This guy was joke. They got nothing because it could not blow any air. He ended up having to take it up to the attic and then it still did not work. It was a disaster and that was seven years ago. Two years ago a guy came and put refrigerant in the air conditioning unit and that was good, it worked out fine. I don't understand why there was a second guy because he was supposed to service the heat pump upstairs. So he went up and said it was only 5 degrees and left. He did not look at the heat pump. One time they came out to change a condenser on an air conditioner and they said if they don’t have the part they are charging for the service call.
Description of Work: I use Comfort First he came to service the unit but he did nothing. They installed a heat pump where the air conditioner had been and then tried to make it go up.

Comfort First, obviously, is not responsible for all the ills of the system installed. Manufacturer's defects may be the bulk of the issue, but the lack of attention to detail, messed-up wiring, delayed service calls, and the practice of not coming prepared to actually work on the system added to my frustration and led me to no longer trust Comfort First to provide the service for my home.
Description of Work: Comfort First installed the original HVAC systems in my home in August 2005. The downstairs HVAC system consists of a gas-fired furnace with a cooling coil and outdoor condensing unit. This has been relatively trouble-free over the past six years. The upstairs HVAC system consists of an outdoor heat pump and indoor unit with electric back-up heat. This system has been a "lemon" and has been the source of numerous service calls (minimum of two per year). In the six years, we have replaced the condenser, the capacitor, the control board, the control wiring, have recharged the unit multiple times, and have replaced the indoor coil. In December 2011, once again, I contacted Comfort First for a service call. Two days later, the technician was able to come to the house, but was unable to determine the cause other than low refrigerant and charged me $135. He stated that we needed a leak test to be performed and quoted another $45 trip charge and over $200 for the leak test. He also said that any major work would have to wait until after the Holidays. I declined the proposal and have procured another service company.

Response from Comfort First Heating & Air Conditioning
As the client stated, we cannot be held responsible for manufacturers' defects. We also cannot stock a service truck to have every part for every brand of system. As far as scheduling service calls, we must prioritize calls (meaning those with no heat should be serviced first), and this may sometimes result in a delay in scheduling. Because he had heat at the time of the service call, he may have experienced a delay due to prioritization of emergency situations and delivery time of parts obtained from suppliers. In reference to the $135 service charge, after reviewing the history of this system, Comfort First did not deposit this customer's check, so there was actually no charge to be an issue.

I found the house files from the previous owner and looked at the maintenance records to find out who they had used last time. It was this company. I then called and left a message with the company to find out how much they charged and if they could schedule an appointment that same week. I received a call back within 3 hours to schedule the appointment, and they asked a few questions regarding what work needed to be completed. We scheduled a few days after my original phone call. The next day I received a phone call from the technician and he asked if he could come a day earlier. My reply was yes, the sooner the better. They came out and did all their routine inspections, and provided some useful information to me. The technician was courtesy and helpful.
Description of Work: We needed someone to come out and inspect our heating and cooling system. Basically an annual inspection, and ask a few questions regarding diffusers and ductwork.
