Excellent - low price - good work - good cleanup - recommended to my brother to drop a tree

Dove's Tree Service arrived on time with an experienced and cordial team that carried out the work in a very efficient manner. James Dove, the owner of the company, is a trained arborist. I have a narrow, deep lot with a steep back yard in a residential area in Arlington, VA. All of the trees I listed were in major need of care. The gum and maple trees in front were in sad shape. The oak tree in the back was overhanging the house and very close to the back corner of the house. The job required considerable care to ensure that as dead wood and suckers from the large limbs were removed that none of the debris fell on the roof of the house or the roof of the screen porch. This was not an easy job. The result is breath-taking. Simply put, they did a fabulous job on a job that other tree companies wouldn't even attempt. Their work ensures us healthy trees that will not cause us problems for years to come. I give them 100 stars!!!!! I would highly recommend this company!!!!!

James was courteous, prompt, and efficient. He and his crew worked through the surprise snow and were done in minimal time.

The three man crew took a lot of time strategizing exactly how to drop two very tricky trees. One was overhanging a fence and another was super tall near the house. Both trees were perfectly felled into the safe designated area. The debris and trunks were sawed and left right where I wanted them. They arrived on time and wasted no time at all getting the job done. Easy to work with and very pleasant.

This is an update to my previous post. The only complaint was I wish they had swept up some of the trimming better. Ask me for a broom if you don't have one so I wouldn't have to go out there and do it myself.

James Dove did a great job while being very professional and punctual. I would hire him again for future tree services.

The three man crew arrived on time and were friendly and professional. The first trip they cut down and removed the birch. We had to have the utilities marked prior to them removing the roots and stumps. After the utilities were marked we called Dove's and scheduled them for the following Saturday. As the stump was located directly over the gas line, they removed as much of it as safely possible, removed the roots and the other tree as well as grinding down that stump. Overall they did a great job and I will definitely used them again. I have recommended them to neighbors who also used their service to remove trees.

James Dove had cut a large pine for me several years earlier, so when he stopped by looking for work, I asked for an estimate for two large birch trees, an old white oak, and a very tall slender pine that was leaning over a mature holly tree. He gave me a good price for all and agreed to come back on the weekend. His crew were very careful at taking down the large trees in a very crowded garden with plants and bushes under foot. I was very pleased with the care they took not to damage my plants. It was difficult to get the pine down without it falling into the holly, but they did an amazing job at roping it to an adjoining tree and twisting the pine out of range of the holly. It took considerable effort by the entire crew. In addition, they cut up the birches and oak into firewood and stacked it, and took away the pine as it's unsuitable for burning in a fireplace. They cleaned up any sticks and brush that remained on the ground. I felt they worked extremely hard and certainly deserve a recommendation for their excellent services.

I had originally had another contractor but he never appeared. I called Dove's and they sent a crew the same day.They were professional in approach and did everything on my rather detailed list very well. They cleaned the area and hauled away all the debris. I had lower bids but I think they did quality work. I would assuredly use them again and recommend them to others.

They did a great job. The owner is always willing to work with me. He is helpful with working around my budget. Also he asks for approval before he is done with the job.

Great work. Very efficient. James has done work for me before and he always meets his commitments and does a good job at a reasonable price.
