Description of Work: 52 sq ft of New Caledonia. The service was fantastic. When the backsplash was going to be too big in one location they consulted with us and modified the piece to better fit the spot. The seam is the best seam I have seen in a granite installation, you cannot see it. I am very pleased with the service and highly recommend James River G&M.

Description of Work: I am so glad we took this step and got granite countertops! I could not believe how rapidly it was accomplished! Deborah and her whole family were consummate professionals and the work was done in one week. The granite is beautiful as is the backsplash tiling. Deborah has an eye for design and helped me to make good choices. The counter is super easy to keep clean and I am glad we updated the sink to this one that shows no water spots, even with our hard well water. James River also replaced the old linoleum floor with Duraceramic and its gorgeous ! All this within the estimate and no nasty surprises. My husband and I are thrilled and will use them again.

Description of Work: Run, do not walk, to have this woman-owned-and-operated business to help you with countertops, plumbing, or anything else they offer. I could not have had a better experience. I had them put granite countertops in my kitchen, which is not a huge kitchen, but not a small one either. I had been thinking about using a "discount" granite place, but I read on the reviews on this site that this company would help me with other work that had to be done simultaneously. So not only did they come in, talk to me about options, give me a hard and fast estimate within a day, but within 2 weeks they had someone measure and create a template (i.e. the kitchen is not a standard L shape or otherwise, but it's pretty big; with the island and the breakfast bar and counters, I needed at least +3500 sq feet), suggest a small change or two (like expanding what had been a small counter above the sink to create a breakfast bar - gorgeous), come in with perfectly cut granite and spend a great deal of time ripping out the old countertop without ripping out my drywall simultaneously, then the plumbers came in the next day and spent 4 hours installing the new sink (part of price) and faucet (I paid for that) as well as the dishwasher and garbage disposal I had bought as part of the renovation. And then I received a $500 discount from an Angie's List coupon. So all of this was done for $3600!!! Everyone I worked with or talked with on the phone was fantastic, competent, and proved great people to have in my home. From the first inquiry to the end of the job took less than two weeks. I picked out the slab myself in a warehouse on the east side of the Richmond area. What I especially loved was that I told them I wanted to sell the house and didn't want some huge expensive renovation, just enough to get the kitchen looking as good (now it's better) than a new home might look. They never pressured me to spend a penny I didn't want to spend, or to go with a more expensive granite, etc.. They were on board with what I wanted from the very beginning. The quality of the granite, I would add, is not the kind I see at home depot. It's simple not your standard "new condo ubba tubba" stuff, and I'm speaking of the most affordable class. So really, you might get a slightly lower estimate from someone else, but you will not have a better experience. I would recommend them (and have) not just to anyone, but to EVERYONE.
