We hired Craven to do a lot of odd jobs around the house and we were happy with most of the work except for the last part of the job. For this particular part of the job, we asked them (in writing and verbally) to install two wall outlets in our bedroom. Instead of installing a standard wall outlet, they installed wiremold boxes in the boards, which stick out from the wall and are easily recognizable and ugly. Once the job was completed, we were left speechless because they were rather ugly and we would have declined the job had we known this was the only option according to this company. When we spoke to the company, they were rather defensive about the work and offered no reasonable options to fix the problem. We are now left having to hire another company to complete the job. My advice before using this company is to express everything you want explicitly in writing and even show them where you want them. They will need to be micromanaged in order to get what you want. Again most of the work was reasonable and the workers were very nice, my irritation was the lack of communication from the workers and the defensiveness of the company once we communicated to them our dislike of the outlets.

Mr. Craven had to be flexible about date and time because of other sub contractors with kitchen renovation. He was very professional and always has suggestions for how to plan the initial installation and how to avoid future problems. Added new outlets in backsplash. Added garbage disposal. Added outlet for range.

This particular job was the most involved and most expensive of many jobs Craven has done for us. As always, the electricians were punctual, professional, and did excellent work. We've been using the lighting they put in for us for nearly two years now and it has worked flawlessly. Mr. Craven always tries to find the most efficient and economical way to get the job done and we have always been satisfied.

Mr. Craven arranged to meet with us on a Saturday. We initially intended to install some outlets and potentially replace our circuit panel. Mr. Craven took his time during the initial meeting, offering suggestions and ideas for improving lighting in our dark laundry room and garage, and pointing out potential obstacles to performing the work we initially requested. The work was performed on time and at the quoted price. The workers were polite and didn't leave a mess behind. I'm looking forward to contacting Craven Electrical again in a few months to have ceiling fans installed in the upstairs bedrooms. I know they'll do an excellent job.

I was glad that he was able to come to our house that day to take care of the repair. He diagnosed that the switched had welded together and replaced it quickly. The owner was pleasant. While the job was small, the price was not outrageous.

Mr. Craven and his associates did a great job. They have a lot of experience, and are clearly very comfortable and knowledgeable about their work. In particular, they frequently offered advice as to what was advisable from both a functional standpoint (e.g., positions for light fixtures given the layout of the workspace) and a safety standpoint. I was particularly impressed with his constant attention to safety of work practice and of the installation itself. Mr. Craven conducted a thorough inspection of the house and its main service in preparation for running the service out to the garage. We discussed several options for pathways, and he worked with me to arrive at a plan that we both agreed upon. I was particularly grateful for his solution tying the motion-sensor floods to the light above the side entrance door, so that I will never approach that side door in the dark. He also provided me, at my request, a detailed written estimate of all the work he planned to do. He and his crew came well-prepared to the site and cleaned up nicely after themselves. The work took all one day and about half the next. He also scheduled the electrical inspection, which went very smoothly. I would recommend Mr. Craven and his crew without hesitation to anyone considering residential electrical work.

Smoothly. They arrived early, but I was waiting. They worked steadily and finished in less time than I had anticipated. They were courteous and professional.

We had a light/fan unit that was difficult to install, as someone had previously attempted to install it and failed. I was able to get a timely response after my first call to Craven Electrical, and the owner was out to perform the work on the following day. He took the time to correct the bad wiring before installing the light/fan. Took less than 2 hours for the entire job.
