They were great. They did the whole inspection and everything went well; no complaints.

I purchased a "deal" for a water heater drain/flush and whole house plumbing inspection from Angie's List. Was very pleased with the professionalism and courteousness of the plumber. He was punctual and gave an understandable explanation of everything what he found after completing the inspection. Would definitely call if there is a future need.

They did an excellent job! The young man came here and got right to work and he did wonderful work.

I was a little shocked at their price to install the faucet which I provided (nearly $200), but the work they did to clear the drain blockage was commendable. They replaced a section of pipe and then spent quite a while flushing other parts of the line, looking for other blockages when the results were not as complete as they'd hoped. Even though they spent extra time, they stuck with their original cost estimate and did not upcharge for doing a thorough job. Technicians were polite, knowledgeable and helpful. One note: I don't think it's accurate that their listing says "free estimates" because I was told there was a $125 fee just to have them come to my house and look. That's not a free estimate.

Checked existing plumbing and found a lead in water line. Gave estimate to repair and estmate to correct other defects such as the size of existing drain lines.

They fit me in as the last call on a Friday afternoon. A very mannerable and professional young man by the name of Paul arrived around 4:00 and stayed until the job was complete. Roughly 8:00 p.m. It was not an easy task, he replaced the entire drain pipe, etc. I have a 1920's four square so it was not easy for him to access the area. I asked him to return to check the rest of the plumbing and he did. I am extremely pleased with the service and impressed with the young man working for them.

The service to me provided by Foster Plumbing & Heating, Inc. went fine. They're good, they did their job and they did not charge me more than I paid for the Big Deal. I was happy with their work.

This was an involved fix in that the plumber had to cut through the wall behind the shower to replace water pipe and shower controls. He worked on it for about 5 hours and installed a panel in the wall for easier access to the fixture. I've been watching for any residual leaks and everything is now working fine. We've been using Fosters for our plumbing and HVAC repairs for over 20 years and have been very pleased with their service.

I have a three-story townhome, and the third-floor air conditioner stopped blowing cool air. It was 3:55 p.m. here central VA and very hot and humid outside -- the inside temperature gauge stated 79-degrees, when I usually have it programmed for 76-degrees. Having seen a "Foster" truck here in the townhome community as well as having Foster do under-warranty home repairs, I called Foster. The lady who answered the phone was curt and somewhat dismissive and said it's getting close to 5 p.m., so my service call would be considered "after hours." She also told me it would be $135 for the service man to come out and review what needs to be done, regardless if I went with them or not for service. Since I am a big fat baby when it comes to heat, I wanted this done right away. Also, I thought (erroneously, of course) that the $135 charge would be absorbed with the repair cost, if any. When the service man arrived at 5:15 p.m. and went into the attic to find out what's going on, he said I needed a new thermostat gauge. Great, I thought. Just fix it. That doesn't sound like such a big thing or too expensive. When he came back inside from his truck, he said he didn't have a regular thermostat, that he only had the programmable thermostats in his truck, that if I wanted a regular thermostat, I would have to make another appointment for him to come back out, and that he didn't know if it could be the very next day. I was somewhat forced to move forward with what he had at that very moment in order for my air conditioner to work right away. After 15 minutes of work, he wrote me a bill for $443, I went online to see how much a programmable unit costs -- $120 at The Home Depot. The next day I spoke with Foster's accounting department (again, a very curt and rude woman). I asked her for a detailed, itemized invoice. She would not comply and simply told me "They (Foster's) don't do invoicing that way." Then the next day I called Foster and asked to speak with the owner. He, too, said that they do not itemize their invoices, that they have a blanket-type of billing for certain categories. I was angry and let him know this, too. "Your service man was out here for a full 30 minutes to exchange a regular thermostat, which I was forced to purchase a more expensive one because your service man didn't have a regular one on hand AND you charged me $135-after-hours fee, all for a total of $443. So basically what you and your company have done is bend me over and give it to me in the a**, and you're just fine with that?!? And you can clearly tell I am very upset and bent-out-of-shape, and yet you don't even offer a discount?!? Fortunately, I can afford $443, so keep my money, a******," and hung up the phone. A few days later I received my "Angie's List" catalogue in the mail (I was a brand-new member around that time back in April and totally forgot that I was a member of Angie's List). Foster Plumbing and Heating had a large ad in that catalogue, offering ten-percent off if you mention you're an Angie's List member. Since Mr. Foster didn't even offer any type of discount for an angry customer OR was compassionate in ANY regard, I didn't bother calling him back for my ten-percent off; he apparently needs it more than I do. I take full responsibility for NOT getting other quotes and for being in such a hurry to get my air conditioning fixed. But to have a customer being taken advantage because of such is unacceptable. I let the builder of the townhome community know of this incident, and Foster basically flat-out lied to the builder on EXACTLY what had happened.

He diagnosed the problem and explained it all to me. I appreciate that.

Fosters is great. I used them as my HVAC company at my former home, so when I saw the big deal for a hot water heater maintenance and check at my newly purchased home, I went ahead and got it. The man who came out to perform the flush and maintenance was very nice and did a whole house inspection - even fixed an issue under my kitchen sink and didn't charge me any extra. I have used them for years and they're always great to work with.

I just needed my hot water heater drained and the pressure valve checked. They were prompt, professional and courteous.

The Foster technician, Paul, responded to my call the same day I called. I selected Foster because of the positive reviews listed on Angie's list. Now I understand why customers had so many positive comments. The Foster's telephone receptionist, Gail, was very helpful and nice in working within my busy schedule to find a time that Foster could quickly have a plumber come to my house. Paul was prompt in arriving when promised. He quickly went to work in locating the cause of a leak in my garage ceiling that he soon diagnosed to be coming from 2 damaged gasket washers in the bathtub located in a bathroom above the garage. Paul repaired the leak. Because of an Angie's List coupon, I also had Paul drain, flush and inspect my water heater. He also did a whole-house plumbing inspection for me. The price of all that was done was very reasonable, the work was done very well,and I will use and recommend Foster for future plumbing and HVAC work.

The service was very excellent. They did a great job. I just spent for the cost of the coupon. Foster has done some work on other plumbing activities that we have going on and they have been full of integrity. They do a great job in desiring to serve the customers. Initially when they give a quote, their price sounds average or high but when it comes down to the discounts that they have on their price, it is good.

Paul came out and he drained the hot water heater and refilled it. He went up in the attic and found a place where a casket had broken and went under the house and said everything looked good. Paul was a very nice young man. It turned out great! I was very pleased and it was a great price!

The crew came on time and carried out their work in a professional manner. I was impressed with their inspection of the household plumbing (part of the $55.00 package) as well. A week later, one person returned to connect the tray under our washer to the laundry room floor drain and to check out problems with hot water pressure in the master bath. He was able to solve the problem (a clogged supply line) and install the drain on schedule and within budget. I was impressed not just with the work but also with the plumber's knowledge and advice. I would definitely use them again.

They came very quickly and fixed the problem.

It went very well. The plumber arrived on time and did a great job. He was thorough in explaining things to me as we went through the process, happy to help with the additional project I had, and extremely professional. After he left, I noticed one sink had water pressure issues and called Foster's back. They sent the technician back out and it was a quick 5 second fix that I was embarrassed I couldn't do/didn't know myself, but he was great about it and apologized that he didn't catch it before he left (a piece of sediment got caught on the spigot when the water was turned back on). There was no charge on the return trip.

Foster Plumbing and Heating has been very responsive about correcting the minor issues we have discovered with our HVAC system.

That was excellent. We actually bought our system through them after discussing options. He was definitely personable. He did a great job in explaining the new system to us. We're going to end up with their yearly contract for cleaning.

Steve & Bernie arrived on time and immediately began work. The plumbing inspection found 2 minor issues with the outside hose bibs and the guys did some minor repairs for no extra charge. Great job and Foster Plumbing will be #1 on my list to call.

The service technicians arrived promptly at 7:30 and were very professional. They started with the hot water heater flush and then inspected the outside water fixtures. A problem was identified with one of the fixtures. The team diagnosed it and provided a quote for replacement. The outdoor faucet was replaced and the technicians inspected each plumbing area for leaks and/or sings for previously water damage. I was extremely pleased with the service.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fantastic. The best thing about the deal was what the plumber, Paul, did while he was waiting for the water heater to drain. They had said as part of the Big Deal he would do an overall check of the plumbing while it was draining so he went through the house. He went through the house since I had various things that were not working to my satisfaction. He went to each one of them and either fixed them or showed me how to fix them. He also explained everything and was absolutely wonderful. He came out two or three days after I bought the deal.

Excellent service. While the water heater was draining the technician checked the vents in my attic and in my crawl space. He also checked the plumbing in all my bathrooms and the kitchen. He found a leaky toilet in my master bath that had been fixed (?) the previous day by another company. As soon as this technician left I called the other company to come back and fix that leak. The Foster Plumbing technician kept me informed of each thing he was doing as he went from place to place to inspect the plumbing. He even replaced some insulation that was loose in my crawl space and was nice enough to replace a light bulb that I could not reach in my master bath (not part of the service of flushing the water heater). I was extremely pleased with the service and the technician (Paul) and would not hesitate to use this company in the future.
