I signed a contract with RTR Contractor to do the bid in the home. I asked him as I felt he was a great real estate agent and I trusted him, I wanted to give him an opportunity to earn additional money upon completion as that was what we agreed upon. My original contractor stepped out as he fell ill with prostate cancer. Vahe Matthew Ghazarian who sold me the home is also the President of this RTR Contractor Inc company and when I received the check from the bank I gave the check to Matt Ghazarian. This was a foreclosure and it required a 203K streamline loan. They give you a percentage up front and the contractor is supposed to pay for everything and then the final draw check would be sent to both parties. I had difficulty getting approved for a mortgage at first because I still have a home in NY, nonetheless, I would have gotten approved with or without Matt Ghazarian who was kind to step in. I gave Matthew Ghazarian the check as agreed so he can begin the work. I also made it perfectly clear to Matt that at no time are there to be any illegal immigrants, not legally allowed to be in the US in my home. I can get in big trouble for that. I have no issue paying a "legal citizen of the US" but I will not take money and/or jobs from a law abiding tax paying citizen to save money and cut corners. Matt Ghazarian had a very big issue with this and told me and my husband that "they, being illegals will work for less and will live in your house for 2 weeks" I found this to be insulting. Matt insisted I was a racist against hispanics.... If he knew better, an "illegal immigrant" is not always hispanic, furthermore, Mr. Ghazarian apparantly doesnt know I come from a hispanic back ground. After 2 months of Mr. Ghazarian having my money and failing to perform the work as agreed by our contract, I terminated our agreement in February as I legally have the right to do, and I demanded my money be returned. Mr. Ghazarian refused to return my money and I sued him in court and I won my judgement against him. I won this judgement on 7-11-2012 at the Spotsylvania General District Court. As I looked closer into this situation, I saw that Mr. Ghazarian has over 20 judgements against his company, himself and other company names he has used and bankrupted. I went to court on 6-26-2013 with my attorney and we did an Debtor Interogatorries. Mr. Ghazarian stated to me that he didnt know where my money was and he put it in the corporation to survive. I know I will never get my money back, but what I can do, is make everyone aware of his past and his work ethics. These documents can be viewed online at the VA Judicial Court System. You can select each county and you can research the judgements. Its very sad that hard working individuals are forced to foreclose their homes or live in a mess due to crooked Contractors. Had i not had a close friend step in and and do the work, the bank would have defaulted my mortgage demanding payment upfront, forcing me to foreclose to allow this real estate agent/contractor another opportunity to make more money. Innocent victims are taken advantage of everyday, People like this should and must be stopped. Beware folk, always do a back ground check and check references and court records.
Description of Work: This provider sold me the forclosed home at the listed price, I actually paid 100 over to ensure I would get the home. He then stepped in as a contractor. Conveniently he is a real etstate agent AND a Class A contractor. Conflic of interest?
