Virginia Shower & Baths

I called Virginia Shower and Bath and told them I wanted a shower door installed. Despite not doing that work (they do full remodels), they sent a salesman over. I say "salesman," not "estimator" over because it was a 90 minute sales presentation. The salesman hammered home the idea that they do the job with integrity and everyone is a part of the company family. The sales pitch was useful and definitely covered all my objections and made me want their very expensive microban product. I said, "yes." While he was doing measurements, I checked on reviews online and changed to a "let me think about it" due to some negative reviews on BBB and Yelp. The salesman called the office and the guy on the phone told me to ignore the review because that site only allows you to leave negative reviews. I am a frequent reviewer on that site and rely on it heavily and KNOW that that is not the case. With that lie, he lost all credibility, and I said, "no." He kept sitting there and talking. The phone rang again with more talk about how reviews can't be trusted, and I finally had to stand up and say, "We're done here" before he would actually leave. I can't say anything about their workmanship, but the sales experience was very unpleasant and I am really glad that it didn't go any further. I don't trust people who try lie, don't acknowledge the lie, and continue to try to make me believe the lie.
