We called the number given on Angie's List and left a message and within 5 minutes, the technician Tim was calling us back!! He was at sour house within 30 minutes. He was extremely knowledgeable and new exactly what needed to get done. Tim has a great work ethic and was very personable. Great job Tim!

The job was completed in a timely and professional manner.

While the two installers who put in my system were polite and knowledgeable, one of them was clearly a corner-cutter. He failed to wrap and/or insulate the connections between the supply plenum and air handler prior to over-wrapping the entire unit. The system was still leaking a significant amount of air following the install. I was forced to get the senior technician involved in order to have the sheathing cut open and connections re-wrapped. The installers were then positive they had done everything correctly, but when I examined the system the next day, it was still leaking air and dripping water in large amounts. The installers had slathered the outside of the sheathing with mastic, and it had begun to melt and run, dropping globs of it onto the crawlspace floor. They had also inadvertently pulled one of my ducts loose, and it had fallen into the crawlspace. The installers left me incomplete paperwork (no serial numbers or test specific info as required) and were unapologetic for the inconvenience they had caused me. They also failed to test the heating capability of the system as well as the A/C, so I am planning to have an objective third party do that independently. To the company's credit, they were very responsive to my concerns, and senior tech Matt T. came out immediately once I voiced my dissatisfaction. He personally re-wrapped the unit and re-secured the duct. I am in the process of having the work re-evaluated by other companies, but at this time it appears he did a thorough job of fixing the problem. Matt was also very polite and answered all of my questions professionally and quickly. I chose this company because Matt (who also sold me the system) is an actual experienced tech rather than a salesman, and he instilled confidence in me from the beginning that the company would make any potential problems right. While I feel this will probably turn out OK in the long run, there is really no excuse for employing technicians who do a less-than-thorough job to begin with. It was disappointing because the installers made a good impression on me initially, and I was very surprised at the lackadaisical manner in which they approached the job. Trying to save half an hour of work caused us all to be on site for an extra 2-3 hours while they attempted to fix the problem. And it made me feel that they didn't care about their workmanship or about providing me with a system I could count on. Would they have done the same if they were installing a unit for their mothers or their sisters? Ultimately, the most important thing for me when I enter into a contract with a company is their commitment to standing behind their work. Mistakes happen, and there are weak links in every company chain. I understand that management cannot police all their staff all the time. Foster has (so far) done their best to remedy the problem, for which I am appreciative. I would probably hire them again, but not for a large job such as this. And while I felt it necessary to provide this review in the interest of transparency and protecting future Foster customers, I have tried to be fair in crediting the company for what it has done right in ensuring the eventual satisfactory outcome of this unfortunate situation.

I called the company and they stated the cost was high because they used an auger. Hard to believe.

We use them all the time and we love them. They come when they said. They come out, they diagnose the problem, and they fix it. They've been really, really good; they're very professional and skilled. They're our go-to plumbing company; we have a lot of leaks in this house.

Extremely well, in all respects. Every effort was made to insure that I was not purchasing too much of too little in the way of equipment or service. Explanations as to problems and solutions were clear, and when necessary well researched.

My son took the morning off from work for plumbing work that was scheduled weeks in advance in November. He received a call the morning of the appointment and was told the assigned plumber called in sick and they could not promise when they could come out that day. I feel they should have delayed jobs accordingly to the time as scheduled rather than leave me out on the lurch at the last moment. This certainly showed disregard or understanding for the value of my time.

They did a great job fixing my issue.

The replacement was a one man job. The technician was very efficient and completed the job in less than 3 hours. The quote was $1,250 and I received a discount for being an Angie's List member. making the cost $1,187.50. With that said, I think the labor was expensive given the time it took to install the unit. I'm very happy with the company and would use them again, but I'd probably do more research on pricing as I felt like the price was high.

Great! They are professional and I appreciate the way that they charge for services. It's per job and not per hour which takes some stress away. You never know how long it's going to take to diagnose a problem!

Very well -- quickly, efficiently, and professionally

Drain was cleared. I thought the price was a little high for the time it took to do the job. He was here maybe 10 minutes. The bill was $167. Later after he left, we found a horrible mess in the tub. I'm assuming it was some kind if backup from when the unclogged the bathroom sink.

Everything ended up well. Matt was my contact person and he was responsive and knowledgable. The technicians showed up as scheduled and performed the work as expected. There was a bit of a problem with the installation which made the AC shut off after its first hour of run time, but that was solved within a few hours after I reported the problem over the phone. Now, 6 months later, all is running reliably and I am happy with the service.

I've used them several times and I'm pleased with their performance. They send good mechanics. They identified a problem that I was unaware of and got it fixed. That led to some other work that happened in the summer, but I used another contractor. I'm very pleased, very pleased with Angie's List. I continue to use them and work with them. I've had always good experience. It was just a tuneup, they just come and look at your heat pump and look at your indoor unit and replace the things that need to be replaced. Nothing needed to be replaced, but he did identify a leak in my heat pump that was going to be needed for air conditioning and he gave me an estimate of what it would cost to fix. But as things worked out it was a more serious problem later in the summer than I thought. We also have a home insurance policy that we used. We called them because it required replacement of some equipment and thousands of dollars of cost, which was covered with insurance. So I had to go with American Home Shield and a different mechanic. He was a young kid and he knew air conditioning and he knew all that was involved in testing the system.

Nothing wrong with the toilet, but I would not let these folks back in my house. The install process jiggled and worsened a cracked pipe in the wall. That really probably was not their fault. But the guy who came back to check the leak was too determined to prove that it was not related to the toilet job. Also he failed to put down a tarp or anything and when he found the drip the leaky part broke open and made an enormous mess downstairs. Provided poor advice about water in the ceilings. (Luckily the insurance folks steered me right.) A horrible experience.

Everything went fine, although, I think the job was a bit pricey.

We called this company in the summer based on the reviews when our heat pump was not cooling. They came the same day although it was after 5pm when they arrived. We were just happy to find someone who was available the same day and the tech was so nice we decided to sign a service contract with them for our three units. I'm confused why so many people rated punctuality as A. When we scheduled our fall tuneup they would not give us a time window unless we requested first call which is 7:30 am, which we did not want. We asked for second call which scheduler said would be about 9am. The tech finally showed up at 5:30pm which was inconvenient plus a wasted day. The tech was very polite and efficient and apologized profusely for the late arrival and said our order was not marked second call. Apparently they never refuse a call and the tech has to answer calls all day including repairs instead of dedicated service only techs. Even the cable company gives a window of 4 hours am or pm. Next time we'all ask for first call.
