The Maids of Richmond

The work performed was excellent. The maids were very kind and did an amazing job. We have no complaints about the work that was performed. The only issue we had was with the price. We were told the work would take between 1.5 and 2 hours. They finished right under the two hour mark. The quote that was given was between $190 and $290. In the end we were charged $340. Next time I require house cleaning I’m going to shop around more.

I would tell someone that they are efficient, dependable, and the price is appropriate for the services. The workers are very professional. There is a mild language barrier, but they are very professional.

I hired The Maids to do a move in cleaning for our new house. Setting everything up was very easy, and I chose to go with them because they said they pay attention to detail and clean where others skip. They called the day before to remind me of the appointment and showed up on time. Our power actually had not been turned on yet, so I understood they wouldn't be able to vacuum and some parts of the house may be harder to clean without lights. However, areas of the house that were well lit (they came early in the morning and our house has plenty of natural light) did not get cleaned. The cupboards were sticky, ceiling fans and window sills were not dusted, etc. Overall, they did a good job in cleaning the house, but I was just expecting a deeper cleaning from the price they charge and since I had requested a move in cleaning - not just a general cleaning.

They are more expensive than other services, but their workers are more proficient and thorough. They send a team of ladies, and with two of the three teams, I had excellent results. With the third team, I noticed large areas of kitchen cabinet exteriors had not been cleaned and I sent photos to the office. They had another team out there the next day to resolve the issue. They were responsive to my requests, with the exception of I expected to get a follow up or confirmation call the night before the service and that did not happen. The manager of their office seemed a little flakey about returning calls, but the office staff was excellent. They did seem to be having some phone issues, so maybe it was just bad timing.

On time, very convenient, and exceptionally thorough. Yes, The Maids are more expensive than other cleaning services in Richmond and they take longer to complete their cleaning, but you get what you pay for and nothing is left unclean. This is the only service I've used that A) consistently and thoroughly cleans floors; B) cleans baseboards; C) moves objects to clean around and underneath them.

I have been a customer for almost two years. I am so impressed with the service and professionalism of the cleaning service provided by The Maids. I started with them when my husband and I both had cancer & treatments and couldn't keep up with the housework. They come in once a month, sanitize the bathrooms and do an amazing job of cleaning, including the microwave! Beds are made, railings are wiped down - it is a thorough cleaning. The house even smells clean when I come in. Service has had the same high quality every time they have cleaned. I highly recommend this service to anyone who wants a group who is excellent and trustworthy.

The Maids sent a 4-person cleaning crew to do the service. They showed up 20 minutes late which irritated me because I had 3 hours max to devote to the cleaning. I have 3 bedrooms (two of which are never used so they only required a light dusting, at best). There are two full baths and a half bath. I do have hardwood floors throughout which can be a pain to clean. At the 1:30 mark, they had only cleaned 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom and half of the kitchen. They hadn't even started on the floors which is the only thing that I really wanted them to focus on. When I pointed out that they need to hustle, one girl pointed to the trim on top of the door frame to show me how clean it was. *blank stare* Who cares about the tops of door frames??!! When time was up, they had rushed through a floor sweep and mop. They never even touched the living room, the guest bath or the powder room!! FOUR people couldn't clean a house in 2 hours??!!...a house that wasn't even that dirty to begin with? When I called to complain they apologized and knocked $60 off the $360 bill. That doesn't even begin to fix the issue. So, I spent the weekend cleaning a house that I paid $300 for someone else to clean?? Unacceptable! While they were all pleasant, I think the issue is time management. I honestly have no idea what they were doing upstairs for so long. Regardless, I would NEVER use them again. Be warned.

I've been very happy with the service I've received from The Maids, both in my current home and previously in an apartment on the West End. The Maids bring a four-person cleaning team and crank through my home in about an hour. The cleaning is always very consistent and I've never noticed any corners cut. The Maids are a bit pricier than some of their competitors but I'm happy to pay more for a thorough cleaning.

They are pricey but you get what you pay for. I really like.

I have used The Maids for more than 4 years. The team always arrives within the given time frame and does a wonderful job. I get service on the shared living spaces, kitchen and all baths in my home. One day I returned home before the team was finished and I saw that not only was my floor vacuumed but also the door frame! I have to say this company has been so flexible with my families varying schedule. I have never had a problem rescheduling service and the company is prompt with returning messages. Caren and Daniella are professional and polite on the phone and work hard to accommodate my requests.

The Maids are great. We have used their services for several years. On the rare occasion there was a problem, Lynn was quick to resolve it. We would highly recommend them.

They did a very good job! They were friendly and quick and did a good job. They even did it at short notice. They worked and coordinated to make sure they got done what I needed done. Pricing was about what I expected. They were there early.

I had initially requested a quote online. The lady I spoke to when making the arrangements for the cleaning asked me where I lived (my zip code). She told me they don't service that area, however, on their website, my zip code is listed. She said they would do a one time cleaning. I had selected them because they had advertised "a ridiculously, thorough cleaning." That is not what I received. Overall, the house was cleaned, but there were several areas that had not been taken care of. My office copier machine had not been touched, you could see the dust all over it as well as other areas in there were missed. I noticed additional places in the family room (like lamps that had not been dusted). Not all of the trash cans has been emptied either. I assumed someone would call me after the cleaning to check to see how it went, but I never heard from anyone. I don't believe this cleaning is worth the extreme price they charge.

These people do an exceptional job cleaning my house in a quick and efficient way. They pay special attention to a different room each time and do a good job go protecting my belongings. They rarely break things and if they do they own up to the mistake and reimburse me for replacement. They are flexible when vacation causes me to need to reschedule.

The service went like clock work. I never had any problems with the workers and I could trust them. They were quiet and very professional. I never felt I had to look over their shoulders. They were cheerful, always on time, and were very thorough. I recommend them as A+ in every category.

The Maids are friendly, prompt, and very efficient. They do a great job! I have had cleaning help in the past, but the ladies that came to my home are the best so far. I have them come once a month. I will recommend them, and am happy to have them.

They are quick. They send the same team every week. They are efficient to the point of cleaning baseboards, crown moldings, and even picture frames. As far as I can tell, they are as honest as the day is long.

Everything worked out wondrously. They do a very nice job.
