Later that afternoon I noticed that the leak had returned as I was rushing to leave the house. I contacted Foster and they notified Paul. He came back, driving 30 minutes during the evening rush hour and arrived at 6:10 p.m. where he discovered a hairline crack in the toilet tank as the culprit. He apologized that the problem wasn't found during the initial visit. I was so impressed that he went above and beyond the call of duty - after hours - having never eaten lunch that day! I agreed that I needed a new toilet. He discussed with me the toilet model and payment options. I was blown away that all the money I'd spent on Monday would be included in the toilet replacement! So, I only owed $110 for the second visit! I am so pleased with the Foster company that I've been telling all my friends and they will be the only plumber I contact in the future!

Paul and Jacob were very professional in their communication and work. They took special care in making sure they did not cause more damage - especially when Paul had to cut the first floor drywall in the ceiling to drain the pooled water. They answered all of our questions in a way we could understand. Their clean up was meticulous. The fee for the work was very reasonable. They provided the information for a trusted drywall repairer. I would also like to commend Gail, who took my call. She was very understanding; explained their method of charges in detail; and was able to schedule the guys to come out within a couple of hours of my call. All this on the Monday after Thanksgiving! I will definitely contact them for my plumbing needs in the future!

I contacted them to Angie's list for a toilet leak problem. They did send me a message back asking for my phone number. A few hours later, I responded with my phone number. I never heard back from them. I got another plumber to do the job.

Took advantage of an Angie's List Coupon offer providing $100 worth of service for $39.00.. The total cost of my work was $156.00 My actual cost was $39.00 for the coupon offer and $56.00 on the day of service for a net cost of $95.00. Foster P&H Customer Service contacted me immediately after I purchased the coupon offer. They worked with my request for a specific date and a time slot from 1PM on. On the day the service was performed, Customer Service called at 12:30 PM to advise that plumber would be at my home at approximately 1 PM. Two plumbers arrived at 1, went to work and completed all requested repairs in approximately one hour. Both gentleman were polite, answered all questions and quickly handled the jobs to be done. Overall a very positive experience.

I called them when we woke up without water one morning. They called me back as soon as they opened and a technician came by around 2pm. By that time the water came back but was still not running properly. The technician was very friendly and professional. He did not know the filtration system we had (neither do we as it was in place when we moved in) so he could not do much to correct the problem except to advise to change the filter and contact a company that dealt with wells. They did charge me the standard fee to come out with the 5% AL discount. When I expressed disappointment that I paid the fee but the technician did not have knowledge of the system to correct the problem, they immediately responded they would return my check to me which they promptly did along with a starbucks gift card to have a coffee on them! Now, that is what I call customer service which is RARE these days! Kudos to them!

I had bought a 39 dollar Big Deal to have a plumber check out the pipes under my house. I had noticed a wet spot in the crawl space near the kitchen sink drain. I easily made an appointment with them within 1 day of my call to them. Two plumbers arrived on time at the house. I showed them the general area. They crawled under the house, found the leak, took a picture of it with their iPhone and showed it to me within 15 minutes. They explained the situation to me and gave me a quote to do the repairs. I asked them to go ahead and do the repair and they completed the job within about 1 or or so.

The company was very prompt in contacting me when I purchased an Angie's Deal. The plumber was prompt, pleasant and efficient in making the repair. The deal cost $39 and included a $100 credit. The repair was an additional $47.

Everyone at Foster's was incredibly nice and they were very helpful. I choose them because of the excellent reviews on Angle's List and they met and exceeded my expectations. The office staff scheduled our original estimate to work with my and my husband's schedule and when the tank broke earlier than our appointment, they quickly rescheduled the appointment to come quickly to replace the water heater. The gentlemen who came were very professional and looked at the old water heater telling my husband they would be back as quickly as they could. They returned about an hour and half later with a new hot water heater and installed it quickly. I will call them again for any of my plumbing needs as they have made a customer for life with their excellent and quick service.

Foster's was very responsive to my request and they scheduled an appointment within a few days. The technicians arrived on time and were very pleasant and professional. The old, dead garbage disposal was completely rusted and they had to spend a lot of time and energy to remove it. They worked diligently until the problem was solved--with the help of a sawzall. Overall, I was very satisfied with the work done and would certainly call Foster's again.

From placing the call to Foster Plumbing and Heating, to schedule the appointment (which was a very positive experience), down to having the plumbing work done, I could not be a more satisfied customer! The plumbers were extremely polite, and were very honest about what was needed to fix the problem. They also didn't try to sell me on work that wasn't necessary (which I've experienced with other plumbers). The plumbers were able to give me an estimate before the work, explained the changes after the work was done, and treated my home with care while the repairs were made.

I needed them to come out and turn my pilot light back on, and they said it would cost $169 to do so.

Within minutes of purchasing the service (and I do mean minutes) I received both a call and email to schedule service. It was fantastic. Then, the technician showed up right at 7:30 a.m. He was polite, quickly did the repair, explained all he did and what was needed, and why, and properly documented the repairs I needed to satisfy the home buyer's property inspection report. He was courteous, professional and did a fantastic job for an extremely reasonable price. Having been through several home sales during our career, I have had the opportunity to deal with many plumbing and HVAC service technicians. This was one of the very best experiences. I couldn't have asked for more. A sincere thank you.

Foster's Plumbing showed up on time and, after reviewing items flagged by the customer, in short, provided honest feedback indicating that no work was warranted. We plan on using this firm again.

In bid process, Contractor provided thoughtful and thorough design plan for custom-fit and upgrade of HVAC systems. Even after winning bid, Contractor identified an additional manufacturer discount and applied it to our price for service. The work was performed on-time with no inconvenience. The installation was performed in a professional manner. The technicians were courteous, anxious to respond to questions, and extremely competent. The service manager not only designed and planned the project, he supervised the installation, and returned a week after the new systems were in place to inspect the work performed and to make final adjustments. We are confident we made the right decisions concerning the choice of new equipment AND are equally confident that we engaged an excellent business partner to install the equipment and continue to service it in the years to come. Foster clearly earned our respect and gratitude as they performed every phase of this project.

Contacted provider and requested estimate to replace two faucets. Dispatcher contacted me within day to setup a conversation with one of the technicians, so I could get a grounded estimate. Plumber called me within a few minutes and gave me the estimate for the work. During the call I asked him about a problem I was having with the downstairs toilet. He spent a good 10 minutes helping me troubleshoot the problem and determine the only option left (after I had already replaced all the toilet innards and wax ring) was to replace the toilet itself. After having taken the toilet apart twice (long story) I was confident I could handle replacing it myself. I had originally planned on replacing the kitchen faucet myself, but the original installer (house built in 1991) had used putty or something between the nuts and the bottom of the sink. I couldn't loosen them at all. Not wanting to risk breaking something and costing even more in repairs, I elected to pay a professional and let them deal with it. The plumber arrived on time and called ahead when he was on his way. Extremely polite, professional, and well-spoken. Turns out he was the individual I had spoken to on the phone. He (and helper/apprentice) replaced the two faucets in about 30-40 minutes. I'm happy to report that both faucets are working great with no leaks. The 2nd faucet happened to be in the same room as the problem toilet. When I mentioned I had ordered a replacement toilet based on our phone conversation, he didn't try to badger me into having his company install it. It was quite a pleasant surprise. Better yet, he gave me his card and told me to call him if I ran into any problems, so he could walk me through it. That's how you earn repeat business and loyal customers! While I wish it had cost $50-$75 less, Fosters was not as expensive as I had feared or had experienced with other providers. Once had a plumber -- no idea the company -- fix a broken handle on the toilet and was charged $100 for about 5 minutes of work. Once had a leaking pipe under kitchen sink replaced by another company and was charged around $200 for about 15 minutes of work. Had an upstairs faucet replaced by some other company years and years ago and was charged around $200 for 20 minutes of work. In all those cases I didn't fell like I got my money's worth. Foster's was a different story entirely. I will definitely contact them again the next time I have any plumbing work to do.

I initially hired them through an Angie's List Big Deal to inspect my plumbing in the spring of 2014. There was a problem with a hot water heater at the time, and the excellent technician diagnosed it easily and repaired it quickly. A similar experience occurred when I called because of an air conditioning unit that wasn't cooling during the hottest part of the summer. This was a weekend call, and the technician got things up and running in short order. Finally, a third call was prompted water heater issues, and because Foster's warranties its labor for a full year, they had us covered. Three different technicians and three different circumstances...and we have been completely satisfied with their professionalism, courtesy, and able repair work.

I have a rental home in Richmond and now live out of state. One email to Foster's through Angie's list and I received a call from Jeff Foster to see how his company could be of service. Paul, the plumber that came out to the home, assessed the running toilet situation. He called me to discuss various options and was delightful. I will certainly use this company again. It was especially nice having such a positive experience given I live ~ 3.5 hours from this property. Their pricing was very competitive and their customer service was outstanding. THANKS!

Everything went very smoothly...John found that the toilet flange had disinergrated so he replaced it with one that would last very much longer. Aplolgized for having to break up some floor tiles, but they were located out of site under the toilet base. Once repaired, they cleaned up, and settled the bill. Would definitely use again.

Paul called a half hour before arriving as promised the day before by the office. He was able to figure out where the leak was occurring and repair the overflow mechanism. He also noted the shower issue and helped us out. We feared the worse that he'd have to cut into the ceiling below, but he thoughtfully worked through the issue and avoided it.

The service person named Ryan was very intelligent, personable and helpful. He was very thorough, methodical and paid close attention to detail as he checked the components. I was very surprised when inspecting the outdoor unit that a previous HVAC maintenance specialist had changed the motor with the fan turning in the wrong direction. The previous maintenance specialist was not from Fosters but from another company that my wife had called in while I was away from home, and hadn't remembered that we had a contract with Fosters already. So Ryan switched and rewired the motor to spin correctly and checked the components were working to spec. Ryan told me that Fosters do not replace parts that are still working safely and effectively. He also informed me that none of the Fosters personnel work on commission so they do not replace anything that doesn't need replacing. I find this honesty extremely refreshing. Fosters do not claim to be the cheapest repair people but they are knowledgeable and stay as long as needed to complete the job effectively. They even have a parts catalog that they are more than happy to share with their customers. There are no secret charges and if you are on their maintenance plan you will get a slightly better price for parts. Overall I am very satisfied with the honesty and professionalism of this company. Well done!
