I called on a Saturday because my heat went out suddenly. The on-call tech called me back about 35 minutes later. He gave me some instructions to try over the phone. Unfortunately, that didn't work as I was heading out of town that afternoon. The technician advised that when I return home to call him directly he could be out as early as 8-9am. Upon my return home early the next day I reached out to the technician directly. He didn't make it to my house until after 11:30am, so much for first thing the next day. He was able to identify the issue quickly and replaced the fuse in the heating/ac unit. A little pricey for the visit. Next time I'll try and wait for a weekday appointment.

I contacted Dominion and we arranged for a date and time for service technician to arrive. Kevin, the technician, was on time and ready to go to work. He quickly identified the problem and fixed the AC. Also did a courtesy check to make sure coolant was at proper levels. Dominion did a great job and I would use them again.

Our upstairs air conditioning system was not working correctly, having suffered from numerous issues, none of which were properly fixed by other service providers. We decided to upgrade it. We were referred to Dominion Heating and Air by a friend and also a neighbor. After contacting the company to request an estimate, Justin arrived at our home on time a day later, to discuss the upgrade. He was friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. A day later we had the estimate which contained pricing for all the options we had discussed. We had a number of additional questions. Our emails and phone calls were always courteously and promptly answered. Once we made a decision, Justin scheduled the installation for the following week. The installers arrived on time, introduced themselves, were quiet and performed the installation in about 5 hours, leaving no mess. When they had finished, Justin arrived and we went over details of the new system and he answered some more questions. The price was exactly as estimated and everything has been working beautifully since. The work was completed in April, 2013. We highly recommend Dominion Heating and Air to anyone needing heating/cooling services.

We made an appointment days in advance to have a repair made on an exhaust vent pipe, something we had to have done due a recall before we could close on our house sale. The repair man didn't show. We called the office several times and two different people couldn't tell us anything about where the repair man was or why he didn't show. They said they would find out and call us back. They didn't. They didn't even have any idea where he was. After wasting the 1st half of the day waiting on Dominion, we had to cancel and start all over finding someone to do the work so our closing would not be held up. Very BAD experience!

All of my interactions with Justin and the installation team were professional and courteous. The work was performed on-time and on-budget. I was also having some foundation repair work done at the same time as the HVAC installation. The Dominion team was able to work around the complications this created and even though it did end up costing them them several hours extra waiting for the foundation work, they never complained and did not charge me any extra for the inconvenience. I would definitely use them again.

Our old central AC unit died in the late summer and we just dealt with window units until the fall. For heating, we had an aquaTherm unit that worked ok, but would deplete hot water reserves quickly. We wanted to replace both with a heat pump and received 5 quotes for this job. Justin, the co-owner, personally came to do the estimate and was great to work with. Their estimate was the best around for the system we were looking for, one that would qualify for high efficiency rebates. Justin gave us 4 options, clearly outlining which ones would qualify and the differences in each. Additionally, our 1st floor return had been disconnected so that storage space in the basement could be used, and the Dominion guys reconnected it while still allowing access to that space. It was done much better than the previous duct work. The new system works great and we submitted the paperwork to get the state rebate. I would definitely recommend them.

Received three quotes for this project. Dominion's was the best overall, least expensive and included the brand of equipment I was most interested in. Their crew was very professional and all our questions and concerns were addressed to my satisfaction. The work was completed in a day and when they departed everything was cleaned up and all the old equipment removed.

Justin provided a very detailed proposal with several options for me to consider. We sat down together and discussed the options. He was just as positive about the lowest cost option as he was the more expensive ones. He provided me with the information I needed to do my own analysis based on the features and efficiency of the systems and the availability of a tax credit for some of them. I decided to go with the second most costly system because it made the most sense for our situation. I added on a special air filter because we have an asthmatic in the family. No pressure. Friendly, helpful. What a great experience. We were without air and another customer was willing to let us have their installation slot, so they came out two days later. They were so professional and very quick. In fact, they had the system installed in half a day. Our neighbors across the street were having a similar system installed and they were just finishing taking out the old system as our guys were finishing. After the installation Justin came back and went over everything with me. It was such a pleasure doing business with this company!

Justin came to the home and did the inspection of the duct work in the crawl space that was in very poor shape. Of the six [!] quotes we received on the work, not only was Dominion’s the most reasonable, but it was also the most simple to understand. Justin called me personally to go over the work that needed to be done in addition to submitting a quote in writing. He was very pleasant and did not “talk down” to me as someone who knows very little about HVAC. When we scheduled the work with Justin he was very pleased a appreciative and he set a date that he knew that he would be able to give full attention to the job. His employees were neat, professional and polite and did the work efficiently. Justin called me afterwards to tell me the work was finished and to set a time to go over the completed job with the house manager. He also took pictures and sent them to me to keep on file.

Dominion technicians came out Monday, March 1, right on time. They determined that our compressor had gone out. They offered to replace it but pointed out that the 25 year old system was well past its life span. Plus if we replaced it this year we could qualify for a $1500 energy tax credit on our 2010 income tax. My wife and I researched heat pumps through the Internet and a brother-in-law in the heating business and decided to go with the brand we were replacing. Dominion was listed by the manufacturer as a local dealer/installer. We checked Angie's List and found they had all "A" ratings. The following Thursday Dominion took out the old and installed the new heat pump/air handler. It took them four hours from start to finish. The system performs flawlessly. If we could sum up our experience with Dominion Heating it would be excellent customer service from the owner down to the technicians doing the installation. My wife is especially impressed with them in that they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. Except for the presence of the new unit things look totally undisturbed.

I've used them for over two years. They have always been really good, prompt and came when they said they would. Their prices were what they quoted me and everything is still working. I will definitely use them again. My unit is over ten years old and I will probably have them replace the whole system when it dies.

I have to say that it went quite well. There were a couple of stumbles along the way (most being communication issues between the sells team and installers), but in the end they addressed any issue I had and corrected anything that I had questioned. After all was finished a family member (who is 30 yr hvac person) was visiting from out of town--checked things out and said that they had done a terrific job.

Went very well. At the first visit Justine inspected the old system, discussed our needs and offered three options, in writing. A competitive quotation proved the quoted prices to be in the right ballpark. Actual installation involved a team of four people who arrived on schedule at 8:30am and completed the installation by 3.30pm same day. Justin called by twice during the day, once to discuss a small problem that had surfaced and finally, to walk us through the installation and controls. The team was courteous and willing to listen to our concerns which were few. Charges for the first visit were waived. The old outside unit was switched with the even older first floor unit at no extra cost to us.

Dominion had given us a real big service package and it also included the filters that we were able to buy right from them. The type of filters we bought, we do not have to change every three months either. During this visit, I also bought a dehumidifier from them. That was also very cheap. The cleaning of the ducts went great and I have no complaints with that. There was no mess left behind and everything turned out fine.

When coming out to my home there were no problems by the company. They did a great job. The installation did not take long and the workers were friendly and attended to my requests with no problems at all. They hooked it up in the basement and outside. The thermostat was also installed for the unit.

They had to install a new heating and air conditioning unit in our home and they provide a yearly contract for the service and maintenance. We are pleased with the unit and the service was great. Everyone was very friendly and they offered reliable service. We were given an estimate for the cost of the new unit and it was very reasonable.

I appreciate the fact that Dominion Heating and Air always explains what they are doing, how any new systems work and what I can do to maintain my air conditioner. The people from Dominion Heating and Air are very professional. They also always show up on time are quick to finish the job and very clean when doing it.
