It did not go well. I was very disappointed that I purchased the deal on 6/25 but was not contacted until 7/2, but they accepted my money prior to even contacting me. This was my first attempt at purchasing a deal through Angie's List as well. I will never use or recommend Foster Plumbing and it is unlikely I will be purchasing deals through Angie's List in the future.

I was very very impressed with Paul and with his professionalism. He could have easily done the job and charged me the rates that I had already agreed to. I very much appreciated him being honest with me and saving me the additional money. I would most assuredly call Foster's Plumbing and Paul for my next plumbing job!

Paul showed up to complete the repairs - Foster was very timely and came out the same day. He was completely professional, did quality work, efficiently and effective.

Friendly tech showed up and took just a few minutes to determine the problem. He spent most of his time at his truck looking up an interchangeable model number but it turned out he had a compatible capacitor sitting on his truck already. I'd feared the worst and expected to have a huge repair bill and was almost pleasantly surprised by his diagnosis. He was in and out in under an hour and being an engineer myself he was kind enough to explain the problem in technical detail to feed my curiosity. Unfortunately about 2 weeks later the fan motor in the same unit had to be replaced. I do not know enough about these units to know if the two problems could be related but I thought I'd mention it. Could very well be awful luck on my part but the same company performed the work with an equal level service.

It did not go well. I bought the big deal for $40 and I paid $100 more than the deal. He was busy and came after one and a half week. He charged me $100 as a service charge. We are not happy with the service. The guy who came out to do the work was good. After doing the work the problem in the toilet of the leaking tap and the commode is not fixed. I had to call him two or three times before they could schedule the work.

I was looking for more but they just came and did what they said so I would have to rate them for what they did. They did a great job as far as coming and doing what is on the paper. It cost nothing more. I wanted more from them but the service they provided was all within their rights, I understood it. It was very helpful telling me that there is more that they can do. They were prompt.

Our serviceman was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and informative. He answered all of my questions; I definitely learned a lot from him about HVAC in general. Our unit had been acting up since we moved in, and once it struggled to keep even 80 degrees at night I figured we should give someone a call. They couldn't make it out until the next day, but we are more than happy with what he did. Turns out it was just low on refrigerant; he refilled the refrigerant and got us rolling again. 220 might be a little steep (hence the B; this is also my first time dealing with AC problems of my own so take that with a grain of salt), but Foster did a great job here and we were happy to pay that to get relief from the heat.

It did not very well at all. They came out to do the work and found an issue with it. They told me what the problem was. I assumed that he would go back to finish the work that I paid for. Instead he went and repaired the issue without telling me the amount it would be or clearing it with me first. I have a home warranty that I was planning on using to fix the issue. When I told him that he told me that they cannot come out and only do the work on the Big Deal. I called the owner and requested that he contact me back but never did. I then just decided to cut my losses and leave it alone.

Foster did not contact me at the date promised. I called them and they put me on hold for 5 minutes and then I hung up. I called them the next day and they set up a date for the next day would not guarantee that the guy would get to us. They told us that we might have to wait until Thursday. He did come and knew what the problem was immediately. He replaced the valve. After he finished, he told me that our toilet should last another year or two. I wish I had known that before the work as I would have had the toilet replaced. It would have cost only about the same if we had provided the toilet. So now we are looking at replacing the toilet in a year or two. The technician was tired as he told me he had just finished a rigorous 7 hour job. My thoughts are he didnt mention putting in a new toilet because he would have taken too long. On a nice note, he was a very nice man.

Very professional and he knew what he was doing. Would use them if I need them in future.

Purchased Big Deal assuming that the deal would cover a very short service call. Well, no. Although I was told I would get a phone call before the technician arrived, my doorbell rang to announce his arrival. He rotated a valve on my shower on/off lever, and was out the door 17 minutes later - about 5 of that getting the additional payment that my Big Deal didn't cover. Work was done professionally. For all you other vendors - at least have your deals cover the minimum amount of a service call, or state on the deal that it ANSOLUTELY will cost more for the tech to even show up.

Purchased the Angie's List Deal and scheduled the appointment. The dispatcher was extremely friendly and explained their rates thoroughly. The plumber came out on the scheduled day and fixed the problem in five minutes and we weren't charged any extra.

The tech came and checked out how our heater was working. Made some recommendations for us.

Prompt and courteous service. Good price with coupon. Will use this provider again.

I wish they'd have replaced it on the first go around - I think it cost me more in the long run and it seems like a pretty high price for a fill valve. That being said, both technicians were punctual and friendly. And calling the office to make an appointment I found Fosters to be responsive.

The guy was very professional.

Great. We had to wait for the lid for a couple of weeks. We replaced the toilet (biscuit), so color is not readily available. So far the toilet works great. The service people have always been skillful and knowledgeable.

In this day and age of lousy customer service (#comcastfail), it's really nice to meet someone like Dalton, our service tech and the customer service team at Foster Plumbing & Heating. We purchased the $49 cleaning coupon and got way more the we expected. Dalton was on time, very polite, extremely professional and thorough. Our 25+ year old unit has never run quieter and cooled the house this well. We chose to have Dalton also install a digital thermostat and are very pleased with the overall results of the service call. We now have a company that we will use for all our plumbing and HVAC needs. Thank you Dalton and thank you Foster Plumbing!! Money well spent!

Dalton was the tech. that arrived within the stated time, and tested the thermostat calibration. He also performed tests on the AC unit itself, and reassured me that the unit was operating without any problems. He was very polite, courteous, and informative. I would highly recommend Foster Plumbing and Heating, Inc. to everyone.

Called around 8am and was told they would come but it would be later in the day. They called to confirm we were home, found the problem, fixed the problem and was done by 12:30. Fast, courteous and affordable. Highly recommend!

All went extremely well. Foster accepted the $100 labor coupon that was sold to me for $39. However, the price for installing a customer-provided toilet was $246 less the $100 plus the $39 coupon, so net cost to install was $185 and this it a little bit over average cost in Richmond per my research, but I believe OK for most folks since Foster did not need to make a run to parts store for me and probably does this for most others. Thus, my conclusion is their pricing is fair.

They were on time professional, and courteous. They fixed a non-flushing toilet. He was very friendly and nice and job was done correctly.

I had my A/C "tuned up" last year by a well-known provider and was disappointed. For $99 the unit was never touched. After the service call, I contacted the company when I realized the unit still had mud and leaves caked on the screen. I asked how this could be if the unit was inspected and "tuned up." The response was that it was "more of a 'visual' inspection." I was mislead by that company and will not use them again. Today, the first thing the serviceman did was use the hose to clean out the screen of all debris. He then proceeded with the rest of the work. For half the price-$49-I am satisfied.

Great! Very pleasant, prompt, neat (wore booties inside, during the rain), efficient. Informed us of status and concerns of all 3 house HVAC systems and how best to maintain.
