Description of Work: I had two slipper chairs reupholstered and they came out looking fantastic! Staff was super friendly and flexible in meeting my tight deadline. In fact, the chairs were finished well before the quoted date! I will definitely be using Whetstone for my next upholstery project.

 + -1 moreThey were knowledgeable and professional. The cushion looked good. I do think they were pricey, but I should have verified the total price before I gave the go ahead. I might not use them again simply because of the price.

But, despite the fact that I brought in the two chairs and staff cut open the bottom of my chairs to investigate condition, the estimates were very low compared to final costs. They did call to let e know about extra costs, but at that point I had to take their word on what was necessary to make the chair solid. I felt a bit pressured to just approve the extra costs right then and there to keep the project moving forward. I would have liked to talk more about options in a less rushed manner while I was I the shop, not over the phone a few days later. The changes they called about should have been discernible when they cut the bottom on the chair to look at springs and frame.

 + -1 moreThe process went very well. We contacted them, found they would use our fabric, helped us remove the chairs from our vehicle and went to work. Very pleasant over the phone and did what they said they would do.
Description of Work: Recovered 4 dining room chairs using our fabric which we had cut for fitting. Chairs looked terrific and because we supplied the fabric, they charged us less per chair. The chairs were promised the early part of November and they were available earlier than promised.

Description of Work: Three pieces of antique seating were reupholstered (a large 1840s Empire sofa, an Eastlake settee, and lady's slipper tucked slipper chair). Underlying structure was corrected (gluing, tightening and replacing springs, etc.). We provided fabric which we already had, but they have a beautiful selection and talented assistance if that is needed. Estimates were on target (via emailed pictures). The craftsmanship is excellent. The turnaround was very quick. They are expensive but we are very glad we could trust them with valuable pieces.
