+ -1 moreFantastic! Evan and his team at Colonial Floors did a fantastic job and worked with us on a really tight schedule. They were extremely communicative, and worked to get us back into our house with beautiful floors! We would work with them again in a heartbeat!!
Description of Work: Floor sand, stain, and finish (on newly installed hardwood floors, 900sqft). We had our floors installed by a separate contractor, but the finisher was unfortunately unavailable at the originally agreed upon work dates. In a panic (I was expecting and had a very tight deadline for getting back into the house), I called Colonial Floors (at 7am!), and Evan answered the phone. He was quickly able to fit us in between two larger jobs, and really saved the day (not suggesting that this is their ordinary way of working with clients, but he really worked hard to get our needs met basically immediately). He was so pleasant, and it was obvious that he takes a lot of pride in the work Colonial Floors does. The work his team did was great, and our floors looked fantastic. They even worked to address some minor issues with the install (puttying larger holes left from install nailing). We are so happy with our experience…finding Colonial Floors was basically a miracle in our household!!

+ -1 moreWe used Colonial Floors to refinish about 3,000 sq ft of hardwood floors as well as put in new hardwood to replace carpeting in our hallway. A big job! The owner, Evan, was very responsive and it was apparent upon meeting him that he really knows his stuff. His quote wasn't the cheapest one we got but we went with his company because he clearly knew more about hardwood floors than the other guys, and WOW, we made the right choice. The floors came out so gorgeous! Evan and his team helped steer us in the right direction to get the modern, natural look we wanted, which I know we never would have achieved without his guidance. Our house is transformed and I'm totally impressed. I will recommend Evan and Colonial Floors to everyone -- they are true professionals an the work is just perfection. Thanks, Evan!

Evan, the owner, was completed involved throughout the entire process and did a very good job of explaining what to expect. We were impressed with his knowledge and caring attitude and his quote was very competitive. His crew was experienced and seem to take pride in doing a good job. + 0 moreBad result - first they said they had a $1200.00 minimum. Then they said to do the job right, I would need to vacate my home (noxious fumes), remove my 3 cats, and turn the home over to them. In this covid era it is not easy to move out of your home...bad service.

+ -1 moreIt went well. Out of 3 companies, Colonial were the only company willing to refinish the originals without insisting on replacing the entire floor. They eventually matched the new boards to the old flooring with tinting and did an excellent job. We are very pleased with the results and would use Colonial again if needed.

+ -1 moreIt went wonderfully. Evan and his crew were amazing! They were prompt, professional, courteous and kind. They went above and beyond my expectations of what I expected. My floors were in very bad shape. The previous owners did extensive damage to the wood flooring. Evan’s crew were able to save the floors. They sanded them down to the bare wood and refinished them. They look good as new! The color is beautiful! I recommend them to anyone who is looking for bang for their buck :)

Since the completion of the job, we had an installer in to do some tile work for us. He also happened to do floors. He said the job Colonial Floors of VA did for us was excellent, especially the feathering/matching of new wood to the old. He said it looked great because the matching part isn't easy to do! I liked hearing from another professional that it was a job well done.

They refinished floors in three bedrooms, closets, hallway, foyer, living and dining rooms; installed new wood in small areas due to recent remodeling; and installed shoe moulding. I could not be happier with the results and reasonable cost!! Evan and his team are experts. My dining room floor had very noticeable water damage; SandFree expertly sanded and stained, resulting in entire floor well-blended and less noticeable, I'm very pleased with the outcome! Highly recommend!!!
