Absolutely wonderful start to finish. Hands down would recommend.

We are building a new home. We wanted a custom closet instead of ventilated shelving so we checked around and called several companies (including the big national outfits). The Closets of Virginia's prices were better than their competition. When I checked the reviews here and on other sites, their reviews were uniformly exceptional. So we decided to go with Closets of Virginia. It was a great decision. Working with Steven was a pleasure. He took our idea of what we wanted in the master closet and laundry room and created the design within days. He then came over to the home and measured exactly the dimensions needed. On installation day, his crew came over and started to work. My builder told me afterwards that his crew was exceptionally polite, clean and did an absolutely superb job. The builder had called me and told me that we would be really happy with the job they did. He was right. I have no doubt at all that we would again utilize them if we have need in the future.

Steven and his crew were fabulous. I was very pleased with every aspect of the work. I will be in touch with him again soon to work on another project.

Judi made a number of suggestions to accomplish the workspace and storage that we required. She took careful measurements several times and had her installer also take a look at our space to come up with the most efficient way to put the pieces together, to allow for the computer hard drive, all the cords and cables, etc. Once we agreed on all of the selections it took them just a few weeks to get everything together. The installation took a day or two and was nicely done. We didn't obtain other estimates or alternative pricing, so we really can't say if it's competitive, but they did give us their discount.

They arrived at the agreed-upon time, discussed what I needed, measured the space, and discussed alternatives with me. After reviewing the alternatives, he drew up some suggestions and I chose one within my desires and budget. The closet was manufactured to-order and a time set for installation. Again, they were reliable and prompt and completed the job in a professional and timely manner. I love the insert and how much more use I can get out of the closet too!

I was very impressed with Closets of Virginia. I met with Stephen who listened to my needs, looked at our clothes and helped me design a closet that was functional and looked great. By adjusting heights of rods and shelves, his suggestions for utilizing space were excellent. I was trying to manage price and he helped me with decisions that were budget-friendly.

Steven was very prompt in responding and upfront about what he could and could not do. Came up with a design within the limitations of our space. Unfortunately it would need some wall-removal, electrical re-work, and floor repair to be able to make it the way we wanted which they don't do. That part of the job was also too small for any contractors to take on really. Steven reworked the design to better organize the space we do have, but in the end, given that we would be paying for an non-ideal setup and other personal reasons, we decided to hold off. If we do additional renovations later and can get a contractor to include that work as well, then I will call Steven back to finish out the plan.

I had several quotes. Pam took the most time with the design of the closet system and was the most creative in figuring out our specific needs. I am extremely happy with the final results.

Owner/Designer Steven O'York came to our house for the initial meeting to measure our closet, view the existing contents, and discuss how we wanted to organize the contents in the new design. We viewed photos of completed closets to get ideas for layout and learned of the materials the company offers for new designs. What we appreciated most with Steven (and why we selected his company) was his ability to: 1) listen to how we wanted the closet to work for us; 2) complete the design in front of us, based on his experience and our vision; then, 3) rework the design so that it matched our vision as closely as possible. Steven drew a separate design plan for each wall of the closet, all the while explaining what he was doing and why. We then went back to the actual closet with plans in hand, and Steven demonstrated how everything would fit, continuing to tweak the plans as needed. We felt this last step was an important part of the process. The next step was giving us a day or two to again review the plans while standing in the closet, looking at our clothes and other items. When Steven came back to the house, we stood in the closet and review everything again, then we set the dates for "tear out" (which, in our case, involved patching dry wall where the previous shelving and rods were removed), time for us to complete the prep (sanding and painting), then the date for installation (only 1 day for our closet). After both "tear out" and installation, the closet was left clean of debris and vacuumed. All completed, Steven created a beautiful, spacious, functional walk-in closet, beyond what we initially envisioned. We chose a hanging system (i.e. not floor-based) and used a combination of double-hung rods for shirts and pants, a single-hung rod for longer items, long open shelves with adjustable heights for shoes and folded sweaters/tops, narrow cubby-like shelves other items, and a 4-drawer hanging chest. The widths of each section varied according to position within the closet. We were able to choose the color of the unit, design for the drawer fronts, and hardware for the drawers. With our new closet system, I gained so much functional space that I was able to eliminate the need for one of my dressers in the bedroom.

I got a quick response when I requested a quote for the pantry job. Steve came to my house and we discussed my options. I found him to be very helpful and this made it easier for me to decide what I wanted to do. We have an odd shaped pantry and weren't using it to maximize the space but Steve drew up a plan that would give us plenty of use. On the day of installation, the workman showed up promptly and was very polite and friendly. Also, he spoke English which is helpful when it comes to doing the job. We've had experiences in the past where a job wasn't completed well because of the disconnect between us and the work man. The workman did the work quickly but also properly.

Closets of Virginia advertised in our local magazine "Fawn Lake Life". I invited them to visit us and give us a proposal on how we could improve our MBR closet. The closet is not very large. Mr. O'York was very punctual, spent time with us looking at the closet and how we currently used it (he even measured our shoes to ensure that his proposal would accommodate our shoe sizes). He provided us a drawn proposal for all four walls in the time he promised. We made several changes to his proposal which he quickly integrated into the plan. His team came and tore out the existing shelving in the closet and came back a week later for the installation. (We did the painting of the closet before he came). His installation team was great, prompt, polite and left the job site spotless. Afterwards we wanted a couple of minor things changed and Steven came himself to ensure the closet was exactly as we wanted. Overall rating is a high "A". We've already recommended him to a friend who was equally as enthusiastic.

Steven O'York is enthusiastic and meticulous about his projects. My husband and I enjoyed working with him very much. He listened to our ideas, gave advice about our ideas & materials to use, and created a design that made our laundry room both functional and beautiful. The quality of the materials is excellent. The installers completed the work as scheduled. Steven also made a visit after the installation and had two cabinet doors replaced because he found scratches on them. We could not have been more pleased with the price, quality and level of service provided by Closets of Virginia.

Steve was thorough in his initial assessment of our needs, down to determining what we needed based on numbers of pairs of shoes and my husband's height! He did not push items we didn't need but made good recommendations based on our taste. We were thrilled with the quality of work and the end result. It was well worth the money!

Pam was very instramental in the design and offered many good recommendations. Scott was professional in the tear out and installation of the new closet system. There were, as with any project, some issues to be resolved but Pam is ture to her word and is handling them. Professional with great customer service.

I absolutely love my bedroom closets. I cannot believe how organized I have become! Steven came out and showed me lots of choices and helped me to select the options best suited for what I wanted to put in each closeet. He returned a few days later with detailed drawings. The installation went smoothly - everything was exactly as designed - and the finished product was above my expectations. I wasn't sure what could be done with the other 2 bedroom closets since they were long and skinny, but Steven's design added so much usable space. I was so happy I called them back in December to customize a walk-in pantry and 2 additional downstairs closets (one walk-in). Steven designed the closets based on my needs. I keep all my shoes in one of the closets in shoe cubbies that I wanted to keep and Steven suggested a design to work with the shoe cubbies that could be tweaked for future uses. Again, the installation was professional and fast. There is so much more space now. I definitely would recommend the company and will use them again.

They are just fabulous and the work they did was beautiful. It gave us such a piece of mind because it solved such big issues for us in the move and in downsizing that we had no idea how to resolve until we talked to them. The pricing was much less than what we had anticipated. They use products by another company. The man that comes in and measures is very careful with his measurements. He is very creative. He looked at the inside of closet and was able to immediately envision what would work for us and created the pattern. A different man then came in and installed it, and they worked really well together. We were extremely pleased with the company. The closet gives us a much more professional look.
