Description of Work: Cleaned the kitchen and the bathrooms. the provider (Nora)and her associate were very personable and were very organized and conscientious in the work. I was pleased with the results and intend to engage them again. Granted, these impressions are from only one event. However, I was pleased with that result and from this I would certainly endorse their service.

Description of Work: Nora is a very likeable and trustworthy person and she wants to do a good job. |I had a cleaning business in my twenties so I know how to clean and I have high standards, but a bad back prevents me from housecleaning anymore. | I left a detailed list for top to bottom cleaning - it was only two-thirds completed. Nora has a style of cleaning where she moves around furniture, in an effort to be thorough. However, they left in such a hurry, while I was not there, that when I returned there was furniture for me to have to lift to return to different rooms, items misplaced and a big bag of trash in the middle of the floor!#? |I called and e-mailed to express my displeasure. I did appreciate that Nora called and offered to return to do one room that was not done. |The overall experience was a "C" rating, but I sense that Nora is capable of A/B grade work. Unfortunately, her "non-deal" prices are unreasonably high for "man hours". She and Carson are such likeable people that you want to work with them....we'll see. |

Description of Work: These folks were great. Not only did they do a great job as far as cleaning, they had a happy attitude, friendly but professional. They were easy to deal with, understood what needed to be done this time. They will definitely be back for my housecleaning needs!

Description of Work: I bought the service as a present for my wife. She was very pleased with the service provided. They performed some deep cleaning and took some of the pressure of preparing the house for company for the upcoming holiday season.

Description of Work: Purchased the deal on November 8th and could not get either of my requested clean dates of November 25th or December 17th after a few calls and emails.They did offer December 18th, but my company will already be here for the holidays.Nora said that only specific (few) time slots are kept open for 'non-paying' customers (i.e. Angie's List promotional customers). They have good ratings so I assume they do nice work, but with 6 weeks of lead time and no slots available, I guess I'm on my own.

Description of Work: I was supposed to get up to 4 hours of yard work. Two hours of trimming and two hours of weeding. The company is actually Conscious Cuts Universal Services, but for some reason he advertised under his girl friends company Nora the cleaning lady. When I contacted Carson to make the appointment he told me they would do anything I needed, from cleaning out the garage, cleaning the deck to any kind of yard work, just make a list and he and his crew would take care of it. He was supposed to have come on 29 August, but when I contacted him the night before to confirm our appointment he told me he had been bitten on the nose by a spider and had just gotten out of the hospital. That he would come on Sunday or Monday and I said OK, even thought it was labor day weekend, we did not have any plans so it was alright if he wanted to work. He did not show up or call so I called on Tuesday and he said he had just returned to work, so we set an appointment for Thursday 5 September at 9 am. Again he did not show up and when I contacted him he said he would be there at noon that day. I said OK. He contacted me about 11:30 and said his morning job was bigger then he thought and they had not finished and he would need to come the next day. I told him that would not work for me and we would need to reschedule. We set a date for 23 September at 9 am. He did not arrive at 9 am as scheduled and when I contacted him he said he could be there between 12 and 1 that day and once again I said OK. About an hour latter someone called to tell be they would helping him with his schedule and wanted to let me know he did not service my area. I advised her that Carson and I had communicated that morning and he was due at my home between 12 and 1 that afternoon and that his add clearly states he services Hanover County and that Beaverdam was located in Hanover County. She said she would talk to him and call me back. She called back about 15 minutes later and said he would come on a weekend since I was so far out. We set the appointment for 28 September at 9 am. At 9:15 on 28 September I sent Carson a text message asking if he was on his way and did he need directions. He called me and advised that they had about 10 minutes of work left on his current job and then would be on the way. At 9:59 am he sent a text they were on the way. He and his man arrived at 11:40. Since he had advised they would do anything I needed done, I asked if they could remove some left over deck boards off the deck and stack them in the driveway. So he had his worker do that while he started trimming bushes. His worker finished stacking the lumber in a half hour and came to see what he wanted him to do now. He told him to start cleaning up the bush/tree trimmings while he continued to trim. I had a rose of Sharon bush that I did not like and asked if he could dig it up. At first he thought I wanted it dug up to be replanted elsewhere, once he realized that I did not want it moved, he cut it done and dug/cut it out. It was hard work and I had planned to pay him extra for moving the lumber and digging the shrub up, be they had just been here two hours when he said they had to wrap it up, that he had promised his girl friend he would spend time with his family that afternoon. I asked about three other bushes that I was expecting him to trim and he advised he would have to come back. He then wanted to know where they could dump the tarp full of the yard trimmings. I told him there was a place way up they hill, that I normally but stuff in the tractor bucket and my husband took it and dumped it. So my husband came out and got the tractor so they could load it up and dumped it twice and then they left. I was somewhat dumbfounded since I had expected them to be here for four hours. I sent Carson a text on Monday morning saying I hoped he enjoyed his Saturday afternoon with his family. I also asked when he was coming back to finish the job since I was to have gotten two hours of trimming and two hours of weeding. He informed me since I had them do extra stuff that prevented them from completing the job and that I got my four hours, that it was two hours per man. He also said his assistant had tried to tell me they did not service this area and I could get a refund but I why not accept that. If I had been told that when I call to make the original appointment that would have been fine, but not at third scheduled appointment and he had had his money for three months. There was lots of trimmings left in the flower beds that I had to clean up. He also used a chain saw to trim the lower branches of some evergreen trees and I had to use the hand pruners to cleanup the trunks. He thinks his is a better yard worker then he really is. I felt I was ripped up.

Description of Work: I used the "Big Deal" that I purchased for the services of Nora the Cleaning Lady. They cleaned the yard, took the weeds out and trimmed the bushes.

Description of Work: Went fine. No longer needed service performed.

Description of Work: She came, was very polite, told us we were technically out of her service area and that our windows could be cleaned only from the inside because they were not the pull-out type accessible on both sided from the inside. She said we could pay an up charge to have them done on both sides for another $20-$30, or request a refund.

Description of Work: Had received several emails about this deal for pruning and weeding. Ordered the deal and was told I would be notified with 2 days, I think. Was not notified. Received an email from Angies List asking if I had been notified and did I want assistance. Replied Yes. Received email, not to my email address which I had provided, but in the message center that I was not in their service area, but they did good work and for an additional $30 they would come out and do the pruning and weeding. At this point, I was pretty turned off by the company and I declined and asked if they would assist in my refund, they replied I would need to contact Angie's List. So, very impressed with Angie's List; not at all impressed with Nora the Cleaning Lady.
