+ -1 moreNew-to-me clocks working fine. Very satisfied that he did not take my money on clocks he thought were non-repairable. He is an artisan I respect and trust.
Description of Work: Purchased 3 vintage clocks with character on separate occasions. Refused to accept for service vintage banjo clock because it was too involved for him (same as several other clock repair shops). Nobody wants to work on vintage banjo clock with westminster chime. Also refused to accept for service three vintage clocks which were too worn/dirty and said repair was snot cost effective. He di not want to take in a clock he did not think he could get running well enough to stand behind his work.

Description of Work: I first brought my prized mantel clock to Mr. Ahmed about 8 years ago when a more well known shop in Richmond could not fix it. He fixed it then, fixed it again when a relative incorrectly got the hour hand out of adjustment, and just now completed an oil and service routing

+ -1 moreMr. Ahmed told me all about the clock when I dropped it off. He said that he could fix it and told me exactly what needed to be done. When he called to say it was ready he did tell me that it was a bit more to repair than his original estimate. When I stopped at his shop to pick it up, he let me listen to the chiming and then explained how to set and reset the hands. A few days later he called to see how everything was working. That was nice. This was a costly repair, but the clock has much sentimental value and I am happy with the result. The shop is a bit messy, but don't let that deter you. Mr. Ahmen knows his craft. I would use him again.
Description of Work: Mr Ahmed repaired an electric chime clock that was given to my parents as a wedding gift in 1948. Another place wanted to replace the original works with a quartz movement but that wasn't what I wanted. Mr. Ahmed knew all about the clock and warned me that it would be expensive to fix. But I chose to have him fix it anyway and the clock is now on my mantle keeping excellent time and chiming just as it used to.
