They did a good job. I didn't give them an A rating on Quality as I had to have them come back out to apply a second coat on a wall in one room that was showing the prior color. They were very prompt, professional, and easy to work with. When I paint other rooms I will definitely work with them again.

When you call to N. Chasen you'll talk to Susan or Becky to get your project started. They are easy to talk to and willing to help answer questions and get you the assistance you need. The phone is always answered, if I call at 6am before I leave for work, Mr. Chasen will answer the phone! Talk about customer service! Why would you go anywhere else???Bob Harris is pleasant, honest, prompt, hardworking and trustworthy. He always returns my phone calls within 24 hours and will show up on time to discuss the project. He will give you suggestions on what can and can not be done, options are good. When I put in the back deck he met me at the supplier so that I could see the products and decide what would work best for me. Not many businesses will go the extra mile to show you they want you to be satisfied with the work they are doing for you. Every employee I have come in contact with has been personable, polite and is sure to ask questions when needed. They have the instructions in front of them upon arrival to the house and they take the time to discuss the 'instructions' to make sure they are doing exactly what you want them to do. I give N. Chasen an A+, I can trust them to do excellent work for a fair price. With N. Chasen you get quality work with outstanding customer service.

They are way too expensive. They were very pleasant and professional. They got back to me fairly quickly with the quote. I will get a quote from them.

Very professional throughout entire process. Their bid was not the cheapest but was reasonable. They showed up on time everyday and cleaned up every day. They needed to do an extra coat of paint (our house was new and so it was sucking into the wall over the builder paint) and they called immediately. quoted a cost for that and stuck to it. It was very reasonable considering it was basically double the work. The carpentry division was really really awesome. We have a very complex at least 5 piece crown in our entry way that we wanted to continue into our living area and add simple crown int he kitchen and a few other places. You can't even tell the difference with the new vs the old. Outstanding quality. Would not hesitate to recommend at all!

They are subcontractors to my company who took the whole work. They take in too much work. The people who do the work are really good, but they are stressed in. They were always on time and very courteous and they did a great job. The boss, Jeremy, was supposed to stain a piece of one of the doors and make sure the color I wanted. That was not what happened. They came in with the stain and stained on the wood. The color was darker than it was supposed to be. I was really upset. I called them to let them know. They finally took out the door and did the in their factory as the door had intricate little details on it. There seems to be communication issue in their shop. I would not use them in the future.

The five hours included time to travel to and from the site, a break and lunch. So, actually worktime was closer to 4 hours. Showed up on time, worked very hard, good work quality. The scope of the work completed was far less than was orginally estimated by the employee I had initial contact, but I was satisfied with what got done. My only complaint was that only one employee did any real carpentry work. The other spent 90% of the time holding a ladder. While I realize this was an important fuction for safety purposes, I think there should be a lesser rate per hour for that person.

They were on time and they did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. They were professional but I wasn’t very satisfied with the quality of their work. I told them what I wanted and they didn’t do it; they didn’t give me the type of wood that I wanted. The painting wasn’t very neat. I probably won’t use them again.

I have used N. Chasen several times before, usually to do repair before painting the house. I needed a facie board replaced adjacent to a roof area and changes to flashing because the flashing installed was too short and allowed the water to hit the house in the wrong place. They came and gave me an estimate. The repair was satisfactorily scheduled to work around my own schedule (I needed to be out of town for a while). Two workers arrived on time, were polite and knowledgeable; they completed their work in less time than they expected. The price above was an estimate. Because I was leaving town, and they used less time than estimated, the workmen said I would get a bill. I have just returned home and have not seen the final bill yet. I continue to use this company because they are thorough and their workmen know their business. When I pay to get a job done I want it done right. I am sure it will be when I use N. Chasen and Son.

Angie's List comments and feedback helped me decide to go with them. Their professionalism, getting in touch with them and punctuality helped me decide to use them. He called when he was 5 minutes late. He's using quality paint, doing good prep work and he meets all my requirements.

All phases were handled efficiently and professional resulting in a quality job by the estimator, painter and office personnel.

EXCEPTIONAL !! Over the past two years I have done extensive repairs and renovations on two houses. Unfortunately, I did not use Chasen on the first house. My experience with so called "good contractors" was horrible. They turned out to basically be a bunch of jack legs, doing inferior work. When I started work on my home this year, I decided to use Chasen because of their Angie's list ranking. And I must say it has been a very pleasant experience. First off, they promptly return phone calls. They show up when they say they will, and if they are running late, they call immediately. Their workmanship is superior. They are neat, courteous, and clean up every day. There is no loud chatter all day and no blaring radios. In a word, they are TRUE PROFESSIONALS. Yes, you will get cheaper estimates. I use the word cheaper because that is what you will get from the cheaper contractors. Chase was a little more than the lower bids, but after the horrible experience I have had with other contractors, I will say they are worth every penny.

We needed to replace an entertainment center that was built into a wall when we originally built our house. I wanted a nice set of shelves with an inset in which to place a new TV. Gary, with Chasen designed a completely new center for me constructed out of oak based on my simply telling him what I was looking for. He and his team built the center off site and then installed it in my "fake" wall in my family room. It is gorgeous. The detail work is quite well done and Gary and his team were very pleasant to work with. The price was in line with other estimates I had gotten however I think the quality of Gary's work far surpassed the quality of the work I would have gotten with others who were going to use pressed wood and build a much smaller center. Overall, I was thoroughly happy with the work done for the price charged. I do not know if Gary is still with Chasen, but I would highly recommend him for any sort of carpentry work.

We had an excellent result with N. Chasen. The painters were courteous, punctual, and cleaned up after themselves each day they worked. It was a large job, involving both carpentry and painting on the exterior of our house. I will use them again when it's time to paint the interior of our home.

Their pricing was very competitive. They were professional. The estimate was thorough and upfront. They followed up and everything was exceptional. Their price was below one or two estimates I had.

The only reason they received a B was the office contact was tough to get a hold of at times and we had to resort to emailing one of the other front office staff to relay messages. The carpenters and painters were exceptional: always on time, very courteous to myself and my family, even agreeing to work their breaks around my infant daughter's nap schedule when possible. They finished ahead of schedule and the work was done very well. This is my contractor of choice for carpentry and handyman type jobs, don't even bother calling others right now.

I was very pleased with the work. They were very professional and did a good job containing the mess and dust from the rest of my house. The results look good. It was very labor intensive work and I think was a good value.

All went very well. This is the second time we've used N. Chasen and we are satisfied again. They were very flexible with timing and ajdusted their arrival schedules to meet our needs. I really feel like they care about the people, it's not just a job. Wonderful company.

The exerience was favorable from beginning to end. The sales rep was courtious and professional. Called before job began to confirm materials and timing. Carpenters showed up promptly and worked straight through the day. Clean and well manored. Kept me appraised of daily progress and what to expect the next day. All in all I was satisfied with the completed job. I do significant carpentry work in my house as a hobby so I do have some knowledge of what good carpentry requires. They did excellent work and were patient in explaining little tips on how to do some of the task. I will definitly use these folks again.

They are conscientious about things. They are going to paint my Mom's house inside. If you have a problem with something they have done they will call you back and fix it. We are satisfied with the results and the price. They didn't come out every day that you thought they would. Sometimes they would show up unexpectedly. They were respectful. They listened to you.

Extremely neat, professional and well done. Punctual, quiet while in our home. Not a speck of paint on my hardwood floors. Fabulous work! I plan to have them do additional painting work, I was so pleased. Estimate was spot on...and they offer a discount for work done during the winter season. I highly recommend them!

I got a quote from them but did not use them. They came out and looked at the job and gave me a quote. I would probably not use them for another project.

They were priced higher than the people that I went with. They were very professional; just expensive. They were responsive. They are very reputable around here.

They have an estimator who prices the work to be performed. Do tell them what the problems are you see, and ask them to tell you of anything they spot which is a problem, which you may have missed. I believe they do honest work, they didn't try to talk me into having work done that I didn't want to do. What you have done will be what you decide. I always get at least 3 estimates on the work I need done.
