Description of Work: My mothers yard was in need of a through cleaning. Mr. Ellis and his crew trimmed the bushes,cut back ivy, removed brush and branches, mowed and edged. They made her yard look great.

Description of Work: I called Ellis Landscaping to get an estimate for lawn mowing and trimming on a regular basis. They returned my call the next day and came out within an hour of calling. Mr. Ellis and his crew gave me a very reasonable estimate and then immediately performed the services. Some of the weed whacking in the backyard was tough-as it was a little overgrown, but they did a wonderful job.

Description of Work: Mr. Ellis and his crew weeded, trimmed, pruned, tilled and seeded the lawn, and installed a sprinkler system.

Description of Work: Cleared brush, fallen trees (some VERY large) and partially-fallen trees. Cleared out beds in front and back, planted 3 rose bushes and 3 shrubs (plants included in price), mulched 3 beds. Removed fencing. Trimmed and removed vines, scrubby growth. Weed-eated entire area (almost one acre). Removed all this debris. Provided invaluable advice on increasing curb appeal in re our upcoming plans to sell property.

The initial first-time clean up project went well. David and his crew completed the work in a timely fashion (2 days). I was expecting more plants but I'm getting used to some of the dead space in our beds. I would highly recommend developing a statement of work at the beginning of the project as well as for the maintenance agreements. David does not offer this service and it became clear that their definition of "planting", "weeding", "maintenance" etc were not the same as our definition. I haven't been pleased with the quality of the maintenance work at all. I have been home a few days when his crew has stopped by and they rarely stay long. Their weeding is mostly done with weed spray, which we could do ourselves for $50/week. Several of my rose bushes are not being dead-headed; when I've pointed this out to David, he's dead-headed them on the spot, but it's not something I should have to point out or remind him to do if it's part of our maintenance agreement. His crew has also left equipment in our yard - both front and back - for days at a time. My husband has had to pack up their equipment each night and secure it in our garage so it doesn't get stolen. We shouldn't have to clean up after them. One time they left several expensive pieces of equipment out, and it rained like a monsoon for 3 days straight. They never came back to get their equipment or check to make sure it was ok. Because it was electrical, my husband went out in the rain himself to cover everything with a tarp and make sure the equipment was protected. Again, not something we should have to do. David seems responsive to feedback, which is a positive thing, but at some point you wish they would just do the job correctly the first time. I was not pleased with the progress of some rose beds so David replaced them, but that same week I noticed that the dead-heading and weeding in other spots were missed. We don't have a huge yard, our property is 0.5 acres, so I'm not sure why it's so difficult to get consistent and high quality service. David seems to put in more work toward the end of the month when he is waiting for us to send him the check for the next month. Overall, I haven't been tremendously pleased. One last thing - one day I came home and his crew was not expecting me. A few of them were smoking cigarettes in my backyard. When they saw me, they immediately tossed their cigarettes onto my grass. David wasn't present at the time, so he did not get to see this behavior, but I felt that was very disrespectful.

Description of Work: Landscape renewal after the house had sat empty for sale for 1.5 years. Davids' crew cleaned the flower beds, pruned the trees and bushes, mulched (substantial job on a hilly lot with many existing flowers and bushes), re-seeded back of house where no grass existed.

Description of Work: Trims front hedge and cuts lawn and trims edges. It is a large yard and the price is competitive. Very responsive when I call.

Description of Work: Dave cleaned up our entire yard, removing leaves from our natural areas that had accumulated over three years; he also aerated and seeded our backyard and mulched our front yard.

Description of Work: Ellis Landscaping has mowed our half-acre lawn weekly since mid-September. They do a nice job. They are responsive to my request to mow the front and side lawn with a push mover due to the amount of water we have in these areas. I also have gotten quotes and detailed explanations from Mr. Ellis on two different approaches to reseed our back lawn as well as mulching and weeding our landscaping beds. We will likely move forward with one or both of these projects in the spring, provided that the U.S. economy doesn't get too much worse.

Description of Work: Mr. Ellis cleared all the leaves from my backyard. Since I reside in Brandermill, this is no small task, and also cleared away debris; tree limbs, etc. He applied mulch along the side of the driveway and on the beds down the side of the house as well as mulching the entire perimeter of the backyard; this ended up being about 9 cu yards of mulch. He also edged the mulch beds to give them a more finished look, which I had not requested, but was greatly appreciated.
