+ -1 moreThey looked at it for less than a second and determined that it needed a complete overhaul. Their estimate was $295.00. I told them I liked the clock, but it was not worth $295.00. I left. I then took it to another clock repair place who removed the back while I was there. He found that the weight to the pendulum had fallen off. He put it back on, wound the clock and it worked. A week later it is still working--glad I didn't spend the $295.00!!

Description of Work: Serviced a clock in 2011. As a result of our move to SC in November 2011, a pendulum was lost. I returned to this shop and they provided a pendulum for that clock in 2014 at almost no cost. I think $5. We've used them, when it was possible both times we lived in the Richmond area.

+ -1 moreThis was simply an outstanding experience. Can you believe I could wait for the works of the watch to be replaced, other places have to send it out and then there is a 2 week wait. What a nice gentleman, and very skilled. He doesn't accept credit or debit, so bring cash or check.

They immediately completed the repair and was ready within an hour of my call. Very pleased with repair and would definitely would use them again.

Description of Work: Got a part and then lots of advice both onsite at the shop and then by phone. Very helpful in getting a grandmother clock restarted and running.

Description of Work: I needed new batteries in two watches, and I was helped promptly; the cost was $21.00. However, I had to return two hours later when I noticed one of the new batteries had stopped working. The same person waited on me. She checked that the battery still had life in it, re-set the watch, and told me that if, in 24 hours, it was not working, she would refund the cost of that battery to me. During the second visit, I also purchased a "re-sale" watch for $57.75. The store looked fine with everything in good order and what seemed like a broad selection of watches and clocks.
