The Deborah and the team at James River Granite are wonderful to work with!! They replaced my counter tops and sink without any major issues. They showed up on time for the estimate and the work, and when the installers found a small error in the cutting of the backsplash they had the whole piece re-cut with no fuss, no extra charges, just an honest apology for the job taking a couple of hours longer. If I ever get to build my dream house, they will be the ones to do my counters!! Highly recommend this very professional, polite, team!!

This is the second time I have worked with James River Granite. I called them a couple of years ago to size down a piece of granite counter top for a new stove installation. They were responsive, reasonable and handled the job with tremendous professionalism. Recently, I turned my kitchen peninsula into an island. I called James River Granite again to size down the counter to fit the new layout of the kitchen. They handled the job quickly and professionally. I am so very happy to have such a great company to work with time and time again. They are a top notch team for certain! Thanks once again for the great work!

All services went as well as we expected, unfortunately the plumber was 4 hours late.

Everyone was a pleasure to work with. Very patient and understanding. The price was much better than what I was expecting. Even when the stone yard (not JRG) made a mistake labeling a slab that I had fallen in love with, JRG worked with the stone yard and me to allow me to get the slab that I wanted and kept it within my budget. I changed a few things along the way, and they were great w the changes. Install was incredibly well done- very professional and they made absolutely sure that the entire countertop areas were perfectly level. Just a great job. I don't hesitate to recommend them.

Couldn't have been a more perfect transaction. Deborah was extremely responsive and used her extensive knowledge to guide us through the renovations to our home. The installers were professional, polite and did an outstanding job.

Perfectly! The hardest thing about this transaction was making the decision as to which granite we wanted - there were so many beautiful options. Deborah was with us every step of the way and used her extensive knowledge to help guide us. My husband and I never felt pressured or unclear of the project details. If there was a higher grade than A+ then I'd certainly apply it to James River Granite & Marble. If you want an honest, professional and friendly granite company you need look no further!

They promptly came out to measure and were super to work with. However, at the last minute we had a change of plans and didn't need the granite installed (were going to install in order to speed the sale of our home but sold without it). We would definitely reach out to them again with any future need because the short experience we had with them was so pleasant.

Very Professional, the Service and Work was Excellent!

Project was handled as expected. Measurements were made off framed structure, drawn and laid out on sub flooring for spacing approval, custom pieces were designed for my needs. Granite and sinks were installed, hardware installed and all trim added. Project took longer than I expected, but all issues were resolved to my satisfaction. Staff and installers were trustworthy and skilled.

Deborah, one of the owners was involved with every aspect of the job and ensured the quality was to her standards and that we were fully satisfied. She was one of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of working with and we love the look of our new kitchen.

This i the third project JRG has performed for me and I am very happy with the results. The entire process and transactions have all been smooth and working with Ron Graham the owner is a pleasure. JRG is a family owned business and I appreciate supporting someone who is local and gives results without hassle. JRG does not have a showroom which means buyers have to visit ARC or one of the other stone warehouses in town. I prefer this as the selection is huge at the warehouses and you can see the exact stone you will have fabricated and installed for your project. As for fabrication, Ron and his team do a great job laying out the cuts and deliver on the results. Installation is straight forward and any challenges are evaluated, discussed and then a solution is found. I believe in a collaborative relationship with my contractors and JRG is always open to discussions as they listen to what we need and what we expect from the final result. JRG has always met our expectations! Another note about their service. They have come out to the house to fix problems with the granite that other contractors have caused (one unbolted the sinks, broke the caulk seals and created a mess). Great service once again. Here is a note to all granite and stone users. REMEMBER TO CLEAN AND SEAL YOUR STONE. Not all granites are created equally and some are more porous than others. If you clean and seal the stone, you will never have to worry about staining, discoloring or other appearance problems. JRG has taught me the process to follow in order to keep the stone looking great. That is the kind of service they provide.

It went well. There were a few glitches that the installer took in stride and managed. In addition the installers were a fine group of competent young men.

James River was very good to work with, from meeting to pick out our granite to scheduling the multiple appointments. One small communication lapse with the plumbing subcontractor, but overall we were very pleased with the full experience and end product so far.

The provider was able to push our installation ahead of schedule and installed the new counter top early. The installers were very efficient, courteous and professional during the installation. The new kitchen counter top looks great. This has improved the appearance of our kitchen 1000%. I would recommend James River Granite & Marble to anyone looking to install a new Granite or marble counter top. They were very easy to work with and the price was very reasonable trust me I compared prices from other vendors.

We went up to their warehouse to look at the many types of granite selections. There were so many to choose from it was hard to select just one. Deborah was patient and helpful in finding the right one for us and also showed us a new type of sink besides stainless steel or porcelain. Once we selected the granite, a couple weeks later we selected a backsplash to coordinate with the granite. It only took a total of three days for the old countertops to be replaced with the new ones. The first day was demo, second day was installation, and the third was the backsplash. It turned out beautifully.

I went to 3 different companies for quotes and James River won my business on professionalism, care in which they seemed to feel for my project- and budget. They really did a great job from initial quote, helping me select the granite slab based on my design goals, letting me be a part of how my slab was cut (this way I could retain my favorite characteristics of the granite I picked) all the way through installation. The installers were prompt and professional and the finished product is better than I could have hoped for. Best of all, it was done under budget! I would use them again for anything. I reached out to Deborah for an estimate and she was at my home the next day. That evening with my estimate in hand, I verbally committed to use her services. She met my wife at the granite supplier the following day to pick out our stone and a week later we have a beautiful new granite countertop and under mount sink. Deborah answered all of my questions in a very timely manner. This is a family-run business done the right way. I would highly recommend, their estimate blew the competition away and their service and responsiveness was even better. I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

We worked with Deborah at James River Granite and Marble. She was incredibly professional, friendly, warm, and responsive. She was available every step of the process, from estimate to selection of the granite and tile to follow up after the installation. She was completely transparent about pricing and quality of materials, helping us to feel very confident in our choice of granite and tile. The company was very busy, so we had to wait a short time between selection of materials and installation, but they were very communicative about scheduling delays. There were a couple snafus during installation. After twelve hours (before plumbing was installed) the sink, which was under-mounted, started to pull away from the underside of the counter. The installation crew came back first thing the next morning to reinforce the sink, which fixed that problem. Unfortunately, they accidentally screwed through the side of the cabinet when reinforcing the sink. Again, they fixed this issue right away and were very apologetic. Overall, we were very happy, especially with the exceptional customer service.

Overall a very good experience. Removed old countertop etc. and installed new countertop and sink one day. Plumber came the following day to hook up the faucet and garbage disposal. Old sink was a double basin sink and chose a single basin sink for the new install. I didn't realize how large the 24 inch sink would be and would have chosen a smaller (perhaps 20 inch?) sink if were to do all over again. Modifications to the cabinet needed to be made to fit the sink in, and installer did not take the time to finish the modifications cleanly - i.e. the wood wall of the cabinet underneath was cut to fit the under mounted sink, and what remained was splintered and not finished. Although most will not see the inside of the cabinet, was still disappointed the attention to detail was not apparent. I ended up sanding and finishing the area the best I could. The disposal installed does not have the allen wrench for when the blades stick but rather a "reset" button. I haven't had to use it yet so am unable to report if the "reset" button is as effective as the allen wrench solution.

The job was completed on time and to our satisfaction. These guys are very customer oriented. They made sure that we were completely satisfied with the end result. I would strongly recommend this family owned and operated company.

We dealt with Carol at the company and she was absolutely horrible! She would promise bids and then you would not hear from her for several days after the promised date. I called and sent several texts and finally called the company to inquire as to if she was still employed there. She promised to send me the contract for an agreed upon price that included a 500 discount that was offered by a coupon on Angie's list. She never finished sending us the contract as promised and yet sent me a text days later stating that the bid would be $550 more than agreed upon price. I saw right through this lame chance to refute the agreed upon coupon. They were basically punishing me for using the $500 discount by just increasing the contract price by $550. It's very unfortunate because we were excited to have this job completed soon! I did reach back out to Carol and ask her to have the business owner/ manager contact me so that I could share this feedback with them as well. Hopefully they will respond soon! Beware of Carol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deborah Graham measured the kitchen and showed us our options based on our price range. The counter installers were clean and efficient. The plumbing was completed the next day. The overall price and experience was great!
