Description of Work: The Maids of Richmond came to my house to do a deep cleaning in January and have been coming every two weeks for maintenance cleaning. Each maintenance cleaning costs $200. They do a very thorough job. And since they send four people it is completed very quickly and efficiently. So far I am very happy with the service.

We offer residential and commercial services for all types of cleaning needs inside homes or offices, but nothing outside.

Description of Work: We have used The Maids for over six years. Within the past 12 months the rate of broken or missing objects has increased dramatically. Lately, this has occurred in three of the last four visits (receive service monthly). None of the items are expensive, just precious to us. Each time we contacted the supervisor resulting in a call to the cleaning team and denials all around. We reiterated, on the phone and in person, that while having breakage occur can be heartbreaking, all we ask is that the pieces be saved and a note be left or that we be informed. To their credit, we have been offered discounts. Not what we asked for. It is sad to have to look for a new service but, it is why we are Angie's List members.

Unfortunately, breakages do occasionally happen. During training, we stress to our employees that they are not personally penalized when they break something, so it is in their best interest to let us know right away. Once we know something has been broken, we contact the customer as soon as possible in order to resolve it. We value the bond of respect and trust we have with our customers.

Description of Work: Couple of very concerning actions by the staff: I arrived home just as they were finishing up and getting ready to leave. 1. I called the office a couple days after the cleaning, to find out how much the total bill came to. I was curious because our laundry room door was shut(as I usually leave it shut so I don't hear the washer) so they completely didn't clean the laundry room or half bath that was behind the closed door. I was never told that it was their policy not to open doors and also thought the cleaners should have questioned this situation when they saw the order showing the number of bathrooms that they were supposed to clean. The main point here is not that they didn't clean a couple rooms nor question the fact that there were less rooms to clean, BUT that the lady I spoke with at the company said that I had authorized a $60 tip!! I never authorized any tip so their cleaners were dishonest! Of course the tip was refunded to me and the person I spoke with apologized for that. 2 They broke an expensive bottle of cologne and took the bottle with them so I didn't know which brand it was so I could either replace it or ask them to. The cleaners are supposed to turn broken items into the office when they return but they had also failed to report that incident to their manager! Thank goodness they don't have a key to the house!

Our Satisfaction Guarantee allows us to reclean any areas you feel were missed, when you call to let us know about them within 24 hours of the clean. Because we respect the privacy of our customers, and because customers sometimes choose to contain pets in a room during cleaning, it is our policy not to open doors. Our Field Manager was present at the end of the clean to do a walkthrough with you to check the house and the quality of the clean. We try to do this with every First Time Clean to ensure that no areas are missed. We apologize that the cologne bottle was broken during the clean. The Field Manager also discussed this with you, and it was reported to the office. We would have been happy to replace the item, but you told us not to worry about it. We did clean up the spill and broken glass. Had you expressed a wish to keep the pieces, we would have left them with you. We are sorry for any confusion regarding the tip. The $60 was refunded to you promptly. Please note: we never ask for tips, and the Field Manager, who went over the bill with you at the end of the clean, does not get any portion of tips earned from the cleaning.

They did a great job. Several women came and they cleaned from top to bottom, the basement and the rooms upstairs on the main floor. They did extra for me as well. They worked steadily and did not take a break or anything. They continuously worked until they were done.
Description of Work: They cleaned my mom's home for me. The work was from 12:30-5:00 for $140.00 an hour.

She is bonded which is nice to know if she should break something it will be replaced. She is a trust worthy person and I trust her with a key to my house. She will even take the dog out and bring in the mail if I'm out of town. She is just a treasure.

I had been using them for about 2 years, and the first group of women they had coming did a great job and it was the same girls every time. Then they started sending different people every time and none of them spoke English. When I finally decided to quit using them is when they broke a very expensive lamp and never told me about it. I walked in my room to turn it on and noticed it was broken, all the mess was cleaned up but no one ever told me about it. I think that was just pure dishonesty.
Description of Work: They come out once every five weeks to clean the house. They do things like sweep, mop and clean the bathrooms and all the other rooms in the house.
