Classic Construction Exteriors

We contacted Classic Construction Exteriors in April 2013 for an estimate on a completely maintenance-free screened porch addition with additional small attached deck. We've never been through the process of designing an addition to a house, so we were extremely impressed and appreciative of contractor/carpenter Brent Pittman's ability to take our ideas and wants and design the perfect porch and deck that exceeded our expectations and vision. Brent easily figured out that my husband's desire for maintenance-free materials applied across-the-board to all aspects of the project. Once we gave Brent our specific criteria, we let him design the porch and select the colors according to his years of experience and his own high-expectations for himself. From May through the August start, I heard from Brent on a regular basis, providing me up-dates about the start date and the design process. I received the architect's drawings and computer renderings of the completed project to review and revise. I thankfully didn't have much to do, as Brent was totally on top of all aspects of the the process. Construction began on August 5, 2013 and was completed by mid-September. Classic Construction arranged for a construction dumpster and a port-a-potty to be on sight during the project. Care was taken to protect our driveway and landscaping during the entire project. Clean-up occurred on a daily basis before Brent and his co-workers, Brian and Jonathan, left for the evening. If weather delayed arrival, I received a phone call letting me know. Communication during the project was among the best I have ever experienced from a service provider. Here are the particulars about the design: Brick pillars matching the existing house foundation provide the supports for the screened porch and deck, with white vinyl lattice between the pillars. The decking material for the screened porch and seamlessly extending to the deck is CertainTeed PVC decking in Dune with contrast color Saddle for the perimeter. All foundation boards, risers, roof and skylight framing, and support columns are covered in white PVC materials. The ceiling is white vinyl bead board. There are also white vinyl rails surrounding the porch, deck, and deck stairs, as well as a white vinyl screen door from the porch to the deck. The shed roof with 2 skylights is shingled to match the house roof and Leaf Guard gutters and downspouts were installed along the front roof line of the porch. We purchased the "wet-proof" outdoor ceiling fan with light ahead of time from Atlantic Electric, and it was installed along with 2 spotlights and 2 electrical outlets (one inside the porch and one outside the decking) by Classic Construction as part of the project. Brent was able to contact the original company which handled the installation of the house siding and trim 3 years ago for the previous owners and obtained the exact materials to use for the siding and trim under the roof line. Our wood crawl space door was also replaced with extra material from the skylight trim vinyl (something Brent did on his own to complete the look - I never thought of that). As a result and with the impeccable work completed by Classic Construction Exteriors, the new screened porch and deck addition look as though they were always meant to be a part of the house.

Very professional and helpful throughout design and build. Brian advised and guided us through the design process, revising the project and drawings several times to design the best deck for our house at a reasonable price, and he responded promptly to all our questions throughout the build. Used first class materials throughout, and the crew was very professional, friendly, and responsive to our needs. They were, admittedly, the most expensive of three bids we obtained, but the final product was well worth it.

We obtained two quotes for this new deck. Classic's quote was the lowest and seemed reasonable to us. We were also informed that we did not have to pay a deposit or any part of the bill until the construction was done. This was a first for us! We received a 3D drawing to assist us with getting approval from our HOA. Due to rainy weather and work load, construction was delayed for over a month but this was communicated to us. Classic kept us adequately informed about their construction schedule and when they would be able to start on our deck. We were impressed with their productivity, professionalism, job site cleanup, and most of all, the quality of their work. The lead builder, who was also the person who quoted the job, was a perfectionist. This made us feel very confident about the results. He returned lumber to a local vendor that did not meet his quality standards. This caused extra effort and time but he did what was required to provide a quality product. And a quality product is what we got! Our deck is built per design, sturdy and beautiful. And we did not pay a dime until it was complete! I must note that a co-worker shared with me a positive experience he was having with a contractor installing windows in his home. There was one window shipped to the job that was not the correct size. It had to be re-ordered and the delivery time for this one window is several weeks due to the small order. My co-worker said that he was not required to pay a deposit. He felt bad that the contractor had finished all of the windows with the exception of the one and had not been paid. My co-worker tried to pay a portion of the bill but the contractor refused to accept any pay until the job is complete. I asked him the identity of the contractor......Classic Construction Exteriors!

They're excellent. They're impeccable, they're amazing to work with. They always showed up, and were as on time as they could be with the weather. They were easy to contact.

GREAT! Classic Constructions Exteriors, Inc. did a fabulous job on our front porch. The communication with Brian was wonderful, he got back with me right away and communicated with me via e-mail (which I prefer). The crew did a GREAT job and also cleaned up the area after they were done. It was nice to come home to a job well done! I definitely recommend Classic Constructions Exteriors, Inc. and will use them again!

My experience with Classic Construction Exteriors was good. They quoted me for $5000. They were on time and they worked really well with us. They're very responsive.

The reviews on Angies list were great. I sent an email to Classic Constructions Exteriors for someone to contact me AND NEVER HEARD A WORD FROM THEM. The same thing happened with UFab upholstery (though I will call them - based on their web address it seems you need to go in); but my question was regarding whether theypick up and re-deliver a sofa. If the company I deal with cant do that there is no point in wasting my time to go there). SO THOUGH RECOMMENED BY MY SON I AM BATTING A THOUSAND WITH ANGIES LIST RECOMMENDATIONS - NO RESPONSE!

We obtained two quotes for for replacing our current deck. We want to replace it with a deck of the same size but constructed with materials that are maintenance free. We also want the new deck roofed and screened. The first quote we obtained from another contractor was $6000 more than the one we obtained from Classic. The design proposed by the first contractor was more complex than the one proposed by Classic and thus more expensive. We agreed with the simpler design proposed by Classic. The person who made the design proposal and cost quote was friendly, professional and punctual. Within a couple of weeks of our acceptance of his proposal and quote, we received a design package to share with our HOA for construction approval. This design package included a 3-D visual of the new deck. Because Classic services are in high demand, our deck construction is scheduled for late May or early June.

We decided not to go with them because they were more expensive than we were planning to spend. But we were impressed with the professionalism and sketches they provided.

Classic Construction Exteriors did a great job. They guaranteed their work. The salesman who came out was very professional and personable. I felt like they were honest.

The work ran very smoothly. The construction crew was was professional, neat and cleaned up the work area before leaving. They showed up on time everyday and told me what they were going to be working on. Never had any concerns about the quality of the materials or the men working on them.. I would highly recommend Classic Construction!

For several weeks we had plumbers, painters, electricians, tilers, etc. in and out and up and down the stairs. They took care prior to beginning to protect our carpets from the front door, up the stairs, down the hallway and through the bedroom with plastic sticky sheeting. A dumpster was brought to our home and placed in the driveway just under the bathroom window for easy removal of everything through the window. It was nice that dusty dirty old plumbing did not have to go through the home on its' way out, because the dumpster ended up full to overflowing by the end. After demolision necessary types of wallboard were replaced. They installed a larger glass encased, tiled shower with a bench seat (several types of tile on threshold, floor and walls). A very large old jetted tub was removed along with the tile surround, and replaced with a more modern soaker. I didn't want the faucets on the end of the tub so a complete little cupboard was constructed behind the tub from wainscotting (to match the walls surrounding the tub area), and the fixtures were set in that with the plumbing running down under the floor. Controlled heating was installed in the floor and then that was tiled. The old double sink counter had a section removed to make room for the expanded shower. It was then painted, a granite counter top was installed and vessel sinks were plumbed and set along with the new fixtures. Old strip lights were replaced with pot lights and a new tinted skylight was installed. A new comfort-height toilet was also installed....mirrors hung and the painting completed the job. Our experience with Classic Construction was the best. They fully cleaned up after each day's work, kept us up-to-date on who would be coming the next day and what would be accomplished and the workmen were all extremely polite, quiet and willing to answer any questions we had as the work progressed.

The set up a project plan including a timetable. They were punctual and managed the project within the framework of the estimate. The overall project took about 2 weeks.

I was very pleased with the courteous and professional behavior of the crews. I have recommended them to others, and would call them again without hesitation.

I have not made a decision yet. Actually it was a very good experience. The owner actually came out and did the inspection and quote. He was very thorough. He explained the different options that we could proceed with. The quote depends on the options we were looking at like repairing some areas. It has different ranges.

Chose another contractor to do project.

Classic Construction Exteriors is a very professional company that I would highly recommend. I contacted them after finding them on Angie's list to repair / replace my damaged siding. When I called, I gave my information and a brief description of the work I needed done. I was told I would be contacted shortly to discuss next steps. I was contacted within the hour by the President of the company, Scott Jordan, and he indicated he would send someone out the following Monday to take a look and give an estimate. The gentleman who arrived to give me the estimate came out at our agreed upon time and really took the time to address all of my concerns / questions. My main concern, since we were only going to be removing the siding from the North side of the house (since that's the only part that was damaged), was whether or not we would be able to match the siding to the rest of the house. The gentleman I worked with was extremely knowledgeable about siding (over 30 years? experience) and was up front with me about my options. He had samples of the various colors, and we found a color match almost immediately. The only concern at this point was whether or not we would be able to find siding that had the wood grain texture (which is what I had) to match. I actually didn't even notice the wood grain, but the gentleman from Classic Construction Exteriors did. So I really appreciated his attention to detail. So the next day, I received a call back from Scott indicating they had located the exact siding (with the wood grain to match) and gave me a price. Their price was very reasonable and fair to me, as I had received a few additional quotes to which I could compare. I agreed to the price and we scheduled a date to have them come out and do the work. The work crew arrived at exactly 8am (which is when they said they would arrive) on the first day. The crew of 3 were very professional and courteous. They went right to work setting up their equipment. When I came home from work that day, all of the old siding had been removed and the new siding had been installed. The only thing left was to replace the aluminum fascia. They came back and did that in less than half a day the next day. They cleaned up everything and then they were gone. And when I say "cleaned up" I mean CLEANED UP! This job site was spotless when they left. I honestly could not tell that they had even been there. This was the neatest / cleanest construction job I had ever seen! Top notch. So in summary, I would say that the professionalism along with the experience that Classic Construction Exteriors provides, makes them a great choice for your siding needs. Should I ever have a need for this type of work in the future, I will ABSOLUTELY be calling them back.

They were fast and professional and as I write this in 2012 (6 years later) our house still looks wonderful. I was especially happy with how Mr. Jordan's team was able to preserve the details of the house that give our otherwise average home a little more character - they cut metal pieces to replicate the "gingerbread" around the eaves. I would invite anyone to come by my house and see their craftmanship - especially since it has stood up to 2 hurricanes, several nasty storms, and some blisteringly hot summers - every inch looks as good as the day they completed the work.

Porch concrete slab had settled and was no longer level. Additionally the wooden porch railings and porch posts needed to be replaced. I got several quotes. The Classic estimate was very competitive and well written (I could follow the estimate and understand exactly the scope of the work estimated and how much was being charged for each task). It did take a while to get scheduled, but I was not in a hurry so the wait was not a big deal to me. The guys that came out to do the work were nice guys. I felt completely comfortable with them. They were easy to talk to and very accommodating. Once the job was finished, I had a punch list of corrections / adjustments I wanted on the railing. Classic came back and corrected everything I asked them to correct with no arguments or drama. I would use these guys again.

He did an excellent job and they are really great about coming back out to fix anything if any damage occurs through the years from weather or any other nature occurrence.

I was pleased beyond my expectations. Scott was a pleasure to work with, and his workers were very professional from start to finish. The time frame I selected was actually a little further back than I could select on this list. I would definitely recommend the company and use them again.

I was very impressed with the workmanship and attention that was demonstrated by each of the CCE craftsmen. I took vacation during this installation to reroute the cable connection from outside to inside the house, so I was present to observe most of the work. We have received several compliments on the appearance of our house, and especially the deck, since the work was completed. I am not one to shop price, so I can't say CCE was the best 'deal'. However, I was impressed with Ron Richardson, his foremen, and crews, and I am very pleased with the result. I had a chance to observe a neighbor's house undergoing a siding replacement at the same time as ours. I do not know how much they paid. I hope it was a lot less, as I was able to compare the level of craftsmanship between the two jobs My only suggestion for improvement would have been to keep the work zone cleaner and less cluttered. I recognize that our space was limited. I purchased a rolling magnetic sweeper from Northern Hardware to police the driveway, in addition to the sweeps made by the CCE men. Money well spent. Bottom line, I believe I received value for my dollar, and would contract with CCE again in a heartbeat.
