Dishonest. Fraud. No Integrity. This company took advantage of an elderly woman in need of plumbing support. They charged over $400 for a faucet that only costs $89 at Lowes and told the woman that “it was a great deal on a new faucet.” They clearly took advantage of an elderly woman in need and who trusted them as professionals. They did not provide an initial cost estimate or invoice for the work. After receiving payment, they refused to provide a receipt for the work. When confronted over the phone about grossly overcharging for the new faucet, he became defensive and angry, stating “I am not afraid of you taking me to court,” and “I have to make a living, too,” then he hung up. The employee, Ronald Poindexter, is who made the house call – don’t trust him. He stated that the owner of the business has Alzheimer’s and he has taken over. I don’t believe this to be true. I believe he is acting as an unofficial agent and the actual business owner is unaware. I did some research on the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) website ([*** Link removed ***] and found that Mr. Poindexter’s license expired in 2006.

I decided to use this company because they installed my hot water heater approximately 8 years ago and I did not have any problems with it. I called the first number on the sticker left on the hot water heater to find out that it was no longer in service. The second number rang through to a lady that seemed reluctant to say anything, even that she was with CT Camden Plumbing, until I told her that I had a hot water heater that needed to be replaced. She then took my information and the owner called me back. It was a difficult conversation with the owner but I managed to get across that the heater was leaking and that I would like to have it replaced and while he was at my house I would also like for him to fix two leaky toilets and look at the third toilet. The first major sign of concern was that this company does not take credit cards and will only take cash or a check made out to cash. The worker came out the night before to verify the size of the hot water heater and to look at the toilets. He arrived on time the morning the work was to be done and proceeded to take out the hot water heater. The owner then arrived and said he would not do any additional work until the cash was in his hand. He was shown the cash and told that it would be given to them once work was completed. I did not feel comfortable handing over cash until some work had been completed as I would have no recourse if they decided to up and leave. Well, the owner decided to pack up and leave since he could not get the money. I do not even know if he brought the replacement hot water heater with him. All in all, this seems like a dubious and truly unethical company. I will have to say that the worker seemed to be honest and up front and it is a shame that he is working for an unprofessional employer.

The first people I hired to do this job didn t do anything to my bathroom. When they left, my sink still leaked so I called this company and they fixed the problem right away. They did an excellent job my sink has not leaked at all.
