The work crews that Sermat send to your home are shady. There crews broke a marble vanity, an ornamental picture frame, and a potted plant; and known jewelry went missing after their crews were at our house. The owner, Ryan, has not returned any messages to suggest options for the multiple incidents. One of the crew members also laughed and joked about the damage to the marble vanity minutes after it occurred. In short, beware of this company. They are shady and will probably remove this post to keep their reputation in tact.

Like it never even happened! I also had them do some unrelated plumbing work and also install a bathroom exhaust fan. They did a good job with everything.

Fine. Repairs were done professionally and in a reasonable amount of time.

Fire due to lightning on 4/24/2014. Sermat was recommended by adjuster hired by homeowner. Delay of up four weeks before Ryan Haskell responded. Close to soliciting another contractor for job. Significant upgrades to home with overall good work by electrician, painter, flooring contractor Venetian Marble and Bath and Kitchen works.. Large amount of funds available. Very difficult to follow expenditures. Several items purchased reflected little adjustment in "contract". Time to complete job and return home to owner excessively long. Fire in April 2014. Reoccupied home June 2015. Very strained communication line with Sermat at the management level. Office personnel and site foreman,who was moved into the office due to defections, were courteous and had concern for customers needs. If you desire a close professional working relationship with your contractor, consider another firm.

Overall work performed in 2013. Tried to fix some problems during the year. Found another leak in 2014 and called to see ideas on what/if same leak et al. Original project mgr had left company. I left 7 messages to have someone call me back. All the messages were left with a real person answering the call and I'm sure they passed on the messages to Jim (?). NO RETURN CALL. 7 CALLS EXPLAINING I JUST WANTED TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE TO SEE THEIR THOUGHTS.....NO RETURN CALL. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. WILL NOT USE AGAIN. BEWARE.

I was happy with most of the work. They contract almost everything out. They work with this electrician, didn't get company name, but he was rude, and I don't think he realized, african Americans make green money that spend the same as Caucasian customers. The plumber they work with, had to come back about 5 times. My toilet wobbles, had leaks, etc. The painter was good. The laborers they use didn't know anything, but they were friendly and worked hard.

We had a sewer backup flood from a toilet and our homeowner's insurance company recommended Sermat to restore our kitchen, utility and half bath flooring/baseboards. A separate company called Servpro (collaborated with Sermat Construction) took up damaged vinyl flooring, disinfected and dried our subflooring, cleaned and disinfected the heat/AC system and replaced all the affected ducts attached to our floor vents. Sermat's whole team worked very well together and did a great job in each area of service. They installed new baseboards/trim and vinyl sheet flooring. The baseboards were stained well to match our original color of the wood. Giving the walls a fresh coat of paint was included but I decided to do it myself because I couldn't decide on a new color yet to go with our new floor. Sermat's supervisor, Chuck, was a pleasure to work with and considering my hearing impairment, I was impressed when he took the extra time to accommodate my communication needs. The reason I gave a B for punctuality is not about crew being late which is not the case. It's just there was a backorder delay in getting our flooring material which he said was unusual to happen. Though he diligently worked with making our scheduling smooth as possible and often kept me well informed with the updates. The complicated process was interesting and we were pleased with the detailed attention they gave and everything looks great.

The actual work that they completed was very good, and I really appreciated that they provided me with a temporary kitchen sink while the project was underway. However, they weren't very organized and had poor supervision of their subcontractors. As an example, part of the kitchen remodel included the installation of a pantry which required the relocation of a light switch and door bell. When the contractor came to start construction of the pantry, I had to inform him that the electrician hadn't come to move the switch or the door bell which he hadn't realized. Thus, he had to make several emergency calls to find an electrician. What's more is that the electrician had to leave abruptly and left a live wire exposed. Additionally, they mistakenly threw away the kitchen sink that was to be installed which cost nearly $400, and they wouldn't have realized it if I hadn't brought it to their attention. The painters also destroyed the phone connection in my kitchen when they removed the phone in order to paint the walls, and it took the company some time to rectify this issue. I also noticed that my Bose radio had been taken, yet Sermat claims it wasn't the painter they sent after conducting an internal investigation. Scenarios such as these were prevalent for the entire duration of the project, and I had to supervise most of the work to make sure it was completed appropriately. Ultimately, they did a beautiful job with the floors and the kitchen, but they need to work on their organization and communication practices.

Good experience overall. Went really well. They are very timely and will work hard to make it affordable for you.

The work that the guys have performed so far has been good. They've all been very nice and helpful. They've been really polite and everything. Communication has been a little slow but lately, it has picked up. They tried to do everything they could to make it positive. They've been really pretty good and very understanding as far as meeting our needs.

After receiving the estimate on October 31, 2012 I called to talk to Mr Ryan Haskell about the estimate. He never returned my calls. I emailed him Novermber 22, 2012, and quot;Thank you. (for the estimate that he emailed earlier) I have left you several messages with your office to call me. I have some questions with the estimate that I would like to go over with you. Please call me at...and quot; I did get an email reply to my email inquiry November 26, 2012, it read: and quot;Sorry about that I was slammed with all the jobs that had to be completed by thanksgiving I will give you a call today.and quot; I am still waiting for that call. I orginally called them because they did repair work when our hot water heater sprung a hugh leak. Our insurance company referred them to us. So, I thought that since they did do a really great job on the repair of our half bath, the hallway and some of the unitlity room that they would do a really great job on our main bathroom as well. I guess if the insurance company isn't paying for it you don't get a second look. I also thought that the estimate was written on the high price side so they would not have to do the work. Hey, it's only one room. I will not call them for any kind of work that this company does.

They did an adequate job on my roof, but they weren't very prompt in getting back to me. They took too long to respond with an estimate. I probably wouldn't use them again.

Sermat was recommended by our insurance company to handle repairs from a major water leak in our main level half bathroom. Sermat construction came out and did a thorough damage assessment an walked us through a detail description of the repairs that needed to be made. All of their work crews were professional and arrived as scheduled. Repairs took a little longer than expected (about two months) but this was largely due to Hurricane Irene which occurred about two weeks into the repairs and swamped the work load for Sermat. Work performed included drywall repair and replacement, heating duct replacement, lighting and fan fixture replacement, Installation of new hardwood flooring in three rooms on the main level and painting of the entire basement and affected rooms on the main level. We were kept well informed throughout the project and they always responded promptly to questions and concerns. All work was completed to our satisfaction. Six months later we are still very happy with the work they did.

They did a good job. They were very reliable. I would use them in the future.

They were not perfect but they were very good. I will use them again in the future.

They were recommended to us by our insurance. They were very skilled and they did an excellent job. I can't fault their work but there were a number of timing issues.

We have a bay window, and the rain poured in over the bay window. It was a nightmare. I was amazed at the damage that water could do. Our insurance company recommended Sermat Construction Services as the people we should use. My husband probably looked them up on Angie’s List to make sure they had good reviews. I would definitely recommend them. They had a team of people come in, and they packed us up because they had to move all the furniture out. They had to put us up in a hotel for a week while they redid the floors and repainted the living room and dining room. They also fixed the leak on the exterior, which was actually due to a flaw in the brick work that is above the window. It was all handled seamlessly. I was amazed and very impressed. When it came to unpacking everything, they were really good at it. We have a library full of books, and they unpacked all the books for us and put them on the shelf in approximately the same places where they were. They were very good - very responsive and professional. The insurance company paid the bill. It has been about two years since the work was done and it has held up. It looks delightful. We would use them again in the future if necessary.

I needed a general construction firm to do the work and I think they subcontracted within their company. The work turned out very well. They did a little bit of everything. They were responsive and the work was good. The workers were diligent and they showed up when they said they were going to. We had some delays, but that is because it has been a big project. It was through insurance and the price was about $16000.00. It was quite a lot of work. To be honest, I have nothing to go by on their price. They agreed to the insurance estimate and that's all I know. The quality of work was pretty high. There were a couple of things with cleanup that I had to pursue.

We were really impressed from the start with the level of detail of Sermat's bid. It was completely itemized, so we could see where to save or to spend, and the consequences of each. They were willing to wait to begin the work until all materials were in hand, thereby reducing the overall construction time. We sourced about 2/3 of the finished materials and they were fine with that. Every day of the project our house was left clean and organized. The workmen were very professional. We insisted on many non-standard features (read high-end) in this space and everyone was very accommodating and open to not doing things the same old way. That was nice. Especially when it came to green remodeling, they were very open to working with us.

It went well. They came out, they gave me a quote, they did exactly what I asked them to do, sticking by their quote. They were also quick to respond and after they made it out they were quick with their work.

Outstanding experience for a kitchen renovation. Price was of prime importance to me and Sermat did not try to 'up-sell' me on any product or service. These guys came in about 40% under one of the specialty 'kitchen remodeling' outfits. The work was performed on time and in a professional manner. I have high praise for Billy Abato and the rest of the company.

They did a super awesome job. My kitchen was done to my liking and they showed nothing but professionalism when dealing with us. They showed up every morning very early and ready to work. They handled the pressure of the job really well. If I had any questions they had the answer and dealt with us as if we were top priority. They cleaned up all of the mess too.
