Wonderful. Tinker and Company did a fabulous job for us. Tony Coleman is a true professional and a very kind person as well -- which is important when you are in the midst of a traumatic situation such as a fire. The work required was extensive -- there were many antiques in additon to more contemporary furnishings, and took place over the course of more than one year. Mr. Coleman was always available to answer questions and made numerous trips down to the house to meet with us. On the few instances where a finish was different than wanted, he immediately redid the piece. His knowledge of restoration requirements was impressive, and he also worked well with the insurer to ensure that what needed to be done was done and that we were reimbursed. The people that worked with Mr. Coleman at Tinker and Company uniformly were pleasant and professional. I would not hesitate to recomend Tinker & Company for furniture, metal and artwork restoration. I feel that we were very lucky to have ended up with Tinker & Company. I recommend Tinker & Company with no reservations at all.

Joey was very quick to come pick up antiques and bar furniture that were damaged due to water. They restored the pieces back to their original look, and some pieces even looked better. I was so pleased especially with the antiques that are irreplaceable and have been in the family for so long. I have several other antiques that I plan on having them restore. They are currently reupholstering two antique chairs and I know they will turn out just as nice.

Work was excellent. Communication was not perfect, but did not matter in the end. I would certainly use them again.

We have not gone in to choose fabric yet - but we have been very happy with the process so far. They quoted us approximately $500 per chair, which is in-line with what I've heard elsewhere. We got this quote months ago - and I honestly had forgotten all about it, even though they have our chairs. We've had a lot going on - but Tinker very patiently waited for us to contact them. When I finally did call them they knew exactly what I was referring to and invited me to come in on Saturday. Very nice old Richmond company - we look forward to working with them soon.

I had a new bed frame that my wife and I had purchased from another company for my daughter for Christmas. I went to her place to put this together and the threads to the screws and nuts to put this together from the rail to the head board got stripped and one of the screws broke off inside of the head board. I researched on Angie's List and took what I had to Tinkers and Company. Mark from Tinkers met with me and I explained that I had stripped the threads on the inside of the head board and broken one of the screws inside of the head board. Mark told me that he should be able to get this fixed for me. Mark did fix all of the issues with this and found out that the threads on the screws were completely different from the threads on the nuts inside of the frame which is what caused the problems. Mark went over all of this in detail with me and told me that this was the fault of the company where I purchased this from for giving me the wrong threaded screws for the installation. Mark was GREAT to work with and did an EXCELLENT JOB fixing the problems. Because of Mark's GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and his EXPERTISE to fix the problems I will have Tinker and Company in my contact list and will refer them every chance that I get. I have an old bed that needed repairing. I called Tinker on a Thursday, and they came out on Friday to check out my bed and give me an estimate. The following Tuesday they came to take my bed to their workshop. About 4 weeks later, they brought my repaired furniture back. The bed is totally sturdy, whereas it was very rickety before the repair. They was impressed by their quick responsiveness and their excellent work. They were great to deal with, and I will call them again the next time I need furniture work done.

The person that looked at my chair seemed to think he could fix it and I left it with them for several weeks. When I went to pick it up, I was very pleasantly surprised. I looked wonderful!

It was a very good experience. They were very good and helpful. It took a little longer than I'd like, but it was a great result in the end.

I had no idea what to do when one of my bed frames was damaged due to it not being properly secured when we set it up after being in storage for several years. The bed frame is a family heirloom that I kept to eventually give to my children. Through a number of calls that began with an Angie's List member, I eventually found the appropriate type of business - furniture repair. Trying to figure out how to repair the section of the damaged bed frame required some and quot;thinking outside of the box.and quot; That said, Tinker came up with a solution that allowed me to salvage the original frame and set it up so that you would not even notice the repair. They also repaired a chair that I had begun working on and simply made a big mess. Fortunately, you can tell that Tinker uses well honed craft skills that I honestly did not realized are still available. I would not hesitate to recommend Tinker and I know that I will use them again.

Fantastic! When I first phoned, they invited me to visit their operation. I was given a brief tour which allowed me to see how carefully they inventory your precious items and shuffle them from one operation to the next. They not only refinish, but can replace hardware with period/piece appropriate parts. Even though I'd had a recommendation from someone I trusted, I started by having them refinish one piece. Wow! They were quickly given several more pieces for refinishing. They did warn me on one piece that the cost to refinish and repair would be about the price of buying the same piece (but these were gifts from grandma, so I told them to go for it!) Grandma's fold down desk with secret drawers, etc., went from a painted white mess to an incredible piece that faces the entry to my home. This operation is incredible and I couldn't have been more pleased!

They do excellent work, but are very expensive. It was well worth it though. I am just happy that my insurance company paid the bill for me. I chose this company because of the comments on Angie's List. The comments were exactly right.
