Still holding up.

They were very professional. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. They did what they said they were going to do at the price they said they were going to do it. I was extremely pleased with their work and I would highly recommend them. I don't remember the cost.

They are so good. A few years ago I had them paint the front of my house not just the walls but repair, replace and paint the windows and shutters. They did such a magnificent job.

They had to order the door. They were very thorough and they stayed in touch with me. They had to make a couple of calls on my behalf. I was just very happy with the service they delivered. I would use them in the future.

Everything was 100% professional. The initial meeting was on time and an estimate was quickly worked out. On the scheduled day, about six weeks later, the crew of two arrived, set up, and performed the work. The crew was friendly and professional- first rate. They left the grounds clean and free of debris. I am very satisfied with the quality of work. The original estimate was by no means the low bid, in fact they were about 30% above the lowest estimate. Chasen's estimate was for between 1 and 1.5 days to do the work. I'm sure that this was reflected into the price. The crew actually performed the work in a leisurely half day (I was there). Assuming a generous materials cost for 4 pieces of PVC molding ($150) and adding two hours labor to fetch the molding and travel (10 man hours total) the labor and overhead still comes to $112 per hour. This seems a little rich to me. Overall they did a very good job. If you choose to use them, expect to pay top dollar. You should also expect to receive top-quality work and a professional crew. In the future, I will push back more on the estimate or make other contractual arrangements.

The job went well. The carpenters were very professional in both their craft and attitude. They arrived on time and except for lunch and two breaks worked the entire time they were on the job.

I called N. Chasen the first of September, described the work and asked if they could complete the project before the end of September (a requirement). The project manager made an appointment, showed up on time, walked through the rooms taking notes and within 24 hours faxed over an estimate. I agreed, signed the contract and faxed it back. Prior to the appointed work date, I received clear information in the mail describing the work (and break) times, and what the workers planned to do. (Had never seen this from any other company and it was very helpful). The project was completed on time. The painters showed up on time each day, followed their schedule and cleaned up after each day's work. They were polite, attentive to my questions, moved all the heavy furniture, asked me when they had any questions and were enjoyable to have working in the house. At the end of the project, I was given a walkthrough and payment was by invoice after completion of all work.

These people are pros and very easy to work with. They communicate well too. After I decided to go with them, they did all of the prep work at their shop and they did the installation. The worker even made a suggestion on how to channel the water that falls in that area, so that I won't have this problem again.

A representative showed up at the appointed time and gave me an estimate. We then scheduled the work for a week later. They also showed me a different approach in the repair to prevent water from collecting over the door again and completed the work with the improved design.

About the only thing I can say is that they showed up on time to measure the windows, and they were nice enough when they were there. I guess they just didn't want my business.

Chasen & Sons were punctual, polite, and professional. However, they were disorganized, sloppy, and paid no attention to detail. They didn t fill in nail holes either. There was also confusion with the type of paint used. It was too glossy. The supervisor that comes here to arrange the painting was non-responsive and unorganized. The head painter and his crew here were responsive to the problems that we pointed out to them. We actually did some of the corrections ourselves.

N Chasen & Son was a wonderful company to deal with. They are truly trustworthy, friendly and courteous. They did a superb job. They were easy to get a hold of. They were very prompt with their work.
