnace did seem to have a bit of burn-off smell from the unit the first few times of use, I am not noticing it now. With the units only installed for 30 days I can say that they seem to be working fine; in a year I should update review I purchased the high end Lennox Signature unit because of the higher heating efficiency (AFUE) rating of about 97-98% and the AC unit cool rating (SEER) of about 23. This unit also has an iComfort thermostat; for me that is over-kill as I am here at the house most of the time, but if I did want to control from my i-phone I could. I did not buy this unit to recoup $$'s in utility cost so much as for the comfort I believe it will provide. I had also asked Mr Baker what his charges were for annual maintenance, seems he mentioned a price that is lower than I paid from other HVAC guys.

I've used Baker Heating & Air for approximately 10 years. They've always provided prompt, effective service for a good price. My heat pump is nearly 20 years old and I give all the credit for its longevity to Baker. I can't remember the exact date; but I'll never forget Chance (one of the owners) coming out on a Sunday evening in the middle of winter to get my system working again. I'll always be grateful for that level of commitment. Several years ago the fan motor went bad in my heat-pump. Baker replaced it; however, the replacement lasted less than 2 years. A technician came out and discovered that the replacement had not been securely wired when it was installed. So Baker replaced the fan motor again out of their pocket this time. It's rare that you get that kind of honesty from a service organization. Baker Heating & Air is the best HVAC service in the Roanoke Valley.
