Once the weather got cool, I attempted to cut on my heat. Unfortunately my heat did not come on. I called a few companies who said they would get me on their schedule in a couple of weeks. Hertless Heating and air said they had a technician in the area in the morning and he could come by to check it out. Robert arrived in a fully equipped work vehicle and was professionally dressed. He was quick to assess the problem and explained to me what the problem was and the cost it would be. He had the parts available on the work vehicle and was able to quickly fix the system. He also performed a complete diagnostic on the system to ensure that it was performing up to standard. He even changed my filter for me to ensure a winter of trouble free operation. Robert and his crew were very friendly and extremely helpful in getting my system back up and running. I would highly suggest this family run business for all of your heating and air conditioning needs.

Provider checked the A.C unit and decided a replacement is needed. He contacted AHS and requested a replacement. He delivered the new unit, installed it and haulded the old unit away. He did no insist on replacing the old pad, shich as our responsibility, since it was in reasonable shape and gave us the option to do that. The new unit is working fine.

Description of Work: The latest experience with this company was today, 8-3-11. I called in the order on Monday and was told the service would be performed on Wednesday. As promised the service was performed on Wednesday(today). There was no charge for the clean out of the condensate line, that was plugged and causing pooling of water in the basement. We were pleased with the company's response. Originally the work was to do routine prepaid contracted seasonal maintenance, to get the HV/AC systems ready for the Winter. The tech arrived to do the work. The heavy duty long term filters were removed but not returned. He didn't carry them on the truck so he installed temporary cheap filters and said he'd be back with the good ones, soon. The system's UV light was found to be burned out and needed to be replaced. This work was not done at the time because the techs don't carry them on the truck either. We waited patiently, for a couple of weeks, for a return and then followed up with 2 phone calls and an email. A phone message was left and never returned. Next, a phone message was taken by a receptionist, who promised to get right back with an answer, but never did. An email was sent and never replied to, because the boss said he doesn't read email. We then proceeded to go through Nov-Dec-Jan without any response from the company. After complaining to Angie's list, the company finally responded. The owner of the company came to do the work himself and apologized for the confusion. The heavy duty filters were replaced at no cost to us; and the UV lights were also replaced for a cost. I told him that while we were previous customers, we were not thrilled with the company's response and the lack of follow up. I got the impression from his apology that good help is hard to come by and that he was a bit over his head at the time.

The project went very well. It took no time at all - they were done within the day. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They were very flexible with financing. The drop in the bill after the system was installed was exciting. We found them to be excellent. They were very polite, responsive and professional. We would rate them highly. We are going to continue using them in the future - we have signed a contract with them for the maintenance of the system.
Description of Work: We used Hertless Air Conditioning & Heating Service to put in a new air conditioning system for us, which also involved a heat pump.

Still dealing with them ... but not sure I will renew my maintence plan with them...for the upcoming year..
Description of Work: Have a maintence aggreement with them - they are suppose to come out and check on my hvac/boiler systems for maintence fall, winter, spring, summer- have have them for 2 years-renewing the agreement have seen them only 3 times ...is this normal for this kind fo service or not? don't know.. ? Seems they never do anything once here..not even clean the filter. They also installed a new hvac system in my home thru AHS- having issues with the system ever since..

Poorly, my problem has not been fixed two years later after multiple visits
Description of Work: This company was sent to me by American Home Shield. Over the course of two years they replace 2 compressors, a valve, and coils all at separate times on the same unit. Now my compressor went bad again. Each time I had to pay a freon recapture fee. I would not deal with this company again!

We can not control fees that the Home Warranty company does not cover. These items sometimes cost thousands to replace. Once the 1 yr warranty from the manufacturer expires there is really nothing we can do about the costs. We are very sorry you are unhappy with the services you recieved. But I believe you are more unhappy with the company making the parts for your unit and your warranty company.

I really like this company. They do a wonderful job. I only ever had a problem with 1 tech and after I called Service Pros I have not had any more problems.
Description of Work: I had them service my air conditioner. I have a plan where the techs come out twice a year and clean and check my air conditioner, air handler and my Hydro Heat units.

Horrible customer service. The lead tech was incredibly condescending and acted as though I should have as good an understanding of these systems as he did. If I had his expertise, why would I have called them? I found him offensive, and I do not put up with that in my home. I was insulted to the point that I asked him and his partner to leave without performing any work. The work was later done by a different plumbing company.
Description of Work: I placed a call with my home warranty service regarding my hot water furnace leaking. They assigned the task to this company.

Company responded quickly and was prompt. The service rep tightened a fitting on the air handling unit, claiming this fixed the problem. He re-charged the system and left. The 'fixed' fitting started leaking fluid immediately. The company had to order a the fitting special. They replaced the fitting, re-charged the unit. I was billed for this second call as well. I did not think this was fair, since the second call was a result of them breaking the fitting. I complained to the owner in writing. The owner credited me for one of the re-charges of the unit. This was significantly less than I asked for and the owner took no responsibility for being the cause of the second call.
Description of Work: Central Air was not keeping the house cool.
