+ -1 moreATTENTION! THIS CONTRACTOR ALSO DOES BUSINESS AS WHAT'S UP DOC ROOFING AND HOME RENOVATION. Licences for both business are in the name of the same person Donald D Spellman, the very same that took my down payment and did not do the work.
Description of Work: NEVER USE THIS CONTRACTOR! DO GET VERY RECENT REFERENCES DON'T EVER GIVE A DOWN PAYMENT, no matter the BBB or other agency rating. This contractor gave me an estimate of full roof replacement for $7,400. My roof is 5-8 years old but because of a persistent leak the contractor convinced me to change the whole roof to fix the problem. This was on June 3, 2010. He collected a down payment to 50% ($3,700) to start the work around June 10, 2010. I had recommendation from a neighbor satisfied with the work done years ago. This contractor was a BBB rate A and did not have a history of complaints with the VA DPOR. Materials were never delivered and the work not performed. On August 9, 2010 I told him I was no longer interested in his services due to unjustified delay. He agreed in refunding me of the down payment. Until today (10/26/2010) I have not received my money back. The BBB downgraded him to D- and the VA DPOR has started an investigation. Chesterfield police is also on the case.
