The repain man was very professional and spent a lot of time educating me on how things work and what was wrong. He spent quite a bit of time assessing the problems. He then provided me cost and options. I made my decision and he went and did the work. He was here for 4 hours and when he left things were working. I would definitely call them again. I felt like I was getting honest information and not a sales job.
Description of Work: I have a heat pump and a regular propane based heater/AC system. The AC on both was not working. The reason was that both systems were vvery low on freon. He suspects that there is a slow leak. I had not had service on either since I moved into the house over 2.5 years ago. So the systems may have been low for a long time, as they have never really worked well, in my opinion. He did find a leak in the heat pump system. He sodered where the leak was and fixed that. He put freon in both systems and checked for other leaks.

The electrician for this job and the previous job were polite and do good work. Overall, I am pleased with the work they did. Woodfin may be a little more expensive then hiring an independent electrician on an hourly basis. But I like the idea that they price everything up front so you know what you are getting into and there are no surprises. I also like the fact that they stand behind their work with a 1 year labor warranty. They are busy, so sometimes it takes a few days after you call them for them to come out and do the work. But it is worth the wait I think. I will probably continue to use Woodfin for my electrical work in the future.
Description of Work: This is the 2nd time I have used Woodfin for electrical work. For this job I asked them to install several (5) new light fixtures and also look at some issues I was having with 2 other fixtures not working. The only concern was a minor concern I had with some of the fixtures not being entirely flush with the ceiling. The electrician put in a few extra screws to attach the fixtures to the ceiling better in order to address that.

It was simple to schedule an appointment time and the service technician, Ken J, arrived as scheduled. He was neat, clean, pleasant, and professional in every way. He was happy to answer questions, explain how things worked, and what he was doing as I looked on. He explained how their maintenance service agreement worked and how it could benefit me since a large part of its cost would already be paid for in the service call. This was the second time I called Woodfin for service and I was very pleased with their work both times. When it comes to service, I firmly believe you get what you pay for. My experiences with Woodfin have been completely satisfactory.
Description of Work: Removed a snake, which had met an untimely death and was jammed in the fan, from one of my outdoor A/C units. Performed preventive service and maintenance on my central A/C system.

Appointments are easy to make. The service people show up at the appointed time. They are always professional, clean, and efficient. I also use them for annual maintenance agreement on our central air system as well. Have been a loyal customer for over 10 years.

They are very good. I'm very pleased with them. They are very reliable and courteous. They are also very helpful. When they come out, the people are pleasant and polite. They get right down to the job, and they sort the problem out. The people in the office are pretty helpful as well. There are some companies that are cheaper.

Ryan was polite. He explained what he was doing and answered all questions. I will us this company again even though I thought the thermostat was a little expensive. I have set up an appointment for an estimate on cleaning my ducts.

They are good. They are very meticulous, clean, and polite. They even helped me bring in groceries.

The member called the Virginia Bureau of Weights and Measures and they verified that our truck is measuring product properly and does meter each delivery accurately. His report to The Better Business Bureau of Central Virginia was reviewed, our explanation was accepted, and the case was marked as being resolved. Despite various discussions with the member, this uncomplimentary report still is posted on Angie's List. The fact that he subsequently paid us in full for all the oil we delivered should be enough evidence to remove this report. Surely no person who thought a company had stolen from them would pay for the same products they accused the company of not delivering! I urge Angie's List and the member to remove this malicious report and its detrimental effect to our Angie's List rating.

When our AC did not function as expected and we learned that the coil was frozen, we called Woodfin and they were able to come out the next day and diagnose the problem. After the parts were ordered to repair the AC unit there was a 2 week lag. Once the parts came in the AC was fixed and tuned up. We were impressed with the professionalism of the the company and how they acted through the process. We would use Woodfin again and again. Although the price was higher than average the money spent was worth the quality of the work,.

He was on time for the appt., but it took 3 calls and about 3 weeks to actually get the estimate from the service tech. When I received the estimate, I was quoted that the work would be $5,200. Needless to say I received a second opinion- for the same work Bradley Mechanical quoted me $2,500.

The gentleman seemed especially eager to "push" one particular brand of equipment. He explained why he favored it and left me with brochures and information about the product, but because it is relatively new and without a history of reliability, etc. I was reluctant to use it.
Description of Work: Representative came to give an estimate for furnace. AC replacement. He seemed knowledgeable and thorough, arrived promptly and returned a few days later to present the company's proposal.

I am sorry we were so eager to sell you one brand. We primarily handle 3 brands but have access to any brand that is sold. I always tell our sales staff to sell the product they feel is the best for a customer's application but we will always install another brand if a customer prefers another brand. In selecting a replacement system, we feel like the installing dealer is the primary consideration not just the equipment brand. With our track record of over 30+ years of providing thousands of installations, we feel like Woodfin is the best choice for a new installation. They understood the dynamics and emotions of buying a new home and were both compassionate and very helpful; they worked with us on price. Very happy, unfornately the purchase was not completed.

We ended up not having them come out because we have a problem at the side where it has to fit, in the crawl space. They were very honest and told me that they did not think that the items that they had would fit. They did not think that the item would be compatible and told me that on the phone because I told them the size that I had. They were very professional and if they had the item, I would have probably gone with them.
