Everything went very good. They painted more than I expected. He explained that he could paint the ceiling, which was not expected. So they went above and beyond the call of service. It still looks good today!

Painters showed up on time and did the work. They were able to get us on the calendar last minute and did a big job quickly and efficiently. When asked to come back to do some touch-ups it wasn't a problem at all!

Every person I worked or spoke with at Chasen was professional and courteous. I am confident that their service would have been excellent. However their service quote was significantly higher than others I received, which ultimately swayed my decision away from Chasen.

Everything went fantastic, and the ceiling looks great. They gave me the correct estimate for how long it would take to complete, and they were on time every day they were to come out. I'd highly recommend their services to anyone looking for quality work!

Came by to give estimate on 7-15. Said they would get one to us by 7-16. Have called estimator Jerami Boyce once, and emailed twice, but have received no response. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE GUYS!!

discussed with them..the chair rail but it was of no moment. They moved some very heavy cabinets, covered with tarps other furniture and cleaned up when finished totally. We thought the price they charged was excellent and the quality of the work was also excellent. We would use them again and recommend them highly.

They were excellent to work with and did an excellent work. They were very professional, courteous and cleaned up very well after their work. The work turned out perfect and we were very pleased with their service.

They were very punctual. .However, I had an issue with the paint job. I asked that they scrap and sand the shutters prior to painting. They did not. I thought the price was too high so I asked for an itemized bill. I never received one.

We got this company's name from Angie's List and they were the first one we called for estimates to do trim repairs on the house and painting. We got an estimate from the carpenter and he asked the painting department to send someone out to give us an estimate on painting the house. No one from the painting department called to set up an appointment, so I called them. Two phone calls and voicemails to the painting department were never returned. We got an estimate for both services (carpentry and painting) from another company (also from Angie's List). As it turned out, the estimate for the carpentry work from Chasen was twice what we ultimately paid to have the work done.

Called company to request quote. We needed to replace a front door on an 18 year old home. We also had leaks in french doors at the rear of the home. They immediately scheduled a salesperson to come out to see what needed to be done. Salesperson was professional, polite and very knowledgeable and let us know what needed to be done. They gave us a quote which we accepted, ordered the door and in a week they called back to schedule the carpenter/installer. The carpenter was great and everything was done to our satisfaction.

On time; work was exactly as requested; excellent skill; finished on time; neat cleanup; cost reasonable and as estimated.

I asked for an estimate and they were very prompt in coming out as well as sending the estimate. I have not decided to use them yet but clearly, they are professional.

I would recommend them in a heartbeat. They are professional and skilled. They were able to mimic the rest of the texture of the other ceilings in our home. I got my money's worth in skill and professionalism.

I had bids ranging from $2000 to $5195. For the work I wanted done I was happy to go this route. The cost was on the high side, but I felt worth the cost. Two things were not taken care of to my satisfaction. One area of Japonica was growing in close proximity to the mullioned windows. I thought I was told that these shrubs would be staked away from the house when the painting was done. The shrubs were cut down, instead. Second was my asking for some repair work to be done to soffit trim and vertical Tudor trim. I was told that the work was done, but the areas I was asking for were never worked on. There ay have been other areas that needed attention, however what I wanted wasn't done. Work on window sills was done, but not soffit and vertical trim carpentry replacement and painting.

On both occasions this firm responded to our phone call, came to the residence to give us a detailed list of the work to be done and the price to be charged .They provided skilled workmen that arrived as promised and completed the work as promised. They cleaned up the work area when finished and removed all the trash created.

Horribly; would not recommend them to paint a dog house (see description of services performed)

I called and requested a bid and promptly received a call back to schedule an appointment. They sent two representatives--one to evaluate the carpentry and one to evaluate the painting. They appeared to be quite thorough in their evaluations and we received them promptly. Decided to go with a different contractor, but would definitely call N.Chasen again.

Bob was my contact for the job and he was very easy to work with. The guys he sent were nice and polite. Most of them were very professional. When I had an issue with one, Bob got right on it and had it corrected. We were brand new to town, so I had to rely on Angie's List to find professionals. Now that we've been here a year and are getting to know people who can give us referrals, I'm not completely sure that I would use them again, mainly because their prices were so high. But we definitely got what we paid for and were very happy with them.

It went very well. We had a local guy who was going to install our door. Time had passed and we were just two weeks away from a wedding we were having at our home when the fellow called and explained that he had injured himself so he would not be able to do the work. Disappointed, I went to Angie's List to search for contractors, really not thinking we would be able to get anyone to assist us with such short notice. I called N Chasen, feeling that they would surely be too expensive for mine as well as my husband's liking. I found the staff very professional and helpful. They arranged for an estimator to come within a couple of days. I had purchased paint for our new door, thinking I would do the work. However, knowing that time was running out, I decided to price out the painting of the new door and all other exterior woodwork as well as the installation of the new door. We were satisfied with the price and tickled to hear that the work could be done in time for the wedding (weather permitting). The weather did permit and we found the painter and carpenter to be very polite and personable. They did great work and worked hard to please us. I am thrilled to have been able to use a Richmond icon like N. Chasen and to be able to give a positive review of our experience on Angie's List. One reason I chose N Chasen was that they allowed us to use their 5% off coupon advertised through Angie's List. (on both the cost of painting AND carpentry work). A very positive experience. Oh, and by the way, the wedding was beautiful! Everything was perfect! Thanks N. Chasen and Sons!!

Company was prompt in coming to do assessment. Returned only part of assessment for siding only. For requested pricing for trim & rotted plank replacement, had to call & wait for assessement. Do not like idea of having to deal with 2 separate sections of 1 company.

N Chasen was one of two contractors that quoted on our job and while they were slightly more expensive we decided to go with them based on a past experience. One of the estimates took a bit longer than we would have liked and some things were missed (staining decks) but I discussed it with the estimator and he indicated that it was covered in the quote and so I penciled it in to the contract I sent them. They showed up on time the first day scheduled and went to work. All of the various jobs were well coordinated (some carpentry work had to be done before painting). The painters and carpenters were all very friendly, professional and efficient. One repair that increased the scope of the job came up midway through and they gave us a very fair price for this additional work. The day before the job was complete we noticed that they hadn't stained the deck. The painter on site indicated that it wasn't part of the contract. After a quick call to the original estimator we got the situation straight and they took care of the decks. Great work and customer service. I would definitely recommend and would use N Chasen again!

It went very well. I received an estimate from a project manager who took his shoes off before entering without my requesting it. He understood the work to be done. A contract was written up on the spot, I reviewed it and signed. The workman showed up on time, was professional and friendly. The stain peeped through a day later. I contacted the project manager and in a couple days it was repainted for no additional charge. The stains are gone. Well worth the money.

The Chasen representative came to estimate the job and take measurements of the door. The doorframe is nonstandard so he had to have the manufacturer do custom tooling. When the door arrived, it was delivered by the Chasen carpenter who proceeded to install it. He performed all work necessary to insure a custom, snug fit. He also did additional carpentry on the doorjamb. The estimate of the job, including the price of the customized door and the labor to install it, was very fair. The work was superb, an excellent job by a real professional craftsman. Another home run by Chasen!.

Took them a week to fit our job into their schedule, but the work was done by the deadline for our home sale inspection. All the work they performed on our home inspection repair item list passed the re-inspection.
