Pennington asked for my work to be placed at the end of their queue, anticipated return reply in 8-10 months, as my work was not "critical" in comparison to the remainder of their jobs. After 14 months, I returned call to USAA trying to find out the state of the work. Pennington at the time indicated an apology they missed me in their schedule and asked that I be placed once again at the rear of their queue rather than up front owing to damage from the Durecho in 2012. Since that time, they have again ignored and not followed up on handling my work. As of this writing I am working with a different contractor.
Description of Work: If I could rate Pennington at zero stars, I would; entirely for lack of communication. Pennington was obtained via USAA to handle an insurance issue after hurricane damage introduced water infiltration into my home. After providing a quote, we agreed to have them do the work accordingly.

The estimators came promptly and we signed the usual form for the insurance company. And that was it. After a couple of weeks we called Pennington to ask about the status of our work order and were told we'd receive a call back that afternoon. We didn't, so we called again a couple of days later. No return call was received. And a few days after that, again with no return call. The insurance adjustor called on our behalf as well. When we called last Friday, we were told that Mr. Pennington himself would call on Monday about the job. It's now Wednesday and we've heard nothing. NONE of our calls has ever been returned! The insurance adjustor is canceling the job with Pennington as I type this. I can't testify to the quality of their work because they never did any work for us. I will not pursue this repair because no one at the company will call to discuss it.
Description of Work: After our water heater, which was located in the attic, malfunctioned and spilled its contents on the attic floor, the water soaked through the garage ceiling, causing large chunks of the sheetrock to fall. Pennington Construction sent two men out to look at the damage, and we were told that an estimate would be sent to our insurance company and we would be contacted about schedulng the work.

I now have a pile of wood in my living room. I never signed a contract with them, and they wouldn't respond to me until I threatened to find someone else. Then, they told me to go ahead with another company. I just feel this is not the way to do business. I am extremely disappointed and hurt because I thought we had a good working relationship. It almost feels like a betrayal. Project manager said that I had problems with my subfloor, so they would have to pull-up and replace alot more floor than necessary. I hired Costen Floors to do the job (completed in 3 days vs 2 months' delay). Costen Floors' employee told me that there was nothing wrong with my subfloor, and only needed to use 8 pieces out of the huge bundle of wood.
Description of Work: I originally had them out 2 and a half years ago because some damage was done due to vandalism, and there was water damage. The floor in my foyer had to be completely replaced. They had to resand and refinish the entire floor. I was very pleased with their work. Fast forward to January of this year: a pipe broke and the pipe who replaced the pipe had to cut a 9 by 12 inch hole in the same floor. I've been trying to get Pennington Construction to come back and do the work for me. The insurance adjuster originally told me they would have to replace the entire floor. I told them no and asked them just patch the floor. They said they would have to "sew the floor in" and resand the entire floor. I wanted them to just reuse some of the wood. I did not want to have to pack up my entire first floor again to have the floor resanded. There are 17 units that share a heating system where I live, so we had to coordiniate between Pennington and the plumber, so I had to act as the go-between. I kept trying to get in contact with the lead contractor at Pennington. He used to call me right back, within an hour's time. Since this all started, I've called every single day, but they still will not return my calls. Finally, today, after I threatened to find someone else, they called me back and told me they didn't want to do the job. Their reasoning was because I would not let them do what they felt was best. I feel like once they found out it was a small job, I dropped to the bottom of their list.
